From what I remember Maria Arena came from a middle class family and worked in the fashion industry in LA during the 1980s when she met Bill Bell Jr. He got her introduced to his dad and the became a script writer on B&B. Poof 1992, she retires from public work, marries, gets children and rather shockingly shows up Y&R as head writer in December 2007. We learn that she did a lot of charity work in the years prior and is an avid art collector. Personally, I thought that she was much better than given credit for. Unfortunately ever since she was allowed solo reign, it went down the gutter. It's deinitely true that she had not the chops or the experience to be head writer and or executive producer of a daily show. She needed strong co-working bees which she either stirred away due to ego or had the wrong advisors.

Post of the day - LMAO! I check those uploads regularly. I must admit that I'm getting greedy and wish that she'd upload more than one episode a day. Has anyone talked to her or is aware whether those B&B classics are streamed in the Netherlands or just on cable TV? 'cause if they were streamed I'd give a VPN client a try to check what episodes they are currently showing. As I understand it they are still re-running classic B&B...

It seems like the user has now decided to hide all B&B videos for now... DId someone receive a message back from her? Feel free to PM me if you don't want to share in it in the forum. BTW, those who missed downloading episode 272. Here ya go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O_EESWtzEBY&feature=youtu.be

The numbering these users use is the basic one, meaning S2 E275 is merely stating that it is a season 2 episode but the 275th episode overall. BTW: I did some Google searching and translating. Apparently, Dutch broadcaster RTL8 brought on B&B rerurns for the show's 30th anniversary. Initially 10 episodes, then made it 30 - and when viewer feedback (it aired 6.30 pm in pre-primetime following current B&B!) was huge, they extended it for roughly 150 episodes. After that they axed it and viewers were unhappy. Now it seems that the reruns were continued - I'n not sure if on cable TV or on RTL's media streaming service RTL lounge. Unfortunately, I couldn't find out yet whether episode 275 was a "fresh" episode from last week or whether the reruns are much further ahead in the Netherlands. Therefore it is still unclear for how long we will be blessed with these consecutive episodes in pristine quality. I for one will keep my fingers crossed. I bought the first 250 episodes DVD box sets but as the release was not continued this is a treat! @YRfan23 care to tell me what airdates you have for the posted episodes from 1992/1993 a few pages back?

As we were talking about pinning down the airdatres a while back: Judging by the "Forever Knight" promo ("Tonight"), the episode labeled as Jan 18 aired on a Tuesday... so it should be January 19 instead because according to wikipedia that show always aired on Tuesday. The December 1992 episodes also strike me as one or two days off the listed dates.

Neil Fenmore was also one of those "gone characters", I think. He disappeared sometime in 1985 and was never heard of again. Until Jim Storm showed up on B&B as Bill Spencer Sr. and Lauren got news in GC that Neil died and left her Fenmore Department Stores. Therefore, in 1987 Neil's fate was resolved.

The credits to those 1988 episodes are interesting: even though the show is entering season 2 and it is beyond the first 250 episodes, both producer Gail Kobe of P&G fame and writer Meg Bennett are still listed in the credits. I'd thought that they both left after the first year, but now it seems they left sometime in the late spring/summer of 1988. Thank you so much for these. Those late 1992/early 1993 episodes are amongst my first memories of watching B&B with my mom and whilst I managed to catch up with most of 1987-1992, I haven't seen much 1992-1996 since it's original broadcast while I have the fondest memories of this time. That Sheila and Dr. Garvin scene in the December 1, 1992 you posted a while back is a prime example what I loved about 90s B&B. There are so many great tongue in cheek scenes around all the yada-yada-love triangles.

It works on Safari. Just checked it. Try another browser... There used to be GREAT recaps on cbs.com - and every day had one screen cap. It was from 01/01/1998 onwards. Too bad that they got rid of the recap section for the soaps when they switched to full episodes being streamed. Such a waste to take the sites off the world wide web as it had zero data consumption; it just didn't fit into the new layout of cbs.com

The German DVD sets consist of episode 1 - 250. So it's season one (I always count March 23 as the beginn of a season - unlike CBS nowadays...) plus a couple of episodes of the 1988/1989 season. If anyone has access to the B&B press site (or knows someone who has - any of SON staff?), they could also be of help. There are (or at least used to have) episode recaps to ALL shows, they call it "log lines". Just on some random occasions they contain characters/storyline that were not (!) part of the screened episode but it is still the most helpful source out there. Unfortunately, I didn't save all of these when I used to have access to the site. Bummer! Here's an example: 0076-0100.PDF It's still a hazzle and like a rag rug piece of sources, but on IMDB you can also find recaps for more than half of 1988 and 1989 to pinpoint a lot of episodes down to a en episode number. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0092325/episodes?year=1988

The problem with 1987 is that - apparently - there were like a dozen (!) premptions in July/August. Yet, it seems impossible to find out when exactly the show was preempted. So it’s all a wild guess. 1988 is a lot safer as there it seems were a lot less preemptions. Often airdates given on youtube are sketchy at best as there is conflicting information. The easiest way to get episode numbers is the German recap (but don’t buy the supposed US airdates listed there...) site I posted a couple of pages earlier in this thread. But beginning with episodes from 1989 I think.
