Billy Miller WAS Billy for me. I always thought he was the best Billy. It was the relationship with Victoria that made him unbearable. May be even worst than Phick for me honestly. &nbsp He and Elizabeth Hendrickson had insane chemistry. Blair/Chuck vibes from Gossip Girl. I was very into it!

They need to broaden their cast and create more stories outside the main family. I love a lot of things about the show but to me its giving B&B in its first season when the whole show centres around the Forrester’s and since rewatching from the beginning I’m so damn SICK of all the drama centring around Ridge/Caroline. I’ve always hated when soaps do that. 90s and early 2000s Days & Y&R were always good at juggling multiple stories so I HOPE BTG will start to do that too.

There’s absolutely nothing exciting happening storyline wise but I’m always happy to see the vets on my screen so I’ll take what I can get. It’s also just nice to see them all dressed up in the same room, it always gives classic Y&R vibes. The best part? No Phyllis.

Sickening. I am totally gonna watch from episode 1. I did not know I could stream this show from the beginning. Let’s go Y&R! Jump on board. We want classic episodes! I don’t even need them all right from the beginning.. I’m good with like 80s-2000s eras

Yawn. Another week of the Phyllis show. I guess I don’t have to watch this week too.

Imagine if Passions being canceled by NBC happened today. That show moving to DirecTV was ahead of its time and people simply weren’t going to care enough to subscribe back then. The supernatural stuff has made a comeback too with shows like Stranger Things. I think it could have had a chance on a streaming platform like Peacock if it happened today. I’m happy for Days and soap operas in general. It feels like there might be light at the end of the tunnel after all for the genre as a whole with shows like Beyond the Gates becoming so successful (First soap opera in almost 25 years like WHAT). I’m going to remain hopeful for what the future holds!

When I first started watching this show, I was concerned that the cast would remain small and only focus on the Dupree family and not expand to include more families and other characters. Now that I’m seeing Anita’s friends being cast and other characters, its giving me hope that as they establish things more the storylines will expand to include more and more stories

It’s sad that all these fabulous soap writers who truly understand the craft are dead/going to die soon. I wonder if there will ever be a resurgence of writers who can carry on their legacy one day.

You’re right. I wish that could change. Although I don’t see how it could. Maybe it’s too late now and we just have to take what we can get until it’s inevitable cancellation.

I was just thinking last night how the Y&R universe feels condensed and smaller. The world of Genoa City seems so watered down now and there’s less storylines happening. I remember when there were like EIGHT different storylines happening simultaneously.. granted they weren’t all getting a ton of airtime but character and storyline development was always happening on the back burner and they would each have a turn to come to the front burner. JG has all his eggs in this Dumas story? Really? And then what else is happening? Kyle/Claire? And it’s not even good. Another thing.. I am fully okay with having more storylines and having them be more ISOLATED. I don’t need everyone in town crossing paths and being involved in each others [!@#$%^&*]. It feels like I’m watching big brother or something. It’s not soapy and doesn’t feel believable when everyone’s up in each others business. There’s so many characters that could be having their own stories without having to pop up 2-5 times a month to prop up the one LAME storyline happening at that time. It’s almost as if JG can’t handle the juggling act that comes with balancing multiple storylines at once and making it work. It’s much easier for him to focus one 1 or maybe 3 stories at the absolute most and make the entire cast on Y&R centre around those. It’s super [!@#$%^&*] lame. Ok rant over.

Like it or not, it’s pretty much the last popular pairings we’ve had from that group. No writers since have been able to create anything that has been able to generate as much hype.

Didn’t Mark Grossman and Sharon Case date briefly in real life? Seems like there might be some awkwardness there. I’m ok with Adam pairing up with anyone but Sally. Chelsea/Adam and Sharon/Adam both have big fandoms and could drive good future story so I’m ok with either.

Sigh. Even though MAB was one of the first to completely murder this show, she did have me tuning in everyday to see what would happen next because her writing was so off the wall. I can’t say that about JG. It’s just flat and boring, and not only is he boring but his writing is still just as damaging as MAB was. What’s worst than that?

Tbh I’m ready for Sharon to get with a silver fox. It was gross years ago when the writers put her with Victor and Tucker but I feel like enough time has passed. The actress is older now, and if they aren’t gonna put her back with Nick then might as well put her with a hot older, powerful man. (Not Victor, just to be clear..) That’s very interesting and thanks for the response. That was a question that has been nagging me for awhile. 🤣

What is the reason why soaps can’t use whatever sets they want? How exactly does it cost money..? I’m sure they still have Michael and Lauren’s house, why can’t they just put it up and shoot it when needed lol

Can someone remind me again what her run was like at Y&R? There’s been so many changes over the recent years. I googled and saw that she was EP when Charles Pratt was writing. Yuk. I definitely didn’t enjoy his writing but I really can’t remember if I liked JFP or not. Alls I know is these stories JG is doing are not working. He only has like maybe 5 characters at most on a day and it’s so [!@#$%^&*] boring. There’s also huge gaps in between characters being on and having their storylines showcased. It’s like he does something with a certain character for a short period and then they drop off the face of the earth again. There’s no follow up storylines or storylines that evolve into something else.

Wake me up when Phyllis stops being the centre of the show again. Haven’t these writers learned from their mistakes? They want her to be a heroine so bad. Sharon is being used to prop up Phyllis once again by making her seem jealous over her and Nick having an intimate moment. Wtf? Why would Sharon care? it’s Phyllis’ world and everyone is just living in it. Gagggggggg

Also Victor being the obstacle for Kyle/Claire feels forced. If anything it should be Diane. Diane has a history of having issues with the Newmans, doesn’t she? Jack could be the one trying to reel her in while she’s meddling in Kyle and Claire’s relationship. They’re making the characters of Diane, Victoria, Nick, Sharon be way too complacent when they could have a stronger role in the younger characters like Mariah/Tessa, Kyle/Claire etc

These writers are so lame they have to keep stealing old ideas..

I was just going through the vault and watching some random episodes from 2001, then 2006. Sigh. What a different show it was back then. It makes me so sad that it’s barely a shell of its former self. It was always so multigenerational. There were compelling stories for all generations without having to sacrifice anything to make it work.

I only watch for Sharon and she’s barely on. The only good thing going at the moment is Jack and Diane scenes and they’ve made Diane such a wuss lately which is making that unbearable to watch too

Just started this show. I’m on episode 3. I’m starting to make the connections and understand the family tree better. Still will take time to fully understand everything but it’s exciting. So glad we have a new soap opera in 2025! Excited to join the discussion once I’m caught up.

I’m now realizing all of Nick and Sharon’s screen time last month all revolved around Phyllis and then they took a “trip” to visit Noah and still haven’t been back? That’s super lame. They should be involved in a lot more and COULD be, especially where any of the Newmans are concerned (Sharon in particular, since I don’t care much for Nick unless he is in the presence of Sharon).
