  1. I thought the pacing was on point during those first two weeks. Pacing was amongst one of my main discussions roughly a year before this show made it to air. I was seriously adamant about it.
  2. Yep! With all of these people involved with this show: writers, directors, producers, etc. Why is it looking like this show doesn't really have its act together?
  3. The man is just class personified. He's been let go and he's still championing the show.
  4. But we are still getting the same soap tropes.
  5. Precisely! Which is why I say no REAL stories. Everything is so bland.
  6. Yes. I'm noticing the constant parties/events too. Almost like they're using them because they got no real stories to tell and nothing to write.
  7. RIVETING is the word this show should entail. How about a compelling storyline where Andre inexplicably goes missing and it somehow ties in with the death of his parents. The cookie cutter stuff ain't giving.
  8. No thank you to the American Idol "cliffhanger". Come on show. Time is of the essence.
  9. Well let's see then. Anita, Vernon, Nicole, Dani. Tied to them are: Children/grandchildren/great-grandchildren: Naomi, Martin, Chelsea, Kat, Tyrell, and Samantha. Husbands/ex-husbands shall consist of: Ted, Smitty, Jacob, and Bill. Friends/enemies/associates are: Andre, Vanessa, Hayley, Mona, Pam, and Elon.
  10. I hope next month aka May sweeps will be when the real sizzle begins and keeps up. They've got to get on the ball. These characters were orchestrated much too interestingly to be wasted. About that other family: Yes. I said when this show was first announced as being rich black people, I thought there also needed to be ordinary working black people as their counterparts. That dynamic is always interesting.
  11. I feel like I need to congratulate Doug because for a recurring character, he sure has a front and center position. Might as well upgrade to series regular. He's got more going on than the actual regulars.
  12. HA! The now defunct PASSIONS would've done this for sure.
  13. All I can say is that the nitty-gritty needs to be gotten down to come next month. I am simply not fascinated by the majority of these characters right now. Dani and Andre: Constantly having sex is NOT a storyline. She’s become obnoxious and he's still a big mystery. How about telling us more about his deceased parents and other possible backgrounds. The Dupree matriarch and patriarch: They are king and queen of the show, but somehow even they are coming up short. Are they dropping plot lines left and right? Bill vs. Naomi is now a no go. Martin is no longer interested in running for president and he's no longer all over Smitty about returning to work. Dropping plot lines already as a brand new show ain't good. Kat and Eva: I know quite a few people are liking this potential sibling rivalry, but it’s just too ordinary for me, like "been there done that" a million times before. The bottomline for me is I'd like to see some huge surprises and stepping more outside of the box. How about focusing less on this silly product placement and focusing more on these characters.
  14. I'm still invested in and loving my TeddyBear despite his transgressions. I'm not sure how I'll feel about the new one coming so we'll see. As for anyone else? I don't know. It feels kinda awkward to me like the writers haven't dug deep enough to make me care much about anyone else. My opinion. It's strange because all of these characters were given interesting character descriptions when this project was first being created.
  15. It wouldn't be difficult at all to create some initially unheard of family members. A manipulative treacherous Dupree son banished from the family a la Tracy Quartermaine for example?
  16. I'll agree on one point and disagree with another. Anita and Vernon are villains. Maurice Johnson as Ted is a leading man. I said it before, he and Nicole could've been the black Sky and Raven of this show.
  17. I'm afraid that this is gonna be NuTed. Black men just can't be good. Oh, and the mention of WIGS?
  18. This show is filled with misbehaving characters and it's so ironic that the seemingly most decent and hated are Ashley and Derek.
  19. I'm down with Veronica Harrington joining this cast like a Youtuber suggested. So many vile characters on this show and she'd fit right in.
  20. I think the show needs to use Andre exactly as he was designated: a playboy. Isn't a playboy just the male equivalent of a whore? Why is he just sleeping with Dani and pining for Ashley? Have him sleep with Shanice and a few recurring wanton bimbos just to have him live up to his so-called reputation.
  21. Dr. Flannery? Another CBS nod to Susan Flannery aka Stephanie Forrester?
  22. I wonder what Maurice's swaying is all about because it's not like he does it in every scene he's in.
  23. They also need to explain Ted and Leslie also. When and where did they meet? Was she a call girl back in the day and met him on an extended business trip?
