  1. How embarrassing. What was Jack wearing? And why was he sexily walking toward his superimposed parents? That coupled with Tea doing a come hither motion toward her own superimposed daughter makes this extra weird. Just awful.
  2. I love that Trina said "the gallery is closed" after she read Esme for filth. Tabyana Ali is so so good. All of the kids are minus Eden McCoy, who I think is just emulating all the obnoxious parts of Laure Wright's Carly (I hate Carly but LW is never bad) without any of the talent.
  3. What IS the plot here other than "Diane's alive"? She explained why she did it and where she was. Have they hinted at more? Or does this writing team think her mere existence is enough? A month of Jack announcing to Genoa City that Diane is alive does not constitute a story.
  4. She's a beautiful cipher. If they want to up their Black Cast bring in someone new because this ain't it. She looks uncomfortable in her own skin. NuTrina is still great. What a find. Rory is a little bland in the acting and looks department but we'll see where this goes. I like a black girl in the middle of a love triangle.
  5. I'm freaking out a little bit because the score at the end of this scene sounds sweeping and epic, which is the first time I've felt this way about Y&R in damn near a decade. The camera work when Nikki first sees Diane is also the most interesting choice they've made in YEARS. Also everyone looks great in this clip. Older but still themselves. Susan Walters is just a gorgeous woman, with her beautiful untouched face.
  6. Reva had a string of stupid storylines with diminishing returns and after a point they never seemed to help the ratings yet there was. On every single day in one of her stupid outlandish stories chewing up every set in Springfield. Reva's Amish. Reva the clone, Reva the princess, Reva gets stalked, Reva saves the refugees, Reva the mercy killer, Reva travels through paintings and amidst all that nonsense her most successful story was her conflict with her rebellious long-lost son. A tried and true soap staple. I just wonder why soaps continue pushing the same characters frontburner despite ratings reflecting either disinterest or viewer revolt. GL was at the bottom of the ratings for it's last decade with Reva in A story constantly YET they stuck with her. I do not get it.
  7. Thank you! Funny enough out of all the divas I listed she's the only one I could see recast (not now of course) in any capacity.
  8. They're really having Jack just go around calmly and quietly telling everyone that Diane is alive? Is this show just ALLERGIC to drama?
  9. I thought they put Harmony on contract to make her a viable character. Maybe they decided against it because the actress looks crazy.
  10. That's a good question, did Susan Lucci or Kim Zimmer ever get temp recasted? Same goes for Deidre Hall and Melody Thomas Scott, curious about these leading ladies.
  11. Sharon Case's face physically pains me, I'm sorry. It's really taking me out of that scene.
  12. The strip doesn't bother me, the "fave" part does. Listen, Kathryn Hays wasn't some bit player that a small subset of fans went gaga over, she was a legend!
  13. He's perfectly adequate everywhere he goes.
  14. I get dizzy over the fact out of the thousands of actors who have been on soaps non-entity Wally Kurth is the one actor employed by two of the remaining shows. I mean...him?
  15. I'd tune in. In fact it would automatically become the best story on the show.
  16. They're not writing it and the actress isn't playing any of this as though her character has a long history on this show. She may as well be a brand new character. I didn't think someone could be worse than the last one but here we are.
  17. I hate that. Kyle should be a total mama's boy. She was basically a single mother to him up until her "death". They were extremely close. He should be elated that she's alive.
  18. The gag is that both of these kids have been on the show for YEARS. And still not great. The new Trina has really highlighted how weak they are (and how weak Nicholas Chavez can be).
  19. I'm pretty sure he's never seen anything in a storytelling medium at this point.
  20. Oof okay Tabyana Ali completely sold me on her Trina today. She was fantastic. She is an Actor™! I haven't cared about a soap couple in literal ages but I really wanted Spencer and Trina to kiss today, actually got mad at the fake out. Dammit!
  21. Oh no, they're gonna blame the black people.
  22. It's flipping weird that this sex tape nonsense is the umbrella story on this show. I could understand it if there were some mystery to it, some labyrinthian plot but...Esme did it. Everyone knows Esme did it. She isn't even a good liar. They give less airtime to characters murdering people.
  23. I say Spencer and Trina are still getting the star-crossed lovers writing.
  24. There are a lot of really old people on this show.
  25. No one on the writing staff, absolutely not. Victoria Rowell was the only advocate for Dru's blackness. And they quickly demonized her for it. Still do. I really hate the way male characters spoke to women back then. Are Dru and diane being a bit unprofessional? This happened a lot back then, especially scenes with Dru or Phyllis, some man would enter the room and scold them like children.
