  1. Tracy to anyone with at least one working brain cell: *clearly buying Ethan to save his life* Felicia: TRACY???
  2. Someone update Marlena's wikipedia!
  3. Didn't Days try to copy Natalie in the well with one of Marlena's patients keeping her in a basement or something? Edit: Natalie in the well - 1991 Stella Lombard traps Marlena in a warehouse - 1992 Carly buried alive - 1993
  4. I refused to watch any of Maurice's scenes yesterday when he could barely spit out "Is that coffee for Anna?" to Tristan. I just find him embarrassing/uncomfortable to watch. Oh god only on a soap in 2023 is the co-lead of Trapper John, MD a get. I'd be into Robert and Alexis. Do I think Alexis could do with men who look less...elderly? Sure. But he's Robert Scorpio.
  5. Look at Brad angling for an NAACP Image Award.
  6. They did and she absolutely is, they've just lost the plot with Carly. And you know I love Ava and Trina, in fact I didn't list Trina only because I think they've yet to give her a rich inner life. Her voice isn't yet defined but I do think she's getting there. I loved the moment last week where Spencer was saying some version of a final goodbye and she stopped him to say "This is not the end for us.". They went to the Nurse's Ball together two weeks ago.
  7. I would say the vet scenes where they let them shine and rely on these 30+ year old friendships to drive the scene are some of the best. And I think the day to day writing for some characters is consistently good, like Spencer, Ava, Laura. Even when the scene is functional I get a good sense of who they are. I can't say the same for others, as good as Laura Wright is for example, Carly vacillates between Bull in a China Shop and Mother Earth depending on the day.
  8. Because they hate us. The idea that Alexis would even speak to this man again after the way he treated her for showing simple concern is absurd. He yelled at her and called her awful things because his ego is bruised or whatever. I hate him. Looking like a Founding Father thinking he can get away with this shît. A terminally boring episode today minus Felicia and Holly. Blaze entering the hearing all "I've got something to say!" and everyone listening to her was comical. Brook Lynn's constant wistfulness when it comes to Chase is exhausting. If you want him, GO GET HIM. She's being a real pick-me right now and it's not a good look. I still can't get over some of the writing. Scenes built around suspense where there needn't be any drive me batty. Willow and Michael invited Carly and Josslyn over to tell them they moved up the wedding. WHY was that dragged out over multiple segments? It's insane. The first scene ended with Willow saying something like "I need you" to them. The next had Michael asking Carly "Do you approve us getting married?". The next probably had some variation of that but I wouldn't know because I skipped it. It's so stupid. It's a 2 minute scene dragged out over the entire hour. I get that soaps need filler but give it some life, some vitality, some humor, some personality. It all feels very "We need to complete this script with just enough info to get us through to next week". He looks very Australian. I've had the same thought during their scenes. The actress is coming across real thirsty. I know you're happy to have screentime and probably excited to work with Tristan but simmer down. And he seems like he could take it or leave it. They should do it now that Lexi Ainsworth looks like an adult. Friends to lovers.
  9. They couldn't get not one of their off-white cast members to show up that day?
  10. All of the Jordans have looked too young to be the parent of an adult. The show is obviously full of beautiful people but she's almost distractingly pretty. What is this model doing here talking about issuing warrants?
  11. I think she looks like she's in a constant state of surprise. But I'm mean. Watching Jordan and Curtis attempt to act in scenes together is actually painful. I'm always rooting for my people but they make it hard when they're this bad. A lot of the acting in general is very stiff, it must be a byproduct of how quickly they shoot. You have a group of actors trying to remember their lines and blocking without rehearsal (as far as I know all they do is blocking and then it's straight to shooting).
  12. Thought I was on a spicier tab for a second.
  13. I find myself solely watching for Sprina and Laura. That's it. Luckily they're all on a lot and driving plenty of story. Willow's death march goes on (and on) and she continues to look like she forgot to put on concealer. I will say I was pretty impressed by the actress in the scene where she broke down by herself after Michael left the room. I'm surprised the show even found time for a scene like that, you know how modern soaps can't handle any sort of silence. Love that Sprina is getting a little adventure but Trina returning to the room and telling Spencer all of the things she did and saw, which we didn't get to see, as well as the flashback to Laura on the Titan highlight the budget constraints of daytime drama. But I won't complain too much. It's only been 3 days but if Esme says "my baby" one more time...also Avery Pohl was MUCH better as conniving Esme, not this shell of a person wailing about "That's not who I am anymore" to anyone who will listen. It's frickin' boring. SPEAKING OF BORING Joss freaking out about "Omg what if Sonny finds out?? Dex you'll be dead! Dexed!" and having it amount to Sonny shrugging his shoulders and going "So what? Who cares?" was pretty funny. He doesn't care that much about your opinion or safety, Josslyn. Tough luck, kid. Maybe if Jax ever comes back he'll care about your sensitive bodyguard lover. Sasha says every line like she's a motivational speaker. Brook Lynn being such a drip when she's Lois' daughter and Tracy's granddaughter is a Huge Glaring Mistake. Make her a spitfire! Give her some UMPH! Not this earnest weepy mess we get every where. BL and Sasha playing ping pong with the same cliche, empty platitudes speaks to how weak the characterizations are for all of them. Forget Willow and Sasha, they're disposable, but BL as a Quartermaine needs to have a well-defined personality and right now she doesn't. She's just some woman pining away with tear-filled eyes for a guy who looks like he shops in the Boys' section at Target. Someone ask JPS what movie or TV show or play he thinks he's in. Because I ain't got no CLUE what that man is doing. His unhinged performance is uncomfortable, unconvincing and frankly too much.
  14. I will never understand the demonization of the Quartermaine family. Yes they would bicker but it wasn't this menacing, destructive, intentional abuse they painted it as. Alan and Monica regularly hurt each other because of their oversized egos but they loved their children and were more attentive than most soap opera parents. Edward wasn't far from a great husband or father but he loved his kids and his wife and would close ranks whenever outsiders turned out to be a real threat. And Lila was the kindest person on the whole damn planet. You had someone like Carly barreling into every scene, catching an attitude with potted plants, lying just because it's 4:37 on a Tuesday yet the Quartermaines are evil incarnate? I just don't understand how as a writer you can have a subset of characters throw a tantrum and barware because they didn't get their way that week yet Alan and Monica arguing for two minutes (no really, go watch some of the Quartermain scenes where they're meant to be seen as awful. 90% of the time it's all of them yelling at each other with one of the "good" characters like Emily (die you ungrateful street urchin) screaming "Would you all just STOP?!") is somehow beyond the pale. I'd say Tracy and Edward were the only truly mean-spirited members of the family and after a certain point Edward was just a cantankerous old man yelling at the sky.
  15. Any opportunity to hate on Mo I'm gonna take it! But yeah, I can only think of VM and KM as noticeably shorter love interests that he's had.
  16. Mo is looking a little goblin-y lately. It's like his age just hit him (or me maybe) all of a sudden. When's the last time he didn't have a love interest that towered over him? Short king season is in, lean into it.
  17. I don't even know what ratings mean anymore but the fact that GH has basically no supporting daytime lineup versus CBS's game shows and The Talk yet gets around the same numbers as Y&R and B&B is kind of impressive, right?
  18. It's got to be local access or streaming. It's streaming on Aiden's Twitch! That actually would've been pretty fun and current. GH is getting another SOD magazine for it's 60th. I can't embed the post but this is from their instagram and according to this post with Emma Samms and Tristan Rogers it's a full size magazine. Lucky and Liz, my babies.
  19. I'm sure @Vee knows better but I believe so. A current and former GH script writer, whose name is escaping me, did a The Locher Room interview a few weeks ago stated he was let go when FV and RC joined the show. Ron asked him to stay on an additional, I think, 6 weeks or so but he knew as soon as they were hired that he'd be out of a job. That's a soap cliche I've just had to begrudgingly learn to accept. I was watching some GH from the 90s as you know and Ryan was reading a newspaper where the headline (the HEADLINE) read "FELICIA JONES TO WED MAC SCORPIO" or something similarly insane. Headlines about world famous people are hardly ever THAT direct. Even stop the presses news like Oprah finally marrying Stedman would say something like "Longtime loves Oprah Winfrey and Stedman Graham to finally say yes to marriage and tie the knot".
  20. Good article! Expected answers but enjoyable nonetheless. And yes, the number of children under 15 on this show is decidedly out of hand. Liz: Aiden and Jake Carly and Sonny: Donna Willow and Michael: Amelia and Wiley Sam: Scout and Danny Lulu and Dante: Rocco Lulu and Valentin: Charlotte Ava and Sonny: Avery Olivia and Ned: Leo Esme: Ace Finn: That lispy little girl. I'm not looking her up. Maxie: Three of them, don't expect me to know their names. And I know at least one of them isn't actively on the show. Can someone tell this to Y&R? The Abbott living room looks like it smells. On second thought nevermind, they'd end up gutting it and painting the walls blue.
  21. I wonder why his social issue stories aren't remembered/praised as much as ones from other soaps like Robin's HIV on GH or Bianca coming out on AMC. Maybe it's because Y&R's characters have always been a bit removed, I loved the show at one point but I can't deny that it hasn't always had the warmest of characters. Under Bell (and maybe a few years after he stepped down) they often felt like chess pieces in his long game and less like people so even their crises had a sheen of artifice.
  22. Because they're not actual drawings, it's a photoshop action that turns an image into a sketched drawing. Good idea, poor execution.
  23. I don't know where that sad face emoji came from. But yeah, good for her!
