BTG: History, Behind the Scenes Articles & Photos
Long article, worth reading the whole thing... Great article about Beyond The Gates and also the history of the real-life "Country Club at Woodmore", located in Prince George's County, Maryland - one of the wealthiest majority-Black counties in the US. The article says that the country club, and its attached gated community, is the epicentre of the area's upper crust. They interview local residents! Although it traces its roots back to plantation-era slavery, the region has become synonymous with "Black excellence", locals told the BBC. To live there, Patricia Gafford says: "You've got to have money – lots of it."

This marks the first time the USA has designated an official language at the federal level since the USA was founded almost 250 years ago. I don't know if there's been a reaction, since fifty zillion other horrible things are happening at the same time. As you said, it probably got lost amidst everything else. It's all awful.

----------------------------------------- President of Switzerland ... https://x.com/keller_sutter/status/1895701579854221442" — Karin Keller-Sutter (@keller_sutter) (1 March 2025) Switzerland remains firmly committed to supporting a just and lasting peace, while condemning Russia's aggression against a sovereign state. #Ukraine ----------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------- https://x.com/ZelenskyyUa/status/1896626179177894388 Volodymyr Zelenskyy / Володимир Зеленський @ZelenskyyUa 3 March 2025 I had a productive conversation with our Baltic friends – President of Lithuania @GitanasNauseda, President of Latvia @edgarsrinkevics, and Prime Minister of Estonia @KristenMichalPM. I informed them about yesterday’s summit in London. Together, we must prepare a plan of actions that will bring us closer to real security guarantees. There are concrete initiatives, and we will work on them. For us, unity with all partners is crucial to end the war as soon as possible and ensure a reliable and lasting peace. Ukraine, Europe, the United States – only together can we restore security for all our people, and this is really possible. I am grateful for the support and the decision on new defense packages that will help save the lives of our people. -----------------------------------------

Y&R: March 2025 Discussion Thread
Good news: No soccer soaps preemptions for UEFA Champions League during March 2025 on CBS. They're doing Paramount Plus only, not CBS-broadcast-TV this year. https://www.paramountplus.com/shows/uefa-champions-league/news/1010726/uefa-champions-league-schedule/ As far as I can see, the same would be true for the soccer quarterfinals and semifinals in April and May -- Paramount Plus only. As per the link. (However sometimes there is a change announced later, so good to check again in April, to be sure.) note: There will likely still be a network-wide preemption for NCAA Basketball (March Madness tournament). (to be announced later). If that happens, it would be for all timezones. These are the *likely* basketball dates (to be confirmed later)... Y&R would be affected as follows: CBS-USA: Thurs. March 20 and Fri. March 21. Global-Canada: Wed. March 19 and Thurs. March 20.

I never saw Tony Todd in any of his films. But loved him as Worf's brother Kurn on Star Trek. That voice!

I was in high school studying Shakespeare in the early 1970s. Our school arranged a special screening at the local theatre and we had a "field trip" on the bus to go to the theatre to see Romeo and Juliet.

BTG: V2 Opening Credits
Oh the show made an error in the closing credits. They listed Vanessa's husband Douglas McBride as Douglas McBridge.
