GH: Actor "grateful" to return
On June 17, 2025, Kin Shriner posted a picture of the door to GH dressing room #44 which is labeled for Jens Austin Astrup. He implied that this used to be his dressing room. This seemed to be one of his periodic announcements that GH wasn't using him anymore, so I didn't pay much attention, since dressing rooms can be reassigned for any number of reasons. https://x.com/kinshriner/status/1935077606153666884

oh I remember this. Not specifically what was said, since I watched it on live TV several decades ago, but I vividly remember impressions of how it felt to me and how they looked and their energy!

DAYS: July 2025 Discussion Thread
I haven't enjoyed DAYS in a long time. I was quite invested in the storylines around John's death and memorial, the Bo/Hope brief return, and the Pandrew wedding. But none of the current storylines are anything I want to see. So I think I will choose to take a break from DAYS, even from reading recaps and spoilers.

Same. I can't with Y&R anymore. I like posting spoiler photos but the storylines are so bad that it's just depressing. I'm out.

Y&R: July 2025 Spoilers
Monday July 14 US (Friday July 11 CDN) Damian and Cane are talking in the maze, talking about Lily and about their late fathers (Colin and the man who raised Damian). They are drinking from the same bottle. Damian gets woozy. Someone wearing gloves is hiding, watching them, holding a dagger. Cane helps Damian to sit down on a bench. Damian wonders if he was drugged or poisoned by Cane. Cane points out they were drinking from the same bottle, and Cane begins to become woozy. They realize something is wrong and they should go. Cane tries to help Damian stand up, and at that moment, the lurker hurls the dagger into Damian's back. Cane holds Damian as he collapses, and just then Phyllis walks up to where they are in the maze. Oddly, Phyllis is carrying her purse in the maze. End of episode. Source: several Canadian recappers ***NOTE: one recapper says that the lurker was intending to throw the dagger into Cane but missed, and the dagger pierced Damian instead. Five different recappers: Recap #1 (Link) Recap #2 (Link) Recap #3 (Link) Recap #4 in two pages (Link) Recap #5 made in four consecutive posts (Link) I don't have a way to view the Canadian feed; so all I can do is relay what they said. The first three links have screencaps. The fifth link is the most detailed. EDIT to add: Forgot to mention that a few other characters got lost in the maze and said that it seemed darker, and they suspected that someone had rearranged the maze walls. Don't know if it was their imagination? Possibly real, since more that one character said the walls seemed rearranged. Did the murderer set it up to keep people corralled and away from the murder scene? Or (guessing) are the maze walls stationary but the guests *maybe* drugged and thus confused?

Perhaps the person who tries to commit murder. . . is Cane's assistant Carter? There would be no stakes in that, so it fits JG.

Daytime Emmy Nominees
Michael Fairman interviewed the nominees live on July 10th Three hours and 26 minutes total. Fairman said some actors couldn’t make it due to short notice. Eric Martsolf is there, although he's not listed in the YT description. They were on the live interview in this order: 1. Peter Bergman 2. Sharon Case 3. Eric Martsolf 4. Melissa Claire Egan 5. Greg Rikaart 6. Laura Wright 7. Michael Graziadei 8. Courtney Hope 9 and 10. Susan Walters and Linden Ashby together 11. Michelle Stafford 12 and 13. Linsey Godfrey and Paul Telfer together 14. Blake Berris is in Ireland, so he couldn’t do the live youtube. He did his interview with Fairman earlier in the day, and his interview was spliced into the end of this youtube.

BTG: July 2025 Discussion Thread
Thank you. It explains what Cady is trying to do. And yes that instructional vid explains the transatlantic accent well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vnkOFZKN0Dk I'm really glad to learn this. She seems to be following the Transatlantic pronunciation rules outlined in the video; but it doesn't seem to flow naturally. Meryl Streep was able to take on a special accents for films and make it believable. I adore Cady but she's not Meryl. Cady's accent needs more rehearsal and *consistency* -- if she wants it to sound like this is how Pamela naturally speaks.

Thank you for posting this. I'd never heard the term "transatlantic accent" before, so I looked it up. Found several different definitions. This seems to fit what you're saying?

Daytime Emmy Nominees
I've seen this debated in past years similarly . . . If it were based on the actor's entire year's performances then the category should reflect the character's relative importance on the canvas. [not implying that the Julie character is unimportant/important to the canvas.] But if were based on the character's importance within a story arc or within the episodes that the actor's submission reel is derived from -- then someone might consider themself a lead in the scenes being submitted? Is that true or not? I gather actors can choose to submit as lead or supporting? I mean Leo Stark is certainly not a lead character on the Days canvas. But maybe Rikaart considered himself to be a lead in the scenes he submitted?

Daytime Emmy Nominees
All of you here at SON already know all of this, of course. I'm not posting anything new in this post, LOL. I'm just posting as a way to vent out to the universe here: The actor nominations aren't for performances in storylines. They are nominations for reels of a few scenes cherrypicked from the entire eligibility year. (Different years have had different rules as to the amount of scenes and minutes that can be on the actor submission reel.) A person could have done lackluster acting in 99% of what aired all year. But they can still submit their few good scenes spliced into a reel. The nominations for best show and best writing aren't for storylines. They are usually for two episodes of the entire eligibility year. So a show might have 248 crappy episodes in the year, but they can still submit the two good episodes. The entire process seems meaningless to me. /end rant
