  1. They briefly had Mariah mention she was upset with being left out of Dominic's illness, but JG chose the less dramatic route and had Tessa explain their point of view and all is good in the world. Mariah should 1000% be LIVID they left her out of the loop. When she was having attachment issues to Dominic, everyone immediately hovered over her and nipped it in the bud. But Devon has attachment issues, reneges on a contract, and everyone treats him like he's a noble hero. 🙄
  2. Speaking of Melrose Place, how about Marcia Cross as Phyllis on Y&R? Or Laura Leighton as Morgan DeWitt on B&B?
  3. Though Krista Allen is knocking it out of the park with Taylor on B&B, I feel Kristian Alfonso could have been a good Taylor alternative. I've always been curious to see how Sabryn Genet would be as Carly on GH if she were able to continue acting.
  4. Yup! In contrast to January-February 2002, they were able to jampack into those two months: 1) Brooke going to Ojai, going into therapy, actualizing her feelings for Deacon, and revealing her pregnancy to Deacon. 2) Ridge working behind the scenes to rid Brooke of the CEO title because of her depressed condition. 3) Rick and Amber navigating their pregnancy, and Massimo coaching Rick into holding his own in the Forrester board meetings. 4) Brooke stopping Ridge on time from taking over Forrester leading to their fallout. 5) Amber discovering Brooke's Pregnancy, then Stephanie revealing it in press conference which led to Whip's introduction. 6) Whip discovering Brooke and Deacon's secret. They always excuse the fact that "it's difficult to tell multiple stories in a half hour", when it's simply not true. Brad Bell used to be able to write all of this.
  5. Am I the only one here who doesn't see Nina as going through some mental break, or am I being gaslit by the CarSon fans? They seem to be doing these mental gymnastics to analyze her behaviour as her being on the brink of insanity (i.e. creating a fantasy with an amnesiac man, grooming/manipulating Willow, etc.) when she hasn't gone through that type of breakdown since 2014-15. What I see is a simply a woman (and a grieving one at that) who ended up in a complicated situation and just makes one questionable choice after another. I also see it as karmic justice for Carly after the way she handled the Nelle situation with Jax.
  6. I don't remember hearing that at all about TB - I remember hearing that about Erin Sanders as Eden on Y&R. I do know TB went to a very prestigious acting school that had a very limited acceptance rate, but did not have anything to do with her first few months as Carly.
  7. Tamara Braun arguably had a very rough start as Carly after taking over Sarah Joy Brown but really came into her own after about a year.
  8. Preview re: Jack's mysterious texts for next week. Don't wanna get my hopes up because JG might somehow screw this one up, but it's something!
  9. I second this! And can someone explain to me why KeMo fans are as rabid as they are??
  10. Some jokes really do just write themselves. It seems that Josh Griffith is to Jason Thompson the way Bob Guza was to Steve Burton.
  11. I would have loved to see Sarah Brown in the role of Victoria, but she also isn't the type of actress to stay in the same daytime role for too long as she likes to continually challenge herself with different roles.
  12. Jenny Bransford still very much looks like herself. Looks like she's been busy in the Social Education Field over the last few years. I think SJB still looks like herself but she definitely lost a ton of weight - perhaps having celiac disease might have something to do with it?
  13. And ponders a relationship with a woman who don't play for his team.
  14. The track is actually called 3 A.M. 11 is the track number - it seems whoever inputted the track names into the Gracenote Database made a typo which is why everyone here is referring to it as 11.3 A.M.
  15. Chloe doesn't have a storyline beyond cockblocking anyone close to Adam. They should just have her go full out Tricia Dennison and have her kiss or sleep with Adam before Chelsea or Sally get a chance to. 😅
  16. Carly: "Look me in the eye and tell me you don't still have feelings for her" Sonny: "I dOn'T kNoW wHaT yOu WaNt Me To sAy" Pretty much says it all.
  17. I second this. Y&R seemed like it was low on energy in 2002 after having a bang up 2001. 2001 was also a really good year for B&B as so much had happened to shift the canvas - watch an episode from January and December - it's literally night and day. But I'll give 2001 to Y&R by a slight edge.
  18. I also compiled this a while back as a style guide for a video project I wanted to start a while back, obviously taking cues from Y&R's direction back then.
  19. I always gravitated towards Mike Denney's style of directing. I think the direction around the early 2000s in terms of actor blocking, camera panning and sweeping, lighting, rack focusing, and music were perfection and would still hold up well today. Y&R loved their soft zooms in this era - it's a cinematography technique that seems to have been lost in recent filmmaking with the advent of DSLRs (I mostly see dolly-style/gimbal-style shots nowadays).
  20. Post-Bill Bell (and my personal favourite year) I would say 2001 was very good from start to finish for both Bell soaps storyline-wise and production-wise, with 1999 and 2000 not being too far behind (yes, even the sperm-caper story, total guilty pleasure of mine). I was disappointed when they didn't show too many episodes from that year when last year's classics aired. It seems as though 2005 was a writer's room favourite year because a lot of things happened that forever changed the trajectory of some families during that year, also the last year Y&R was considered to be classic recipe by many.
  21. Not to mention, Nikki seemed to care about Joshua's death for literally only an episode, then poof! He was old news once she reunited with Victor. Diane and Joshua were done pretty dirty in that storyline.
  22. That's right, these clips used to be on YouTube in English years ago on a channel that used to post Shick and Megan/Tony clips. Gahh I'd love to share these with Sabryn.
