oooh you've got me really excited... I'm barely spoiled for any of seasons 2 or 3 so it's all fresh to me.

Falcon Crest
Resuming my Falcon Crest viewing after a break… Ep 16 - so much better than Ep 15 “Heir Apparent” aka the drunk driving afternoon special - the difference is night and day. Hopefully the show has permanently abandoned the “episode of the week” format. Notable that this ep is directed by Bill Duke. This ep was shortly after his big break directing episodic TV with Knots Landing. @Vee, don’t know if you’re a FC fan, but I thought of you watching this ep.. there’s some cool Bill Duke directorial flourishes in this ep, like the framing of the scene at 34:00 when Melissa walks in on Lance and his one-nighter… and at the end when Melissa tells Lance she’s pregnant and she stuffs wedding cake in his gaping mouth as the photographer takes the “perfect picture”. (Also see below, Bill Duke directs another ep soon after) Ep 17 - Notable for Chao-Li speaking more than 1 sentence and not just being a background character. Unfortunately he’s still limited to carrying out Angela’s orders. He has such a compelling natural presence that I want to see more of him, and in his own story. Stephen Elliott as Douglas Channing - he was a bit stiff in the beginning. But he eventually won me over with his warm portrayal of a father to Emma and Julia. Douglas’ offer to take Emma to Paris was so poignant. I can’t help but wonder if Douglas should have lived longer? Did the plot demand he die in this episode? Time will tell… but meanwhile, what a dramatic moment! Angela vs Chase is officially on! DA Martin Deering played by original Spider-Man and Sound of Music veteran Nicholas Hammond! I feel like Maggie got lost as a front-burner character as the season progressed. She’s devolved into a supportive and suffering wife. I’m confident season 2 will bring Maggie back to the spotlight she deserves. Haha Angela doesn’t care one way or another whether Lance is the father of Melissa’s baby. Ep 18 - Margaret Ladd was the MVP of this finale. There were some LOL moments like at the end when Angela told Emma to come along and Emma said “no thank you mother, when a gentleman (Cole) drives you somewhere, he’ll drive you home too” and Chase kissing Angela on the cheek after their devil’s bargain. Richard Channing’s name is introduced like a bolt of lightning out of the blue! Quite the set-up. Ep 19 - solid season-starter. They played a little fast-and-loose with the timeframe in advancing Melissa’s pregnancy, but we’ll let it slide. David Selby, hmmm… what do people think of him? From my viewings back in the 80s of seasons 5 and later, he struck me as lacking in sex appeal and low-wattage in charisma. But I hope to be proven wrong! Shannon Tweed - this is perhaps her first speaking part? Not Oscar-worthy but she has a nice presence that fits her role. I remember her saying in an interview that Diana was only slated for a few eps but it kept getting extended to last the full season. Ep 20 - Bill Duke again! There’s a fantastic long tracking shot following Melissa as she arrives at the surprise baby shower and is greeted by all the guests. LOL that Angela literally vows war to Chase’s face multiple times and he continues to be cordial. I continue to have no interest in Jamie Rose’s Vicki. Hopefully her upcoming May-December romance with Roy Thinnes is a bit more compelling. @kalbir - is the scene you mentioned the one where

Watching the Dec ’90 Danny and Cricket clips… I’ll always wonder what happened to Chase as played by Stephen Gregory…? During this timeframe, he is fully involved in the David Kimball plot… realizing that the woman he had dated, Cathy, was actually named Vivian… and had died in a freak accident. He also was being targeted for information by Diane. By early Feb ’91, he disappears (assumedly without a farewell scene) just as the David plot approaches the climax with Nina shooting him. Did something happen behind-the-scenes to hasten Chase’s exit? It would have made much more sense and heightened the dramatic tension even more, if David somehow murdered Chase just as Chase had discovered evidence to nail David. Also - it’s sad and ironic when Cricket fills in Danny about Scott and Lauren breaking up over “another woman”… and Danny vowing the same thing will never happen to them… and LITERALLY the same thing happens, as both Sheila and Phyllis drugged and raped their respective targets Scott and Danny.

Hi @bgrape, thank you so much for uploading these clips! I’ve made it through most of the ’90 Danny and Cricket scenes. I really enjoyed seeing everything starting in June, when they moved in together as “roommates”. I appreciated seeing the maturation towards marriage for the first time. I also didn’t realize that Cricket had an entire rehearsal period before her 8/15/90 dance performance, so it was fun to see that Most of all, I enjoyed the Nov post-wedding scenes in the “after wedding three” file. Most of these scenes have not been previously available, except for the helicopter ride. I didn’t realize they had so many memorable honeymoon outings, filmed on location! I did have to laugh at how often the camera focused on the “Hyatt Regency” logo I’m sure the Hyatt gave them free hotel rooms in exchange for being featured on the show. But wow, filming on location elevates the production value immensely… even just the scenes in bed in their room… the natural Hawaiian light on D&C’s faces was just exquisite. After the helicopter dropped them off after their ride, the entire segment with them at the beach was a blast. It was set to the song “Call it love” by Poco which was a big hit at the time but I hadn’t heard in a long time. I never thought I would have seen Michael Damian in a grey leopard-print speedo! I also really appreciated seeing the developments in the David story. I was always confused how D&C went from trusting David to suspecting him. I’m still a little confused, as I don’t understand how they ever started to trust him. In fact, in the post-wedding scenes, Cricket gives him a kiss on the cheek after he arranges for their ride on a private yacht! But then at the end of the “after wedding three” file, D&C have a conversation when they reasonably try to puzzle out who could have framed Danny for the cocaine and circled back to David. I can’t wait to move on to the Jan ’91 scenes… there has literally been zero content ever available for Jan ’91 so this is incredibly special. Thanks again

Ep 14: Ana-Alicia is the shot in the arm this show desperately needed! I now see that this show had zero sex appeal. She is sex on a stick.

Knots Landing
I always cringe thinking back to the press "Knots Landing's first african-american family!" like it was something to celebrate vs something to be ashamed of, that it took until season 9

Knots Landing
Knots sadly seemed especially averse to welcoming back beloved former cast members. They brought back Claudia L and of course Donna M in the last season but I'm struggling to think of anyone else.

Wow, you're weren't kidding... ep 12 changed the game! Night and day. The ep had a much-needed narrative propulsion, and an umbrella story to bring all the characters together in a compelling way. Lana Turner floated down to Tuscany like an angel from heaven. Her performance is glossy in that classic manner - she is acting on an entirely different show than all of the other characters. But it didn't matter - Jacqueline vs Angela in the cemetery was a clash of the titans. And Lana did have palpable maternal chemistry with Robert Foxworth. Even Vickie wasn't as annoying as usual. I'm glad I stuck it out in watching all the previous eps. I needed to see ep 9 "Dark Journeys" to understand how Vickie is flailing in her life and would grasp her grandmother and life in France like a life-preserver. Emma continues to be the MVP scene-stealer. I also enjoyed Julia's enjoyment at Angela's discomfort. Can't wait for Lana's return! PS - how sad that Dolores Cantu's entire stint in ep 11 as Melissa Agretti consisted of a scene with one line "Oh, that would be wonderful!" They could have just cut her scene entirely. Bring on Ana-Alicia!

Shannon Tweed said as much in an ‘86 SOD interview, when she was on Days, and reminiscing on her time on FC. She was grateful for FC showing her the ropes of television acting, such as which camera to face when. But she criticized the lack of glamour on FC… she wondered why the show didn’t go “all the way”, like Dynasty did.

Great find, thanks!! And a Sheila ep, no less. Wow, that is a significant new detail that Sheila was going to follow Scott to Boston! If only Scott hadn’t gotten her job back, he could have saved himself years of drama. Incredible Nathan and Dru scenes. Always love the Circle of Fear “horn of death”, haha Fun to see David laying on the charm with Nina. How I THRILL to see new sets like that park! We are so starved in 2023 for any sets that require a budget. Ugh, hate seeing Peter B’s Jack making inroads with Nikki. Nikki and Victor are always the WORST in hospital settings, haha. Nikki is always overly emotional to the point of hysteria, and Victor is always over-demanding and not respectful of a doctor’s experience. My biggest wish for future June ‘90 eps that hopefully surface someday, is the follow-up to Gina’s suicide attempt. Patty Weaver just did an interview where she talked about Gina going crazy when visiting Clint in jail, and jumping over the partition separating them! Sounds amazing

Ep 9 “Dark Journey” was the worst yet! Vickie runs away from home and into the clutches of a pornographer. God help me get through these “self-contained episodes”. I was thrilled when Michael Zaslow made his appearance as the villain - he saved the ep.
