GH: February 2026 Discussion Thread
I forget Bailey exists every time they don't mention her, which is often. Last week is the first time she appeared in ages for me to recall her existence. I have never been able to accept that Maxie has one kid, let alone three. But here we are. I do think Spixie deserve the kind of proper blowout happy wedding BLQ and Chase got two years ago - unlike the mediocre Chases, a lot of the longtime audience actually likes Spixie and that is the kind of shared event to help do a soft reset of the canvas and set up new stories. (Nor would they need to be together forever) But they haven't prioritized them in years. They should've struck when the iron was hot again with Kirsten in 2024, because the improved scripts made both her and Bradford shine.

GH: February 2026 Spoilers
There was no spoiler in anything you posted from that site. As jane said, you were linking to a clickbait article from a sketchy website that referenced a weeks-old scene with Dante and Elizabeth which has already aired where they were talking about unrelated characters. That website then offered an opinion wondering if Dante and Liz could be paired. That's not a spoiler and it is not fact. There is nothing credible or sourced that indicates Dante and Liz are being romantically paired beyond a few potential chemistry test scenes. Speaking of actual material that is coming up on the show, here's Genie Francis talking about tomorrow.

ALL: Sexiest men on soaps
Timothy D. Stickney (OLTL) John Loprieno (OLTL) Kamar de los Reyes (OLTL - mostly in the 90s, his second run often made his character deeply unappealing) The immortal Drake Hogestyn Phillip Brown (Loving/The City) Michael Nader (AMC) Gregg Marx (ATWT) Roscoe Born (only on The City - I didn't see his original OLTL run) John Callahan (AMC - again, in the 90s) Shemar Keith Hamilton Cobb (AMC) Sean Blakemore (GH - they totally wasted him, he was the finest man on that show for years) Maurice Benard (GH in the '90s - don't come at me, y'all know what time it was) Brandon Barash (GH/DAYS) Dominic Zamprogna (GH) Joel Crothers (Dark Shadows/EON, etc.) Michael Levin (RH) Timon Kyle Durrett (BTG) Sean Freeman (BTG) Greg Vaughan (BTG/GH) Lami (BTG - if he stops bobbing his head) Scott Evans (OLTL) Adrian Anchondo (GH) David Fumero (OLTL) Thorsten Kaye (OLTL in the 90s) Mark Valley (DAYS) James Scott (DAYS) Eric Martsolf (DAYS/PSSNS) Paul Telfer (DAYS) And many more. I think some guys like John Bolger, etc. are sexier in other things I've seen them outside daytime. For me, my first exposure to Bolger being his slimy character on OLTL (who we were later meant to see as a sexy leading man) colored a lot of things. I've seen some of him on AW and I do think he's hot, but it was different.

Nathan was never much of a character. He was simply the final result of a decade-long project to find a 'hunk' to pair with Kirsten Storms across multiple regimes. He still is a nobody to me beyond his lovely body and nice voice. I was not some Spixie diehard. I soured on them due to their dysfunctional cycles of behavior and I preferred Spinelli with poor Ellie for a long time, but they won me over again in the last couple years. It's typical if this show disrespects him for the short term though and expects us to want Maxie and Plastic Man #5 back together after Spinelli has been devoted to her. Then if Paevey quits or they scrap this whole story suddenly she'll remember his love and be full of apologies. But hopefully they'll surprise me next week.

I don't think they're actually going there. I think it's probably a one-off scene or two. You'll see a handful of people on Twitter begging for them to make this boring couple happen. But I don't think it will. I think they have no idea what they're doing with Dante, other than they don't want to put him back with Lulu for whatever reason. And I think a big part of that is the show just does not want to deal with their being a popular preexisting couple or having to showcase either of them vs. other priorities. I don't think either actor is preventing it.

ALL: The First Year of a Soap - Growing Pains, Teething Issues, etc...
All I'll speak to here is BTG. Given the very circumspect way MVJ has talked about the recast and talked about the necessity of making a change followed by Maurice Johnson's less than politically correct comments re: LGBT issues in a later interview, I think it was a personality conflict BTS. As for Guza and Ron Carlivati, IIRC MVJ has said they came in as a favor to her for the first year/early months to help get it off the ground (Guza as co-HW and RC I think on breakdowns) and were always set to leave. And yes, Andre and Dani marrying and becoming a serious relationship was also a change of plans per Karla Mosley's interviews. They appear to have blessedly abandoned their planned Andre/Ashley endgame in its entirety.

RIP: In Memoriam Thread
So many legends in the last few days, from Duvall to Reverend Jackson. And now the great Tom Noonan, another screen presence I thought was immortal. Wonderful in so many things, but I know him best as the Red Dragon in Michael Mann's Manhunter (adapted from Thomas Harris' Red Dragon).

They were clearly under pressure to cast a hotter, hunkier Lucky and it was a huge mistake. He was terrible in the role and should never come back. I thought Faison had a lot of menace early in his '99 stint, but it got silly pretty quickly. The Felicia angle was awful, and Laura not being involved for whatever BTS reason.

Yeah, we tried to puzzle this out a few years ago. According to Racina's interviews he was also part of the writing team and I think possibly one of the co-HWs from summer '80 (he claims he was there in time for the famous Wyndham's Department Store sequence) til either late '83 or '84. I can't remember which. What we surmised based on his statements is Monty kept his exact role (as well as I think Leah Laiman's) relatively quiet due to the strike in the early '80s. IIRC Racina said the Ice Princess saga came direct from his own sci-fi/thriller novel "The Great Los Angeles Blizzard". But the original "Ice Princess" concept before that, whatever it was, was Pat Falken Smith. Monty took Racina on as a HW and dumped her in part because PFS would not tell her what the purpose of the Ice Princess was before the strike.- GH: Classic Thread

Oh, for sure. Which I think is part of why the Black canvas is so incestuous and bland, but then most of the canvas sans Drew, Willow and Michael is. (Well, the incest part is still there) There were also a fair amount of fans pissed when Emma returned much edgier and wild shortly before this time last year. I was all for it - you cannot improve on what Kimberly McCullough did with Robin, so it makes no sense for her daughter to be a carbon copy. I'd always wanted Emma to return a troublemaker. They've quieted her down a bit, but Bruner still has real talent and spikiness and it makes sense for Emma to continue to be in that young Brenda mold: A good heart, but ambitious, brash and at times a hellraiser who makes huge mistakes and does bad things. That kind of pushback is not just the province of FB fans; some just have an image in their head of who this child or that one should be, though I disagree with it. But it's the audience FV cultivates that seems to just want non-soap non-conflict couples at times, and certainly nothing edgier from the characters of color. Or at least, that's what Frank thinks they all want.- GH: February 2026 Discussion Thread
