  1. From what I understand, they were on a shoestring budget so they may not have even tried. It's too bad because I've always liked "Nobody Loves Me Like You Do" (not only Whitney and Jermaine's version, but the country rendition by Anne Murray and Dave Loggins).
  2. Did anyone else watch/like Alex Trebek's version of Classic Concentration? I used to like watching that one with Grandma. ❤
  3. Nice catch, @jam6242!! ☺
  4. Here's an interesting bit of trivia. Elmon Webb was the show's art director. His marriage provided the show with the name of one of its families, and the full name of its matriarch. https://www.nytimes.com/1969/08/16/archives/virginia-dancy-teacher-wed-to-elmon-webb-set-designer.html?fbclid=IwAR19mZysJMAjWfITM5yNqEuk2pmW9rcUk_qrtCWMRpybIfY-k-5-A7xgqrY
  5. I'm surprised this hasn't been brought up yet: https://www.npr.org/2019/10/30/774838950/jeffrey-epstein-case-expert-hired-by-his-family-suggests-doubt-on-suicide-findin
  6. I hadn't heard that. I have no idea.
  7. That sounds interesting. 😎
  8. WEWS Channel 5, the ABC affiliate in Cleveland, did air PC for its entirety. PC aired at 12:30, right after the local news. After the series finale, the noon news went from half an hour to a full hour.
  9. So do I...especially in the case of Theresa. She was a codependent mess. Those are great ideas. I think a big problem was keeping people in the same stories with the same scene partners year after year. Shaking things up a little would have helped.
  10. You're welcome! She was great and didn't deserve what she got from JFP.
  11. PC did air on Cleveland's ABC affiliate (WEWS Channel 5) for its duration. However, EDGE did not air in Cleveland when the show switched from CBS to ABC in 1975. It did, however, air in the Akron/Canton market.
  12. What a great photo. I never saw Heche's Vicky with Ryan, only Buchanan's. Did Heche or Buchanan have more chemistry with PMV?
  13. Thank you very much!! ☺ Yes, WKYC still serves as the NBC affiliate for both Cleveland and Akron.
  14. The show had a good premise, she had some good ideas and the cast was filled with both seasoned vets and talented up and comers. It's a shame that there weren't more behind-the-scenes people to stabilize things, and that the show itself was the victim of bad timing. I still wish Unsung Hollywood would dedicate an episode to this show.
  15. Good point. 😂 Both on this show and DAYS, JER wrote pretty much every male character to have the IQ of a turnip.
  16. Agreed, although writing the character as dumber than a box of rocks didn't help. Somehow, EM managed to rise above that aspect and TS didn't.
  17. Yes, he wrote some of Ken George Jones' songs himself. After RH, he wrote for many other soaps - eventually becoming co-headwriter of Y&R. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trent_Jones
  18. I have not been able to find out whether or not The Doctors aired on my local NBC affiliate (WKYC Channel 3 in Cleveland) right up to the series finale in December 1982. I know many other major markets dumped it before NBC did, as what later happened with its other low-rated soaps like SB. Maybe one of these days, I will have to check out the microfiche in the library to find daily TV listings from back then.
  19. I think it's a kick to see Peggy Cass regularly on these reruns of classic game shows while Retro TV is airing her run as the nutty but loving hospital receptionist Sweeney on The Doctors. Of course, some of her game show persona spilled over into her soap character...but at this point in the reruns of TD, Sweeney is written with a bit more substance - taking an emotionally wounded nurse's aide under her wing and into her home, essentially becoming a mother figure. In any case, Peggy Cass seemed like a very sharp lady.
  20. Of all the people in Hollywood, about the only person I would have expected this from less is Jensen!!
  21. At least she didn't sing "Your Cheatin' Heart". 😉😂
  22. I had never even heard of Faith Daniels until now, but I did some searching around and found this interesting article. It was published just three months ago: https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.businessinsider.com/nbc-trump-mar-a-lago-faith-daniels-kiss-interview-2019-7 Who would have guessed then that someday she'd be involved in something even soapier than Generations?
