ARTICLE: BREAKING NEWS: Kelly Monaco OUT at ‘General Hospital’ — EXCLUSIVE
Well, I was waiting for the Toups response. That said...it does make me thinking of the saying about you know how producers/tv shows/casts feel about you as a person given how you exit a show. And if they kill you off...well....

I admit I am wondering if that is the end END cuz it seem like a break for an Act II. At least by the dialogue and not the execution. They even kept the Paris sets around and added even more characters for a good minute. ED acted her butt off. I agree. Up until the last week or so, it's been a struggle to watch. A STRUGGLE. And that struggle started once that story ended. Now...GH is a struggle. lol. But I know what I'm looking forward to seeing so...

GH: August 2024 Discussion Thread
8-14 I think it says something that we have gone from stories around the potential generation next on this show with PM to now going back to the kids/tweens under the New/Old Writers. And even the kids/tweens as written under PM were better written. I might even say in hindsight like the soap kids/tweens of old days. It definitely shows the building blocks that PM left behind that I felt invested in James running off, more than likely to see Cody. That friendship was built very organic and made James less of a Bebe's Kid brat and made deeper by his new connection to Cody by Mac and Maxie. So that I cared about. On the other hand, I saw those Violet/Tracy scenes and went...why is SHE still here? A first for me on this board so even I am over Ms. Violet. But let me back back...to the Kraze breakup. Or as I am currently thinking of it in my head...THAT BIT@H. As in Natalia. I guess I have mixed feelings about it. Regardless of how it started, I guess I just loved that Kristina finally got a storyline. And the writers were at least wise enough to back away from the surrogacy storyline to allow for a recast and recast *cough*recasts*cough* to grow into their characters before they started yet another main storyline. And Kraze started so meet-cute and slow. Under PM, the potential for conflict was there from the surrogacy to the entrance of Natalia. So regardless of why on the breakup, it was still Natalia getting what she wanted...which I felt it was going to go that way under PM...or as least added another complication eventually. What I saw was open-ended and I hope Blaze does come back. But knowing it's probably final is...abrupt. Like the bad guy won. And to make it worse...THAT BIT@H is getting some of the hardest propping I have ever seen. Because now Sonny is backing her. Over long time friends/'family' Lois and BrookLynn. REALLY??? Wasn't Sonny going to be hands off in his partnership with those two under PM. But nooooooooooooooooo we have to deal with THAT BIT@H. And the fact that characterization already had Lois and BrookLyn not liking Natalia and they didn't even put up a fight now? So transparent. That said...I loved every minute of Blaze gathering her mother before firing her a$$. If JL ain't coming back, her last scene was great cuz she was on fire. I am just sad that it's clear these New/Old Writers are going to bend the show into a pretzels to justify Natalia still being in town. Something I don't mind still being in town...the conflicting feelings building between Drew/Willow. It is a mess. And I do love that Willow verbalized how she felt to Drew. One thing that I have not been liking has been it all was feeling forced versus within characters' feelings. So it was good to hear her say it. Now Drew just needs to let us in on how he's feeling toward her. WITHOUT downplaying how Drew feels about Nina or Nina feels about him. All points of view. Yeah...as I suspected...it feels like they are going to play Anna/Brennan for highjinks writing. There were more layers under PM with them that I would have liked to see explored. That said I don't mind 'The Beast' with Carly. He's being VERY clear on how he feels there. And Carly still hasn't figured out he is the reason she's out yet, has she? More of that, please. So John is going to be the out-and-out villain then? Well...it gives him direction. But there the New/Old Writers go already making Ava into a victim? I would rather she be the spider and he the fly. Excuse me for being confused...but I thought Cody and Sasha were more or less already official? Why do we keep getting the same scene every couple of weeks? It really isn't. But when you have someone interfering behind the scenes well... You know what?

8-21 THANK YOU, VICTOR!!! I loved every moment of him gathering Billy all the way together. Well worth making them the cliffhanger at the end of 8-20 episode. And Nikki playing Lady MacBeth to Victor's MacBeth is just perfection to me. Yes, Nikki is Victor's moral center, but sometimes they are on the same wavelength and watching them scheme together (with two people who know how to act and have chemistry separately and together) to undermine Billy has been the highlight of this week so far. I really enjoyed the Nikki/Lily scenes and how they talked about Katherine. And Nikki having a good pulse on how Lily feels. So the end scene...great stuff. As for Billy...#TeamLily #TeamVictor #TakeBillyDown. I was shocked to see the preview for this week where Billy just upped and fired Lily. And watching it for real? I was pleasantly surprised to see she's not giving up Chancellor without a fight. GO LILY!!! I wonder if the fact that Jill does not know Billy fired Lily will play into her fighting back. Fingers crossed. Outside of that, I liked the Jack/Diane scenes. It also continued to show how good they are together as the Abbott patriarch and matriarch. It was just a simple talk, but I liked getting to see Jack's point of view, Diane's point of view, and Diane getting him to talk to her about things he don't often talk about aloud in terms of Billy and Kyle. Cuz to be real...do we want a repeat of Billy vs Kyle when Billy falls on his face again? lol. I was not feeling Kyle/Claire at all. Their scenes only made me think...what do you all prefer now...the GCAC or Society as the Go-To spot? Cuz we are not getting the Colonnade Room again.

I agree. The closest to darkness that Adam has played to date has and still is Marcus Coloma's exit storyline. His spiraling as Spencer blackmailed him and the darkness was leaking out of his face as the scene progressed. And when he turned on a dime in his confrontation with Ava where he went from the lovelorn puppy prince mourning the loss of the great love they had to a Cassadine scorned that was going to teach Ava the lesson she had forgotten with the loss of Kiki by going after Avery as payback for helping Spencer. There's been a subtle schemer to Adam after that for a bit. But full on Cassadine darkness...not since then. Like I said earlier today...I would love and I do mean LOVE to see all of Laura's children on at the same time. It's been decades. So my fingers are crossed. I'm a big Laura fan so don't mind me. While I love all my legacy characters she was second only to Bobbie in my eyes. *eyes mist a little at Bobbie*

Yeah, I think Adam Huss would be great as Nik. He just has to be more consistent with his acting. I loved his scenes with Laura and Spencer (and recently rewatched) as Nik found out that Spencer and Ava were in cahoots, leading to his exit on a regular basis by Ava. But I have found his appearances in hindsight very hit and miss. When Laura was on the hunt for him, Adam pulled off the scheming prince IMHO when he was scheming at the bank before anyone knew for sure he was out of his coma. And every time Adam had a scene with Maura West, he still plays the love Nik has for Ava which makes me swoon every time. He can also play the darkness with her as shown in his final confrontation with Ava. Outside of that, I found him off after such a strong start, replacing Marcus Coloma. One thing I can't take away from him, when he's on screen, I feel Adam Huss IS acting versus phoning it in. And duh...he is cute. hehe. Another reason I keep cheering for him to get a contract. Howso? If you don't mind explaining. I'm curious and want to see what you are noticing.

GH: Mulcahey OUT!
I know @titan1978 had a really good theory on how they felt PM would have written Ava out of the hole she was being written into. I honestly believe PM was not going to write her out. Punish her like the villains of old yes, but write out no. He gave her wiggle room to redeem herself. Very off. re: Sonny. But did Maurice Benard really deny it?

GH: Lulu's Miracle | promo (week of August 26, 2024)
LOL. Let a boy dream. I'm happy at least they are actively casting. 😜 But seriously...to think at the start of the year, it was seeming impossible that we were getting none of Laura's kids. Now possibly all three? Something I hoped for btw. Regardless of the writing shift, THIS makes me somewhat excited enough to push through my catch-up binge. Well this and that clip of Silver Fox Ric I saw

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Hahah!!! It's funny you mentioned that since I just woke up and was looking for any hints for the RHoDubai reunion. What is the first thing I see? La Dame Grande promoting the next season. lol. Same. You could count on RHOA and RHOBH to give you great seasons at the same time!!!! The good ole days. I agree. It would be nice if these latter day producers had the early Carlos King touch, but alas. In the good news front, I've begun my catch up on OC at least.

GH: Mulcahey OUT!
Ah! Okay. Good to know. Yeah, I agree with that as well. May felt like the middle of his arc...with June/July being where it was climaxing or turning into a new story or turn. Ava's visit to the pharmacist comes to mind when she told him to keep doing it with a smirk on her face. Yeah...I'm still recovering from Sonny almost jumping off the roof Friday one week and not talking to Jason to starting Monday talking to Jason like old times. The definition of jarring.

GH: Mulcahey OUT!
Well said. I always wonder at PM being picked up on as a HW since from what I've seen he has had interference every single time and/or not enough time to establish a clear presence. So how can one truly know if he would be a good one?

GH: Mulcahey OUT!
Now that you are making me think of it...did we ever find out who wrote during the strike. Because yes, that had good momentum as well. Yeah...it seem like Joss and Dex were making their way back to each other. But the writing change made their reunion so abrupt. Not helped that they stopped building up Dex's character which PM was trying to do. I liked that he had his own story, giving him and PCPD complexity. I liked his bonding with Dante and Chase. And now that seems gone. Yes! Classic in modern times. Showing that sometimes the old ways work best. I just wished it showed in the ratings more. It might have if given time. Yeah. Meh. I was shocked to see Jason and Liz (very) slowly circling each other again. Meanwhile, PM clearly paid attention to comments and fans because everyone had talked about Jason's parenting skills for years. That story of his kids and his return wrote itself. My apologies for looping around, but yes!! It was like a lovely case of building bricks and I really wanted to see the full picture of what PM planned to do with Anna/Laura vs Sonny. You had them separately call him out. You have the schism show. You saw Anna get a clear smoking gun per Dex AND the wedding attack. Laura maneuver Molly to take the case. It was building to be a classic umbrella tale and that whole town would have been divided and might have shed some light on who Sonny is now mortality wise. And bonus...all three are on contracts and should have been frontburner with no abrupt disappearances. Then tie in Ava with the meds or even Pikeman climaxing right before the actual Trial of Sonny and...just smh. And now we are back to meh. PM did such a good job making me like characters that I felt indifferent to before or not even like. I would have liked to see the rest of Dex hazing storyline. It gave the audience something to relate to ON SCREEN at that and gave him more character and more of a circle (Chase, Dante, Curtis) outside of Joss. And that was nice to see. Play that potential gray matter. I agree. During the run, you definitely got a feel of where everyone was coming from. And I mean everyone. You now make me wonder if anything would have come of the simmering resentment between Drew to Jason...which could have been a whole other storyline post-Pikeman. Though I would have thought they would shift Jason's story after that to his kids. But like you said...FV didn't give PM a chance cuz the potential was there.

GH: August 2024 Discussion Thread
8-12 Well, I had to get around to it some time, didn't I? It's a given that I'm sticking around for the returns for much discussed reasons. But as I say on other threads, it was already getting to be a chore before CVE's name officially popped up on the screen. However, I don't like to think negatively which is what I was saying before that name officially popped up on the screen. So I cannot promise I won't drag or read like @titan1978 did a few weeks back and I loved because it echoed a lot of how I felt. However, I do like to see positive beats, and I do give credit where it's due. But if B&B can bounce back after months of bad writing and Y&R can find some form of momentum after losing it and being unevenly slow after two weeks of throwing things at the wall and seeing what sticks...then I can at least hope I see momentum pop up here since 'action' is back glancing at posts here and there. That said...seeing Natalia walk into Kristina's room to get her to break up with Blaze. As soon as I saw her in the door I was like THIS BIT@H! In the credit where it's due department...I liked how they had Willow go back to nursing. I thought that was set up well and didn't feel jarring. KMcMil did a great job showing her remembering how she feels about helping others. I'm waiting for the moment that I can join the majority of people who keep saying TJ and Molly have not gotten much focus on the baby loss aftermath. From where I'm watching, it does not seem the case. Yes, the focus is on Kristina primarily, but I cannot say or see that they are not getting nothing. Sorry. It appears they are doing a slow burn on a rift coming between them and I felt that was being done well. In my weeks of not watching, I still thought about TJ breaking down in the apartment...not knowing Molly was on the other side of the door and just walked away. And this episode TJ is furious at Molly for being so closed off. I feel their conflict is very organic and sadly realistic from personal experience. If anything, it is making me think of Nick and Sharon losing Cassie on Y&R where one was breaking down while the other person was closing off. And I feel both of them are doing a great job. SMH at Nina. It's already clear...just like with what the New/Old Writers are doing with Ava...that they are dumbing her down again without any nuances, and it's sad to watch since I've enjoyed the Nina/Drew arc under PM...and the potential for where the addition of Willow to it will go. I do love that Maxie seems to still have the new fire (and KS has been looking great) she had under PM's writing. MMmmm my Beast. lol. I am happy to see Brennan stay and why I thought that. But that was while PM was writing. I'm unsure I feel as good with these New/Old Writers. That said, Charles Mesure did have great chemistry IMHO with both LW and FH so good to see the New/Old Writers playing him with BOTH of them. And aha! Finally someone re: Anna figured out he's behind Carly being free.

B&B: August 2024 Discussion Thread
8-21 Wow. It took Steffy until Wednesday to confront Hope. I didn't know whether it shows how invested I've gotten in the show again, or if it's Lloyd Gold writing. LOL. That said I liked that Finn told Steffy. And yeah, Steffy was right. But I didn't like how she was going off on him. Yeah, Finn can be surprisingly naive about people, but that's part of the reason you love him, Steffy. She was low blowing him a little too much for me. I do hope that if Hope is going to be catty about Steffywhen she is not in the room, she will be giving it to Steffy, too. After all, the real reason Hope is into Finn is that she feels he can do better than Steffy. Just own it, Hope. Earn the slap you have coming. I can't believe that the Luna thread vanished after Monday. So far. So is Luna cray cray? I mentally roll my eyes every time I see NuTaylor. But lord, if those writers aren't trying. I just think KA's reintro as NuTaylor was better.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
So how is filming looking? NJ just ended. Not missed. Meanwhile Teresa is starring on other shows. Dubai is about to end in a month's time. OC is airing, hitting its midpoint NEXT TIME: NY, SLC RHOM...well I was wrong and filming starts next month so I guess we are not seeing them until next year. I want to say either RHOA and RHOP have wrapped or will be very, very soon. Same for BH. So will those be the next HW shows to air. Kinda nice for RHOA/BH since they used to air together in the fall/winter. So...I miss?

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
But I feel we have been calling it that since the Season 1 reunion and Production is wise to keep that undercurrent always going. Well...as for reunion tea...from what little I've seen. Brooks got blindsided by Taleen or her husband and went off online on her. And Ayan I believe. And Brooks is keeping tight with Lesa. That's all I've noticed. Well...Brandi does know how to be a leech so we will see. I know I'm slowly going to catch up...lol. Thoughts coming soon...that midseason trailer was gold.

Y&R: August 2024 Discussion Thread
8-20 Uh oh. I feel momentum building. Again. Which is good. There has not been much of it since the climax of Ashley's second arc in her Alters storyline. You know I've lived for Summer vs Audra. I thought it was too early with the actresses when the Kyle/Audra fling happened. But now that both actresses have more experience, it's great to watch them go at it. And awwww at Kyle and Summer maybe approaching an agreement as well as Kyle and Audra coming to a bit of a truce. Billy continues to be an prick. And we know it's because he suspects Chelesa is lying to him. So I don't like him projecting onto Lily. But oooooo that that very slick Victor/Nikki tag-team that ended this episode. If I had time...I might watch the next episode. Victor was a hoot throughout the episode. Good to see Chance a little bit more. Though he tried to warn Billy...
