  1. He's right about vaccinating teachers. We should not be asking people to put their lives at risk in order to teach our children. That goes for daycare workers as well. We should have been smarter in the beginning and paid everyone who works with the public a monthly amount to stay home, but communism. 🙃 At least we don't seem that far off from everyone who wants a shot getting one. I feel like we are very lucky that scientists were able to come up with a vaccine so quickly. Also lucky that this virus didn't have a higher death rate. Now we know that we are going to be seriously f*cked if a more serious virus hits because so many people out there are just completely unwilling to cooperate.
  2. Are you doing ok @Khan I've read there are rolling blackout happening in Oklahoma. Parts of Nebraska too, but so far not in Omaha. They've told us to brace for it though.
  3. No surprises here, I guess.
  4. Yeah, I've come to realize you are right about this. Why bother to compromise with the R's on this matter. It's not a good move politically and they have been bad faith actors for years now.
  5. Yes!! I'm old enough to remember when both Lou Dobbs and Maria Bartaromo (sp) seemed like perfectly rational and intelligent business reporters. I really liked Maria back in her CNBC days and I was thoroughly shocked by what she became. You're right. The numbers are just astounding though.
  6. Dear God in heaven. How is this possible?
  7. This is simply delicious. This lawsuit against Fox is excellent on so many fronts. I hope it brings them to their knees. Perfect!!
  8. ^ The world does not make sense. Giving someone with no medical care experience responsibility over vaccines? Canceling a vaccine because of medical debt?? I don't care if he owed a million dollars that is f*cked up.
  9. ^ Greedy bastards.
  10. Yes, and he was still doing good at 100 years old!! People like this just amaze me. Me too. Good and bad in everyone I suppose.
  11. That is so sad. Just imagine how much he saw in his 100 years on this planet. Damn!
  12. These protesters are incredibly brave. Who knows if they will ever be heard from again.
  13. 🤣
  14. I love this. "other than Pence's VP salary, they don't have any significant consistent earnings". So his income total for 4 year as VP was $928,000 and he can't afford a place to live? My heart bleeds. I have a feeling they'll figure something out.
  15. Whatever the initial threshold number this issue remains, which is why I'm for lowering it. They aren't going to give it to everyone. The optics of that would be a killer. At the same time, it's far from a hill I would die on. I'd rather see lower income people get it than get stuck on a cut off number. I would say that if people were making $300,000 in 2019 and now need a $1,400 stimulus check, they are poor money managers though. And yes, I've seen the idea of figuring it all out at tax time in the press. I wouldn't argue with that because we all know people who don't have the sense to save no matter how much they make, but like I said that would be an impossible sell, imo.
  16. Biden can just do things like send out the $1,400 checks by executive order right? I have to agree that the income thresholds should be up for negotiation. Upper middle class people do not need $1,400. Giving that kind of money to families with incomes of $300,000 is not going to stimulate anything except maybe the stock market.
  17. Good question.
  18. MM never ceases to amaze me with hypocrisy.
  19. I meant I'm worried there will be an assassination attempt.
  20. Me either. I've come to see campaign "promises" as simply a vision of what the candidates would like to do, if possible. What a relief to have people in office who aren't going to lie every time they open their mouths.
  21. That sick feeling in my stomach is finally gone.
  22. Thank you! I hope Biden/Harris spend as little time as possible together in public after tomorrow. At least We know NP and Leahy are on the side of right.
  23. I'm a little surprised she's like him. I figured she was more apathetic than cruel. I wasn't surprised she was an awful first lady though. She never wanted to be in public service. What a wasted opportunity. Does anyone know who will be the next President Pro Temp of the Senate? I can't help but wonder given how insane things are.
  24. I hate to say it but that doesn't even rate as anything close to serious child abuse to me. What can I say? I've gone through some real [!@#$%^&*]. Plus I've seen so much worse happen to other kids. Yeah, it's not good, but that was a fairly typical teenager/mother fight, imo. I couldn't hear everything she said though. Saying "I want you out of here" was over the line I guess.
