BTG: August 2025 Discussion Thread
Today's episode. Wow. Absolute perfection. We really saw some great performances. Malachi Malik was phenomenal as Elon. What a riveting performance. I was equally impressed by Jibre Hodges as Jacob. I really hope we meet more Hawthornes so we can see more of the family dynamic. I've never been an Ashley fan, but really enjoyed Jen Jacobs' performance today. I thought she really excelled, and the first time I saw the potential in the character. The Doug/Vanessa scenes were impressive, too. I hope we get to see their kids soon. And the Hayley/Randy twist. WTF? Now this is good soap.

Great commercial! I always loved both actresses. However, Judith didn't portray the role of Pat. Susan Trustman was the other actress who played Pat. Judith portrayed Lenore.

I don't recall Meredith having a baby. I know she got pregnant by Phillip, but I thought she had a miscarriage. I never considered the similarities between Meredith and Claire before; it's an interesting observation. That said, I much preferred Meredith over Claire. I never cared for Claire. Another similarity between Meredith and Claire is that they both had brothers. Did we ever meet Claire's brother?

I was always under the impression that Charles was Phoebe's first husband. As Slick said, she was married to the much younger Wade Matthews in the 80s. I think Wisner Washam and Lorraine Broderick were head writers at that time.

Xanthe, evidence of the Michigan setting could be found in the scenes when Rachel is on the run for shooting Mitch, which was in late 1980/early 1981. I remember a scene where they showed Bay City on a map of Michigan.

Alex Neil also showed up at Search for Tomorrow after Texas. I think she was on in 1984 in the storyline involving Sunny's rape.

Edge of Night (EON) (No spoilers please)
Jayne Bentzen is the actress who played Nicole at that point. She joined Edge the year before, replacing Maeve McGuire.

BTG: May 2025 Discussion Thread
Yes, it has. It was seen in the episodes when Dani broke into the house while Hayley and Bill were on their honeymoon. Dani and a Fairmont Crest security guard were also shown outside the house's entrance. Bill and Hayley were seen in the foyer when they returned. I imagine the set will resurface when there's a need for it.

It's been a while, but we have seen the foyer to Bill and Hayley's house as well as the exterior entrance to their house. The foyer was first seen in the premiere episode when Hayley met Vanessa at the house.

No. Ruth had an extramarital affair with David while married to Joe.

Out of curiosity, I just took a peek at the scene. I don't think that's a window. Rather, it's the entrance to the mausoleum.

Naomi was in Monday's episode, though the client wasn't. Naomi and Jacob were at Uptown with Chelsea, Allison, Derek, and Ashley. And what an amazing episode that was today. Tricia Mann-Grant was absolute perfection as was Ambyr Michelle. I cannot wait to see Dana mix it up with the Duprees, especially Anita.

I wasn't watching Guiding Light regularly when Locke Walls was on, but I think the woman in the song "Aubrey" had been inspired by Alexandra. I came across a blog post from 2013 that referenced the story and included YouTube clips, which are no longer available. According to the blog post, Locke died in Alex's arms.

@P.J. The Tynans weren't around very long. I think they showed up in December 1982 when L. Virginia Browne and Gene Palumbo were head writers. Helen was a nurse at Cedars. And Clay was her teenage son. Helen was recurring, while Clay was a contract character. Clay was definitely not in Vanessa's orbit. I recollect that he was part of the scene with the newly SORAS-ed Rick and Phillip. Clay may have been involved with the story involving Bert, Phillip, and Rick befriending Martin Bruhner, a terminally ill patient at Cedars. I know Phillip was an orderly and Mr. Bruhner was tutoring Rick, but I seem to recall that Clay was involved in this storyline, too. Perhaps he was an orderly, too. That happened during the period when the Cullitons and Gary Tomlin were interim head writers. Clay disappeared around May 1983 when Richard Culliton and Pamela Long's work started airing. Helen lasted a bit longer.

Peggy Sloane was the head writer who paired Rachel and Carl. I believe Carolyn Culliton was writing for All My Children during that period. Rachel and Carl were already married by the time Culliton's work as head writer began airing in November 1994.

Yes, the gorilla keeper was referenced on air as Sam Ratcliffe. Cass mentions his name as he and Felicia are walking to the gorilla pit on the June 23rd episode. I watched the episode recently and remember the scene as they were talking about Wallingford. Richard and Carolyn are mentioned by name in the same scene.
