  1. Wait. Roger raped Dinah? I don't recall that.
  2. Not sure who the surfer dude is, but the two women are Emily and Lisa DiNapoli. Emily was played by Julia Condra and she married the equally bland Greg Hughes. Lisa was played by Tawny Kitaen in this scene. I think Tea Leoni also played the role for a bit. They had another sister, Celeste, played by Signy Coleman. And, yes, Greg was horrible. It was around this time that I tuned out of SB. Paul Johannson, who played Greg, later appeared on One Tree Hill for many seasons.
  3. The way the article is written, I assumed that Oliver Crawford was an actor, not a character.
  4. Reed was the last actor to play Lloyd. Peter Haskell originate the role and was then replaced by Joe Lambie, who was then replaced by Robert Reed. Reed lasted about three months and then Lloyd was phased out. This was right around the time that Gary Tomlin was placed by Addie Walsh as head writer.
  5. As I recall, Alex's shooting was in November 1980. Beverlee didn't leave Texas until about a year later...around November 1981. There were a number of cast changes throughout Texas' run. Terry Dekker and Maggie Dekker were phased out, Max Dekker was recast and then killed off. Vicky's niece and nephew Bart and Samantha were gone quickly, along with Clipper Curtis. Reena's husband Kevin was dropped along with Dawn and Courtney Marshall. Even with some of the "new generation" characters, there were recasts. Elizabeth Berridge joined as Allison Linden and then was dropped in favor of Terri Garber. Ernie Garrett joined as Mark Wheeler and was replaced by Michael Woods. I think, by 1982, Texas had an excellent and strong cast. I know I was addicted!
  6. Perhaps the Reginald scene took place in 1990 when Phillip faked his death and left Springfield after he was implicated in Neil Everest's murder. Pam Long was still writing GL at this point.
  7. The jazz version of "Hold onto Love" premiered around May/June 1996 and only lasted a few months. It was universally panned by many viewers at the time.
  8. Man, your recollection of these stories is spot on! Thanks for bringing back memories of these incredible plots.
  9. I had the good fortune of being in a writing class with Harry on Cape Cod back in the summer of 2005. What a nice guy! He was workshopping a novel involving a soap opera. The man is one talented scribe! The instructor (author Bill Mann) and I had a great time talking with Harry about Kelly and Nola, and Charita Bauer.
