I think he was walking a line of being OTT and heartfelt. It's literally how one perceives it. He wasn't awful, he was just A LOT yesterday. I like the kid, but for me it was a no on that reaction.

I think NuClaire tries really hard to hide her accent and it effects her performance. She was really likable in the Day of Days event clip when she was using her normal voice and accent. ORK was a real find, but ID isn't the worst or anything. I think she does a pretty good job interacting with her family. It also helped ORK that she looked exactly like MM's daughter and DH's grand daughter. Durant just looks like a random blonde girl they cast.

I was going to ask about Theo's autism? Is it still a thing? Or is it like Phillip? He magically grew his leg back when JkJ came back. Phillip's leg isn't that big of a deal, but Theo's autism is lol. NuClaire seems too old to me. And I think her and Allie look too much alike.

Aside from the Franco stuff, I am here for Nina seducing Sonny. I think that will be fun if it happens. And the best eff you to Carly and Jax. Although I think Watros is taller than MB. I though Lipton was OTT as Cameron yesterday, but Liz/RH was fabulous. I loved her hair like that as well. Why does Maxie's make up make her look like she got punched in the face? That's some odd contour KS is sporting. Are the actors still doing their own make up due to Covid? Because someone needs to help Storms lol.

I get it. But why have a teen scene then? It sounds really bad but these teens aren't like anyone i ever knew. But Brenda/Jagger/Karen/Jason were hot. Liz/Lucky/Nik/Emily not as hot but still amazing. Why can't we do this again? They are so puritan it's annoying. Maybe they can hire a bad girl that shakes things up (ala Brenda)? I would love a random Nik/Gia spawn.......

It doesn't have to be debauchery or anything, but like smoke a cigarette or have sex. It isn't the 50's lol. Like Brenda and Jagger were banging in the nurse's office 30 years ago and handing out condoms, but this teen scene just...talks a lot lol.

Correct, but that might have been RC. KA looked about 12 when pregnant. I don't have a problem with any of these teen actors, but why aren't they doing anything fun? They are tamer and more well behaved than any teen I know and better than most of us in high school and I am not that old lol

Perhaps. But why hire them then? Isn't it part of the deal? Not trying to be controversial but hire a 21 year old instead if that's an issue. They are all good actors, but if age is holding them back from having real stories recast. It never stopped KMC/Robin. And she looked like a little girl for a long time...She genuinely looked 5 years younger at least than Brenda, Stone and Jason but they gave her those stories.. I thought he was OTT today, but he's good and attractive. I hope it's his decision to leave.

Lol. I know Marlena was 40 for like 20 years, but Don was always the older man for her. They never were contemporaries so I don't think that's a problem. And I agree they tried to make her contemporaries with Hope, Kayla, Kim, etc, but she was still good friends with Laura/Maggie, so it's a toss up. They were pairing her with JM's Stefano who was basically Jed's age, so I don't think that was an issue.

i am thinking post-Wayne's Roman would have been perfect timing. Obviously JA was still willing to work soaps. I think even outside the Don/Marlena connection he could have been paired with quite a few women. They could have played on the Maggie stuff as well. I also think it would have added dimension to the Marlena/John/Kristen situation if Marlena was allowed a love interest outside of pining for John for 3 years. I know Mickey was the defacto lawyer, but it would have absolutely made sense for him to get outside help for cases (John's Aremid stuff would have actually been perfect) especially since him and Don were partners. And it's very odd JLB's Laura never had a love interest. You could easily have him interact with the young set too since he knew Carrie/Sami as kids. They could have brought a re cast Donna back too. Wasted potential.

Could you even imagine? Since no one has mentioned him since like 1983? Perfect. Total Ron. The last thing Marlena/Roman/John need is another wayward fake kid. On a separate note, I am surprised they never brought Don back. He would have been perfect in the 90's to help Mickey on one of his trials (Jack's maybe?) and as a secondary love interest for Marlena while John was with Kristen or even a love interest Kate, Laura, or Vivian.

You can't build a show with male leads that are all problematic. Mobsters, rapists, or just insanely boring (Finn, Michael). Ingo/Jax should have always been the second male lead, but his charm has definitely worn off as well. But if you are going to focus a show on Sonny, Jax vs. Sonny was the way to go. At least Jax was heroic and rootable back in the day. There has to be a good guy to balance Sonny out and it's not his saintly hitman lol. But this is probably a highly unpopular opinion. I think SK/AJ could have been a strong male lead as well. Very flawed, but a likeable guy in the end that could never get it right.

The thing is I thought Todd was by far the best OLTL fit from all the cast offs that appeared. I liked Todd with Carly, but the YEARS and YEARS of trying to make ME and RH a thing and then letting MB and SBu also be a thing. It's just mind boggling and I have no problem with any of the actors. I like Sonny and Jason. It's just none of them are likable leads and I can see that. A crazy faction of fans isn't going to convince me otherwise. I think passive worked when he was first cast. His exasperation with Carly would crack me up. And I think he did fine with the rape stuff. But I think DG was probably the better of the two adult Michaels. I always felt Michael would be somewhat of a rage monkey due to his childhood.

She truly has gotten nothing out of the pairing. I don't know why the show can't find any way to use Liz other than giving her horrible love interests. There are definitely Friz/RoHo stans, I just think a lot of Liz fans hopped on the Friz train because it gave Liz airtime and kept her semi-relevant not because it was a good storyline arc for Liz. Perhaps. There is clearly nothing left for filming lol. Chad Duell seems so boring and almost asexual to me. Maybe it's his sad, doe eyed expressions. He always looks like he needs a hug. I mean, good for him for getting it off screen. But some days I think the show should cut their losses with Duell and hire someone better suited for the part of AJ/Carly/Sonny's kid. Although, obviously, there are many people I would cut before him.

I actually thought Michael and Abby were kind of cute. Then I realized the actress that played Abby was legit 35 when she played his love interest when he was 18. I thought she was maybe 8 years older than him lol. I mean perhaps Duell has chemistry off screen only? Lord knows he had none with KA when she was Starr/Kiki. I have no problem with Willow/Michael forgiving them eventually. It just was so monumentally boring. No dramatic reveal. No tense fights. Just a few minutes of hurt feelings and moving on...lamely. I think I am putting too much thought into something I don't care about, but GH has had so many good young adult triangles/quads over the years including one with Michael's own adoptive father and former step dad. Can't we emulate that? I'd be totally cool with someone meeting their untimely death in a car bomb again.

Yes he was around with Roman. And then his mom came back and got custody I think. The reason Roman didn't want Marlena to get close to Carrie at first was because she just lost Johnny and he was afraid Anna would leave with Carrie and upset Marlena. I remember thinking Johnny was extremely obnoxious in all scenes. m Glad they shipped him off in favor of Carrie and future Roman/Marlena kids.

To me, even though we knew what Sasha/Chase did was "noble", it was messing with Michael/Willow's lives in a pretty major way and it should have had some consequences. I agree the problem isn't only them being all good people. The have no real story, zero chemistry, and none of them are really charismatic or that root-worthy. I don't even know which couple I am supposed to like Millow or Chillow? lol. I think a lot of the RH "fans" are Becky fans that want to keep Becky front burner and accept RH/Franco as the way to do it. I guarantee if Franco was suddenly completely out of Liz's orbit there would be a lot less vocal Franco/RH fans. The teenagers have the most bizarre, adult stories lol. Where is the partying, sex, anything fun? I know Robin had a pretty depressing teenage life, but at least she got to have sex and have fun.

The thing with the deception is that Willow/Michael should be angry. Chase/Sasha manipulated them and basically forced them into weird, life changing choices, so they should be more upset.

Got ya. Serena/Christina would give Lucy/Kevin/Scotty more as well. I liked Sasha on crack. I actually enjoyed her ridiculous over acting. I think the problem with Sasha is that she was a short term character that someone decided they liked and the kept her, but had no real idea where she was going. Who could they connect her to as someone's long lost child (besides Christina/Serena)? I know some people were speculating she was Brenda/Jax's kid, but that's a no for me lol.

I would say technically Michael is a legacy character and he's still dull as dirt, but SM as Sasha maybe could do something more. I find her more appealing than Willow. I think she would have made an okay Christina Baldwin, but they would have to give her some sort of nickname with 2 Christina/Kristina's on the canvas lol. The problem is the quad is made up of 4 generally good, boring characters. At least make one of the girls a villian or a least a vixen-y bad girl.

That's truly picking the lesser of two evils. Both stories are awful, but Michael/Chase/Willow/Sasha are the least charismatic quad ever. Just pair Michael/Chase already. I used to think Chad Duell was such an amazing find and great as younger Michael, but that boy has anti-chemistry with every girl he has ever been paired with except 40 year old Abby. And Willow is such a boring character. She's so bland in every single way.

Fair, but Kristen would probably still be fooling John to this day without Marlena lol. Everyone was dumb under JER: Hope, Jen, Bo. The only people portrayed as smart were the villains. And Laura, who figured a bunch of stuff out but no one believed her because she was crazy. Not to get too far on a tangent, but one of the things I hated about JER is that his root for couples were at fault for the crazy. If John/Marlena, Hope/Bo, and Jack/Jen just acted like adults and told one another their feelings all of this would have been avoided. i get it's a soap, but it made everyone look extra dumb. Carrie/Austin were the only couple I can recall being fairly transparent about their feelings for one another to Sami.

I think Marlena was fine in the 80's. Still smart. I think the Tale of 2 Roman's made her look like an idiot, tbh. I mean, how did she not know John wasn't her husband Roman lol? She didn't realize they were different when they had sex lol? She was dumb under JER, but others (John/Austin) were worse. I still don't get the logic of keeping Kristen's secrets because of the stressful pregnancy. Wouldn't keeping all those secrets be just as stressful to Kristen? It never made any sense. Nor did the fact that John and Marlena nearly swooned at each other's mere presence for years, yet didn't realize they both felt the same about one another, but that's a whole other thread.

The Don/Marlena/Kellam stuff doesn't make sense to me. Why does Kellam need a shrink on his campaign staff? I get he has a thing for Marlena, but she has a real job lol. Don also seems to be constantly annoyed with Marlena which makes me dislike them as a couple. Thanks @beebs for the write up! I always enjoy them.
