  1. I haven't paid much attention to today's Fed Cup results but apparently Begu forgot to shake Watson's hand after their singles rubber. And as Belarus was celebrating their getting to the Fed Cup finals, a player accidentally kicked Vika in the face. One last thing on the nocturnal stirrings at that Challenger in Sarasota: ‘I guess sex sells’: An oral history of a disruption at the Sarasota Open
  2. Yes, that's NYC Mayor Bill DeBlasio's wife and 1st Lady, Chirlane McCray.
  3. I guess you all have read At a ‘Unity’ Stop in Nebraska, Democrats Find Anything But(or some such similar article), given that you've been discussing the figures involved.
  4. While Konta is far from one of my favorite players, she handled herself the best way she knew how. The officials should have warned the crowd that one more peep from them and Romania would be defaulted. The match being suspended happened because the crowd, egged on by Nastase acted atrociously. It's not up to Konta to fix the situation, that was the job of the officials and they let the situation descend into chaos for several minutes. The match has been suspended and now Sorana Cirstea has not helped in the comments she made in press afterward questioning Konta's walking away.
  5. This site details how the entire mess unfolded. Watch: Chaos As Nastase Storms Court To Abuse British Player, Leaving Her In Tears And Play Suspended
  6. Apparently, after verbally abusing a British journalist and a player, Nastase was escorted out of the Fed Cup tie. And it looks like he also verbally abused the chair umpire. Maybe now he'll be banned.
  7. U.S. states realign in legal battle over Trump's travel ban
  8. @Soapsuds There's a 'dark knight' just dying to come out of Nolé and he needs to stop holding that side in. I'd be sooo there when he walks over to 'the dark side'. Perhaps when he switches clothing brands, that "Bring The Love" gesture will be left behind with the old company. That gesture just never worked for me.
  9. From your lips to God's ear! Even though I was happy for Goffin, I actually felt, gasp, a bit sorry for Nolé at times, when he fell on the court and had to stoop over by a ball kid who was pouring water into his cupped hands to wash off the clay, he looked like a character from a Dickens novel! But the sour grapes comments had me quickly shaking off my sympathy.
  10. Yeah, I heard quite some time ago that baby #2 is on the way. A few #Nolefam were basically saying "Who cares whether or not Serena comes back?" trying to attach their remarks to some remarks that Vesnina and another player made about how at 35, Serena couldn't be at the top forever. Vesnina joked (supposedly) that she wished Serena would stay in long enough for Vesnina to beat her (keep dreaming, girl). These sourpuss fans took their remarks and ran with it- to state that nobody cared if Serena returned or not. Some fans responded that, well, ticket buyers and many fans care since Serena often fills stadiums and sell lots of tickets. I get that these fans are in a foul mood- it never feels good when your fave loses, and to boot, the crowd seemed to be with Goffin more- but what does Serena have to do with any of it? Why throw her in the mix? These folks sound so bitter and ridiculous.
  11. Some of Novak's fans are out of control on social media, seizing on other players to verbally attack. Why not take the high road?? Ilie Nastase is getting dragged for his disgusting behavior at the draw ceremony for Fed Cup (Romania vs. Great Britain) even hitting on a pregnant Anne Keothavong (GB's coach) and making coarse remarks about Serena's unborn child. He's been doing this kind of thing for decades, from what I've read...why is he still allowed to persist?! They get all over Kyrgios but they can't get a hold of Nastase???
  12. ...yet they voted overwhelming for Trump... Rural Ohio worries about 'hardship' under Trump's budget, which would eliminate Appalachian Regional Commission
  13. Oh, okay. Yeah, Cuevas can be a very tricky opponent especially on clay, where he has no chill. I could see Stan being like "F*uck it, where's Donna?"
  14. Yeah, me too, lol and I didn't see the match but with Stan, you always know it's a distinct possibility. He's never been known for consistency, especially outside of the Slams. Has Stan ever won a Masters? I am asking but I genuinely don't know.
  15. How ironic that Assange is being collared by the very administration Wikileaks likely helped to elect! Ha!

  17. Speaking of Trump and his incessant bragging, wasn't he bragging about Boeing not-too-long ago? Boeing plans hundreds of layoff notices for engineers this week
  18. Seriously though, I'm waiting for confirmation from Serena. How do we know it's not a taco belly, LOL.
  19. And announced it on Sharapova's Birthday?! LOL. Someone joked that the fetus already has more major's than Aga Radwanska!
  20. OMG. On the NY Post article's video you can totally hear it! Incredibly loud sex interrupts Florida tennis match ETA. I had to unembed that video. I couldn't figure out how to stop it from automatically running, every time I enter this thread, LOL. It got annoying!
  21. Haha. He was losing in Monte Carlo yesterday so that's his alibi. Someone should send him that clip though. He's tennis' porn king, after all.
  22. He shouldn't have run as a Democrat then. He should've stood behind what he truly believed in on a platform that he believed in, to represent a party that he believed in. At least Nader ran on a different platform because he truly believed that he was not of either Democrat or Replublican party. At this point, I have more respect for Nader than for Bernie.
