  1. Channing Dungey, the president of ABC Entertainment likely had much to do with the decision to give the show the ax as well.
  2. From what I saw of the match, I thought Serena looked pretty good out there today.
  3. What does the U.S. have to do with any of this ZTE/ trade talk? This is about what Trump Inc. will get. They are in feather their nest mode and they are using the presidency and the government to achieve this. People still believe that Trump cares about the U.S.? How quaint. Reason #50 why you would never catch me watching even one minute of that vile woman's reboot.
  4. Ivanka Trump gets six new Chinese trademarks a week or so after Trump announced that he would help 'save' ZTE (a Chinese company that has been seen as a national security threat). Especially interesting, given Trump's previous tweets about not doing any new "deals" during his administration. When conflict of interest goes hand in hand with corruption.
  5. Let's give a Bronx cheer for the Susan Sarandons of the U.S. who thought Hillary would've been worse than Trump. Someone should barrage her social media with images like those. This is insane, by the way.
  6. Less than two weeks but no problem.
  7. @Vee All you had to do was to link to my previous post from May 15. https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/43846-soap-stars-where-are-they-now/?do=findComment&comment=1567231
  8. I didn't see this match. Was there really this much stuff going on? OMG Hippy guru and mob of squatters take over Boris Becker's Majorcan villa after the three-time Wimbledon champion 'abandoned' it following bankruptcy
  9. Welp. This year's French is not starting out well for me, but the French has become my least watched tournament to begin with.
  10. Yeah, I must have heard discussion about those scenes on the witness stand but can't remember seeing them up on You Tube. It's a shame. So much is posted, yet so much is still missing and often what is missing appears to be the conclusions to the most compelling story lines.
  11. Many people might not know about this massacre but since I attended high school in the early 90s with a guy whose family fled during El Salvador's civil war, I am familiar with these brutal events that occurred during the Reagan administration. Survivors of Massacre Ask: ‘Why Did They Have to Kill Those Children?’ Although the Clinton administration declassified many of the records, people in El Salvador believe that declassifying more records may give more information about who in the Salvadoran military's chain of command might be responsible for this massacre. After all, under Reagan, the U.S. trained the Salvadoran military and often funded them. Like often is the case when military who commit heinous acts have ties to the U.S., the generals often get asylum in the U.S. as Gen. Garcia did in 1990. I'm glad that the Obama administration decided to deport Gen. Garcia back to El Salvador though because now he may actually have to answer for his crimes.
  12. Am I imagining things or didn't the end of the Doug Cummings murder trial used to be up on You Tube? I mean Kim's trial.
  13. Fortunately for me, it's been years since I last subscribed to cable so I've never actually seen an episode of Wallace's MSNBC show and it's been about eight years since I've seen a full episode of Morning Joe. I don't doubt that they've all been complicit in underplaying Trump's vileness, like most of the MSM. That clip stood out to me because in today's mainstream media landscape, it seems so rare.
  14. Just saw a video where Nicole Wallace refused to read Trump tweets because he lies so much.
  15. Bacsinszky's ranking is going to drop, a lot probably.
  16. Tennis has had a bunch of scandals flying under the radar. Guillermo Coria's little brother Federico, just got nabbed in a TIU case, with Coria defending his little brother, who he claims feared for his life and that of his family. This is the second time an Argentinian player has run afoul of the TIU--- this week! In more light-hearted news, I thought @Faulknermight like this photo of Novak and Serena's baby girl.
  17. Trafficking and exploitation of the marginalized has always been a part of the American fabric but at least other people in America are beginning to wake up to just how brutal this all is.
  18. Reading these pieces about how children have been ripped away from their families at the border reminds me of the history courses I took where I read pre-Civil War accounts of slave children being ripped away from their families and sold off. People in the U.S. constantly talk about how that's all in the past and how America is not that kind of country anymore but I see the same brutal tactics being used nearly 200 years later.
  19. I am only painfully aware of how America disregards the plight of certain children. I was reading a news article about a cold case from the early 1970s in Washington D.C. where a cluster of young Black girls and women were found murdered and how negligent many of the police were in the investigations into their killings. At the same time there were two cases of White girls who were killed that got the lionshare of media attention. I won't tell you which cases were solved and which remain unsolved to this day because I think you can guess that. In the case of "foreigners" unfortunately many people feel justified in mistreating them, even children.
  20. Live images of Weinstein surrendering on CBS2 TV. What a scene. I think this is in regards to the criminal complaint of Lucia Evans.
  21. Indeed she has. On a lighter note, I'm not sure whether this has been posted here before and unfortunately the audio and the video seem to have fallen out of synch (likely due to some degradation of the video over time) but this is another example how Tom & Margo smoldered in the 80s. I only wish the complete episode where this scene was taken from existed on You Tube.
  22. Eighty is not what it used to be! I see some 80 year olds that are quite active. Just today, I saw a news story of a man in his 90s who plays ice hockey twice a week, in addition to playing golf once a week. Wasn't Cicely Tyson in her 80s when she won the Tony award for Trip to Bountiful? It depends on the person, I guess. My grandfather lived to nearly 100 years old and as a farmer, all through his 80s he still got up early and planted, tilled and tended!
