IMO Kirk was Iva's best pairing. In the very beginning they had that witty, sharp dialogue that I used to love to hear from HBS and GM's Tom and Margo (what we writers would call 'The Billy Wilder Effect'). They even had a bit of that combative repartée, the way John and Lucinda sometimes had. They were dynamic and in the beginning, Iva didn't have to play the put-upon 'heavy' as she had in other other relationships. It was a big mistake to pull them apart without them finding their way back to each other. If Kirk and Iva were going to be involved in a triangle (of sorts), I would've rather Marland wait for Sam, Lucinda's sister. Given Lucinda and Iva's acrimonious history, Sam becoming the interloper to Kirk and Iva's fraying relationship would've added extra interest. That pairing of Iva and Kirk put Iva in a light I had not been used to see her before--they sizzled. IMO none of Iva's other pairings had that kind of sizzle. I didn't even know the Iva character was capable of producing those kind of sparks! Wow, is there video online? I'd love to see that, LOL.

Simona saw Wozniacki get hers and Sloane before that, so Simona was determined this year. The first two sets were very competitive and the third set was more about Simona holding off any nerves that might have showed up but Sloane wore herself out and Simona had more in reserve having had long runs on Chatrier before.

Giuliani always came across as an a$$hole (e.g. the brutal way in which his Law & Order agenda dealt with POC) but he was able to maintain his reputation of some integrity because of his prosecutions of the mob in NYC. I never had any respect for him. Black and brown people caught absolute hell during his regime and working class New Yorkers lost economic ground during his mayoral years. I suspect the tourists loved Giuliani because he capitalized on a downward trend in crime (that had already taken effect before he became mayor) and convinced them that the city had become "safe" because of him, while he helped Disney-fy Times Square (a policy that Mario Cuomo's administration actually laid the groundwork for) . As someone who had lived in NYC and got to read of and see the abuses of the Giuliani regime up close, I was glad that the city would finally see him out and I knew I would never vote to elect him for any public office--not even dog catcher. If anything surprises me, it's the level of greed and ingratiating behavior that he has exhibited. I never knew that Giuliani could lick someone else's boots with such alacrity as he has with Trump.

Between that and Giuliani's comment about Kim supposedly getting down on his knees and begging for the summit between the US and North Korea to go on, I suspect that Giuliani has become quite the liar.

She's gonna have to fight Sloane for it, LOL. I hope to see a good battle and not what I just saw in the 2nd SF.

I am still mostly indifferent about the entire C-gate situation (though I already stated that I have never used the word and don't like it) because I assert that both these women are as far from marginalized as one can get and both can surely take care of themselves but I came across this on social media and thought it was interesting and I know there was strong debate about this situation in this thread, so perhaps others may find this interesting too.
