  1. Only if you're on the outside looking in. When you're in it, it can't be too amusing. Maybe a Stanley Kubrick film would be a better analogy.
  2. I saw the headline late this morning and am glad you posted this because it reminded me to read the actual article. Yesterday, I posted about this journalist's death so yeah, it came as a bit of a surprise when I saw the headlines about his demise being untrue. I hope that the Ukrainian authorities can uncover more evidence that will help put an end to these contract killings of Russian journalists. In the meantime, I also worry that by boasting that he will "live to 96" and "dance on Putin's grave", that Mr. Babchenko is somehow 'poking the bear'. Hopefully the Ukrainian authorities can get the assistance they will likely need to protect Mr. Babchenko.
  3. We're living in a Mel Brooks movie.
  4. And like with Trump, people are lured into believing that she won't succumb to her worst impulses ('oh look, there's Trump acting presidential, let's put him on the list for a Nobel Peace prize') despite years of evidence to the contrary.
  5. Lest some fall under the misbegotten impression that the George W. Bush administration was somehow benign, here's a refresher about how W.'s administration failed to fully prosecute or otherwise hold the makers of OxyContin accountable for their spread of the opioid epidemic. Origins of an Epidemic: Purdue Pharma Knew Its Opioids Were Widely Abused The company was allowed to plead down to a misdemeanor with no admission of guilt, despite the company knowing and suppressing evidence of the highly addictive nature of their product.
  6. Gotta clean up that image with a small dose of integrity before he returns to the private sector, I guess.
  7. Isn't she now trying to blame Ambien for being racist? That's a new one.
  8. Okay, so Serena's catsuit also had a functional element- a compression fabric to promote good circulation since she's had an ongoing issue with bloodclots that was exacerbated in the days after her delivery. http://www.espn.com/tennis/story/_/id/23642843/french-open-serena-williams-mother-all-comebacks
  9. Oh, I saw that on the news and it sounded great to me.
  10. Please forgive me for laughing at this.
  11. They are shameless as hell! I don't follow but somehow I'm often seeing some of their pics in social media.
  12. I knew this Twitter page would have the pic, LMAO. At first I thought it was F-Lo.
  13. There was some Italian player who took a near-nude selfie that would've made Deliciano blush. I can't remember his name. When I do, I'll let you know.
  14. @Soapsuds might agree, LOL.
  15. Giolito also played Detective Nick Castello, James Stenbeck's mole in the OPD. I didn't know that Lindsey Frost got remarried a few years ago? Also, why does Bing have a picture of Maura West with Frost's name?
  16. Kristolyn Lloyd (Dayzee, B&B) talks about her role in Dominique Morriseau's play Pumpkin, co-starring Simone Missick in an interview with Playbill.
  17. I doubt that Nike will sell this to the consumer market, so it doesn't really matter whether it's to everyone's taste. Besides, with the bevy of sexual harassment and misogyny issues that the company is now having, one catsuit is the least of their problems right now.
  18. The Valerie Harper and The Hogans analogy is not an accurate one, IMO. While Valerie Harper may have had a reputation for being difficult, she was never known for having racist tirades. Her firing had to do with a salary dispute, not for spewing conspiracy theories and racist epithets. Not comparable.
  19. That catsuit was likely a throwback to the catsuit she wore at the 2002 US Open. She said she felt empowered wearing it. Hey, whatever helps the mindset, right? Kristyna Pliskova is not a bad first round opponent to have to ease into the tournament. Challenging enough but far from a relentless opponent.
  20. Russia continues to make literal targets of their journalists.
  21. This Vox article goes on to name the list of shows that dealt with the issues surrounding politics and class and the irony of The Middle, which wasn't nearly as heralded as the Roseanne reboot yet, according to Vox, tackled these issues even better than Roseanne did in the rebooted version of the show. Roseanne was canceled. It isn’t the only sitcom tackling politics and the working class.
  22. LOL, I risked it as long as I could by clicking on a dodgy livestream. I'm never able to watch on an actual TV.
  23. Suffice it to say...Roseanne has, a history.
