  1. They're always the last to realize this. I mean...
  2. Dan Rather tweeted about this yesterday. He said that Trump won't be able to bluster his way through and that's what has him nervous (I'm paraphrasing). We all know that Trump is about posturing but not about the real work of leadership or governing. Also, he likely knows that the Chinese (who are no doubt advising the North Koreans) are much smarter than he is and that will be proven within five minutes of any summit meeting. Joe Manchin (whom I've never been much of a fan of) must feel good at hearing the news that Blankenship is entering the Senate race as a third party, probably solely with the aim of siphoning off GOP votes.
  3. I agree with Soares though. They should stop when they feel the time is right for them.
  4. In the meantime, the likes of China and Russia are running the show. The U.S. might as well hang a shingle that reads "United States of America For Sale to the Highest Bidder" at Immigration and Customs at every international airport. Between this and the U.S. already acceding to Chinese, er North Korean demands that the U.S. and South Korea stop their military cooperative exercises, Trump and his cabal are more than prepared to put U.S. concerns at the bottom of the list, just so that he can claim that he secured some sort of a "deal" no matter how adverse the consequences for the U.S. His "trade war" bluster was always nonsense but his exit from his idiotic rhetoric has been about as graceful as a cow on ice. All it proves is that, without a doubt, China owns Trump (and likely Russia and perhaps certain emirs and sheikhs too).
  5. Clearly, he's fed up.
  6. In addition to those mentioned, Roselyn Sanchez (Pilar Domingo, ATWT) and Denyse Tontz (Miranda Montgomery AMC 2.0) also spent some time on soaps.
  7. Don't tell me that people are actually surprised that Trump is this awful. The people that voted for Trump knew he was this awful and voted for him because of it, provided it would never affect them. The people who sat on their asses because Bernie didn't win the primary likely didn't care as long as someone was made to feel the pain. Those of us who worried about the safety of marginalized people were talked down to in the most f*cking patronizing tone. Why are people acting brand-new? Trump once took out a full-page ad calling for the execution of five teenage boys of color. Don't tell me that people didn't see this coming? In reality, many people really just don't care. In fact, many people in the U.S. are just fine with it.
  8. He's in Midtown. He wouldn't dare go to Harlem or Washington Heights with that sh*t.
  9. And ICYMI, Congressional Republicans missed their self-imposed deadline to carve out a deal for NAFTA.
  10. Because he's gotten away with it in on at least two other occasions. Here is one of them. Make that three other occasions. 2 on video that's been posted, this one I hadn't heard of before.
  11. Voter suppression has been going on for many many years/decades in the U.S. It's like when people don't want to openly discuss racism or gun control...if not now, when??! The Democrats paid attention to it in 2007/2008, (perhaps 2012) because they believed it would be used to try to prevent the election of America's first Black president, otherwise, it has been a classic racism...er, business as usual.
  12. Will America finally wake up and pay attention to this?!
  13. The call was clearly bad but Pliskova's response to it was also bad. If there is any doubt, look at Sakkari's reaction. Pliskova's human but there's no way she should avoid a fine. If she doesn't get a fine, then everyone else who has a similar reaction ought not to be fined either. When we see Nick Kyrgios' antics, nobody should say ever say a word again then.
  14. There could be a big fine in her future.
  15. Speaking of people who make people sick, the North Koreans despise John Bolton and aren't at all shy about expressing their feelings of "repugnance" toward him...just the sort of feelings you want a country with nuclear weapons to have with the country they are supposed to be in negotiations with (cue sarcasm). North Korea Threatens to Call Off Summit Meeting With Trump
  16. Geez, where is his ranking right now?
  17. I kind of feel bad for Berdych. I didn't see today's match but of the previous matches that I have seen, he looks a bit lost out there. He came close quite few times but has been unable to grab that one complete breakthrough in the majors (i.e. "Slam"). I'm always loathe to say that anybody should retire, especially if they are uninjured and able to compete and want to compete but I wonder if maybe he's a bit burnt out, at the moment and perhaps a mini 'mental health' break might help. All these consecutive first round losses cannot be good for the psyche. On the women's side Ash Barty and another player whose name I can't remember (she's Canadian, I think) took breaks away from the game for mental health reasons. There should be no stigma for anyone who needs to take a break to restore their mental health.
  18. Was expecting something like this to happen.
  19. "Mr. Sadr, a scion of a Shiite clerical family, has spent years refashioning his image. He now offers himself as a populist outsider intent on fighting corruption, and he has capitalized on the grievances shared by many Iraqis over the systematic graft in their country." I mean, it worked for Trump, right? Iraqi Voters Strengthen Hand of Militia Leader Who Battled U.S.
  20. By the way, here is the trailer for BlackKlansman, which I believe is due out in August: Okay, I just noticed that the due date is written on the top of the video. In my defense, though, I originally put up a post about this same movie about a month ago. https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/43846-soap-stars-where-are-they-now/?do=findComment&comment=1562890
