Emmerdale Farm alumni George Fenton, who played Martin Gimbel 1975-76, but is nowadays more famous as a composer, will receive a CBE at this year's New Year's Honour. He's written a lot of film scores, including "Gandhi", "Shadowlands", "Land and Freedom", "Dangerous Liasions", "Groundhog Day" and "You've Got Mail". He's also written music for many wildlife documentaries, including "The Trials of Life", "Frozen Planet", "The Blue Planet" and "Planet Earth".

True, they pushed the boundaries. But they never really crossed them. Reversing Ridge's paternity would do that. I think making Massimo Ridge's father was a bad idea from the start, but they did it, and unfortunately they took it too far so now it would be really difficult to change it back.

The problem with that scenario is that it means that Rick and Steffy committed actual incest when they were a couple... 🤢

It might not be a major issue for long since these awards shows are seemingly losing in relevance anyway. But then again, something like this might halt that trend...at least momentarily.

Well, that has worked to keep Ridge as the male lead for 35 years so it can't be altogether bad....

Maybe I have forgotten something, but what has Liam done that comes even remotely close to what Thomas has done? 🤔

Yes! It's moments like these that keep me from giving up on this show completely. They are perfect examples of how good it could be if they cut back on all the stunts and disasters (and Dingles! ) and focused on the smaller moments and human interactions.
