Home, home. home, home, home! Oh, MsQ, you sent me the purty picture! *squees and runs around happily* Oh, I LOVE the new graphic with sexy!dykey!Jane. She is so frackin' hawt it makes my head spin. And yes, I still believe. I will always believe. And I've made a decision....I'm writing Jane another letter, begging to tell if she's renewed her contract....because I don't know how much longer I can take this suspense....

Okay, ya'll. I should never read this board before actually watching the show. Ya'll are bad for my morale!!!! I would like to discuss.....the ring. When I read about it, I was like, THAT JERK! THAT LOSER! I hatehatehatehatehatehatehate him! (Insert Alan Quartermaine voice here:) DAMN YOU, LUKE SPEEENNNNNSSSAAAAHHHHHHHH! And Fey was like, it wasn't like that, Baby. He is doing this for his kids. It's not about Luke & Laura so much as it is about his kids. So I watch it. And here is my opinion. For TIIC, it's ALL about Luke & Laura. All "Magic," all the time. For Tony, and for Luke? It's about his kids. He's doing this because his daughter is messed up. He's doing this because his son is messed up. He's doing this because he's in WAY over his head and he can't figure out how to fix things because LAURA always fixed things with the kids. Robin gave him a chance, an "out," and he's doing exactly what Luke always does--leaping without looking. All the above is obvious in the script and in TG's performance. What is also obvious is the scene where he takes off his ring. They're about to administer the drug, and he doesn't know what she will remember when she comes back. He looks at the pictures, and hesitates. THen he takes the recent pictures of the children, hesitates, and hides them in the drawer. SO AS NOT TO CONFUSE OR SHOCK LAURA. Then...HE HESITATES. Even longer than he did with the pictures. He hesitates and there is a certain sense of regret in his eyes (Okay, maybe that's just my wishful thinking) before he takes off his ring and puts it in his pocket. And when I watched that, I realized, he only took it off to protect Laura from the shock. Not because he doesn't value his marriage to Tracy. Not because he was being callous or cruel. He was shouldering the ENTIRE burden of his decision, to protect his children if things went wrong, to make himself the bad guy if it went that way. I think Luke knows that he could lose everything in this risk, and I think -- given the look on his face when he took off that ring -- Tracy is included in the list of people he values that could be lost because of his decision. And I think he's making that decision anyway, because he has to. I think there is still hope for LuNacy, alhtough it will never be the same after this. I think if Tracy and Luke get back together (because there will be no STAYING together through this--we all know Tracy--it ain't gonna happen), Luke is going to have to earn it, to admit he cares about her. Now, TIIC could go with the tried and true "Tracy Blackmails Luke into Staying Married" routine. And I will be disgusted by that if it happens. But all is not lost folks. TG played this perfectly, and the script left big holes for LuNacy to slip back through in the future. And I don't even consider this my LaLa Land Denial. It's possible to salvage LuNacy and make it stronger. Whether TIIC are going to bother doing it, remains to be seen.

I want this picture. I want it, want it, want it. I want the Tracy in that picture, hot Tracy, hip Tracy, NOT BEING TREATED LIKE HELL BY LUKE Tracy. I asked Tracey and she said it was okay to mention that the forums and the galleries are now open for www.Jane-Elliot.com! Go to http://www.jane-elliot.com/galleries/ for the galleries. Go to http://www.jane-elliot.com/forum/ for the forums. They are still in flux, but we've got the start of a really nice place there. Tracey is the administrator, so her rules apply. But I think it would be nice if we could go there and get the ball rolling. Oh, and the Galleries--I'm already lusting for Tracey's magazine collection. I want that PICTURE! ETA: Sweet! Page 174!

OMIGOD, that first image, MsQ~ What year is that???? She is so with the gorgeousness, I think I might pass out! I've actually seen all of these before (except the first one), but lost them when our old computer died. So THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for reposting. We have to have Tracy on today. We just gotta! I'm begging the universe! Imagine an old Judy Garland movie, the pivotal scene, where young Judy turns her big eyes, wobbly chin, and pure cinematic gold towards the Authority Figure--all broken voice and held-back tears--"Please, Mister Guza! We just gotta see Tracy today, or we'll just...oh, Mr. Guza, you can't keep Tracy outta the show. We all worked so hard--Jimmy wrote the songs, and Tawny made the costumes, and well, the kids'll be just heart-broken if Tracy can't do the show. Please, Mr. Guza, have a heart...." Oh, um, okay, you get the picture. I really really really want her on today.

Yay!!!!! SON is finally back up! Someone on SZ's Watching Live post really got me--the subject line only said "NED!" I was like, dudes!!!!!!!! Then I realized they were like, PSYCH!!!!! Then I was like, BUMMER. (Getting ready for Crush University at DISNEY WORLD! Wow, only online five minutes, and I've already plugged Disney World. I must be an ABC soap!) Tracy today? Tracy tomorrow? Wasn't she in the bumper at least today? *hugs memory of Tracy* *hangs on tightly to hope that JE will stay on past November* ETA: Feeling Blue, MsQ? Cuz all the pictures of TQ in your new banner are frowning.....

Will some one remind me why I keep watching GH? I mean, seriously. Remind me why my VCR is set every weekday to tape this show? To the folks in the Break Room last night, please accept my apologies for my abrupt departure. My back is still seriously hurting--I must have pulled something last night packing up DVDs/Videos for the eventual move. Anyway, I'm moving really slow today and just trying to maintain my sense of dignity/humor. Remind me why I watch this show, ya'll? Clips, quotes, screencaps, memories--anything. Because ten minutes on Soapzone has me wondering what's the point.... OTOH, at Sister Mary Hot Pants. She is the ultimate in cuteness. MsQ, you need to see that movie.

Man, when did I top 600 posts? That's even scarier when you consider (1) I only joined SON in March and (2) this is the only thread I post in. (I think I've posted like three times on other boards....) Looks like next week may have Spankybuns, but in what capacity? I mean, if TIIC rob us of even a "reaction scene," I will be very upset. JE/TQ deserves at least that. The pictures from the Haunted Star really rocked me--we haven't seen Tracy that obviously inebriated since...wow, since Vegas, when she thought she'd lost Dillon. And yes, she was obviously drunk on July 4th, during the olive scene, but there's a difference. There wasn't that sense of desperation, of loss, of pain in her face. Maybe I'm reading too much into one tiny picture, but I doubt it. In her mind, she's lost again. She's let herself care again, let herself love again, and here she is--once again--lost. Alone. Laughingstock of Port Charles while the "nice" girl is reunited with her prince and the whole world celebrates. *pets Tracy much* I don't want her to hurt. I want JE to have great scenes, a chance to act, but I'm sick of them using Tracy as an emotional punching bag. I want her to have happiness. Not forever, because then her purpose on the show would go away. But, please, for a little while at least...let her have happiness. *sigh* I'm sad now. Cheer me up, ya'll.... ETA: Ya'll, we really are obsessive fans, aren't we? I just went thread-hopping in the Love/Hate section. All my other faves had like 7-8 pages of posts. We're at 171. We really do love us some Tracy, don't we? *GLOMPS LOVEFEST* You guys make me happy. Post-Download ETA: Re June 23, 2005 clip--I'm pretty sure I wasn't supposed to find that scene of Alice manhandling Tracy arousing, right? LOL. Actually, Tracy in that outfit alone would be enough for me--struggling, panting, gasping--well, that just brings up all sorts of interesting possibilities, doesn't it? Alice is SO hot for Tracy. Luke is just a shield.

TracyLuv, glad you liked them. I'm going to email the Photobucket link to Tracey and give her blanket permission to use anything of mine (screen caps, banners, icons) for Jane-Elliot.com. (Gawd, I just SQUEE every time I type that.) I don't know if she will or not, but she's certainly welcome to. Sorry I winked out on you guys like that. Fey and I had a "date" to watch the tape of the shows from Friday--popcorn and all! OLTL was particularly devastating--Adrianna must rot in hades for what she did to Dorian. And that's all I will say--if you watch the show, you'll know what I mean. Payback is one thing; overt, vicious, brutal cruelty is another. I actually watched the Luke/Robert/Skye scenes yesterday and came out of it...feeling better about LuNacy. Maybe it's just my natural sense of denial coming back through, but I didn't get the sense of Luke going after a lover, not even when they hugged each other. Ironically, it was the hug that did it for me. It was, oh, thank you for saving my life and possibly my baby. It wasn't, gawd, I've missed you, gawd, I want you, gawd, if only I wasn't 72 months pregnant.... Luke and Skye really have just become friends. Very good friends, really really strong bond, but friends nonetheless. Now, I don't think Tracy is going to see it that way when Luke gets back with Skye and Baby Really Shoulda Given Her A Different Name in tow, but at least I'm confident that Luke's not still after Skye. Which makes me feel better, because I've liked Skye from the beginning, and hated that the show pitted her so ruthlessly against Our Girl. I have hated that they've reduced two strong female characters (like pretty much all the other female characters on the show) to "No, he's MY man!" "No, he's MINE!" It's so...Flavor of Love. Tracy is better than that. Skye is better than that. They will never be friends, but I'm hoping they can get past this part of it and just hate each other for the normal reasons. *still grieving over that MediaNet picture.* Ya'll, they're gonna pull My Girl through the ringer, aren't they? Or maybe this will be the thing that finally gets Luke off his a##, that finally gets him to face his feelings for the Girl... Or maybe I really AM Cleopatra, Queen of Denial.....

I know I'm a little early, but do I need to be depressed? I checked the SZ Watching Live post, and not a single mention of our girl. I don't want to be negative, but honestly, we need some Tracy lurve and we need it now. I've been thinking about Marco Dane, and how he would have treated her so much better than Luke does. I've never even seen the man on screen (EVAH!), and I know he wouldn't have neglected "Rocky" like Luke neglects "Spanky." Actually, I can see Tracy having to "shoo" him away for being too interested/involved. Oh, Gerald Anthony, if you're looking down from heaven...could you and Anna Lee and David Lewis do a little bit of that Gloria Monty mojo and get our girl back into the A-track? Because the show NEEDS her. Or send her to OLTL as the secret witness who will blow that slob Spencer Truman right out of the water! ("I can verify for a fact, your honor, that Spencer Truman is not Asa Buchanon's son. He's not even Spencer Truman. He's Paul Hornsby, my ex-husband, and the lowest scum that ever oozed out between the cracks.") And then, she'd get busy staking her territory in Lanview. *sigh*

Much with the LOVING of the new chapter. R/R at FF.net, and will probably add a comment over at the ficathon when I have time. I'm so glad you got Photoshop back--love the icon. Any chance of Tracy on today? Any chance at all? :puts up front paws and wriggles nose: Pleeeeaaasseeee? (Think the Gods of Daytime like cute?) LunchTime ETA: Well, I've been doing a little work at the ficathon on my lunch break. Somebody on the chat (I think it was Nex) suggested add a tag for each writer so that all their stories would be linked. Well, I thought that was a swell idea, so I've been working on updating the tags. I will eventually go through the ficathon post-by-post and add tags to all entries so the entire thing is cross referenced. But for now, I'm just going through the Memories and getting to the stories that way. If you've posted a story to the Ficathon, would you do me a favor? Head on out there, find your story, and click the tag with your name on it. (Keith, I've got you tagged as "Keith" and "sag85kwt," in case people don't know you by both.) If you pull up the list and one of your stories is not showing, please PM me with the titles so I can get them tagged. Thanks. Any scoop on TQ today? Should I even bother turning on my tv?

*waves to Regency* Expect fic from me, ya'll. Fey just got the new Sims2 expansion pack. My online time is now officially shot to hell. OTOH, I'll have lots of time to spend working on my stories... Just saw the latest SOD on the newstands--BIG OLD L&L cover. Picture of TG and GF with inserts of all the people affected by Laura's return--Lucky, Nikolas, Lulu...and ROBIN? Not one single picture of LUKE'S WIFE. But she did get a single mention buried deep in the text of one of the articles. I was yeah verily annoyed, but not surprised. Oh, well. Such is life.

Where is everybody??? I think this is the longest I've ever seen it go without a post in here. No TQ on today, as far as I can tell from SZ. Not good with that, but at least we know she's on next week. Also, the new SOW came out and apparently JE's name is NOT in the "Out" section of Who's In/Who's Out. (Regency, Lainey, stop giggling. Ya'll are soooo immature.) I have to admit, I sat and watched almost all of the show yesterday and I actually enjoyed it. I basically watched anything with Dillon-Lulu-Georgie, Elizabeth, and Alexis. I was surprised at how entertained I was. But then, I was also entertained by OLTL, so that shows you how tired I was. Fey and I were doing a comparison of OLTL and GH, and we noticed somethings. One, OLTL is a LOT more varied in the ages and appearances of the characters. (I noticed LOTS of 40+ characters with viable storylines, and even a heavy chick with a real storyline--as opposed to Alice's Yuk-A-Minute comic relief.) Two, while the actual writing is better on GH (dialogue and such), the storylines are more varied on OLTL. The whole Spencer Truman storyline engages almost the entire cast, and while it integrates "Who My Baby Daddy" and "Who Slept With Whom," it's not dominated by those themes. Three, the sets are cheesier on OLTL, but there's MORE of them. And OLTL wins the costuming hands-down. I'm not sure who put Kelly Monaco in that Beyond Thunderdome shirt the other day, but she should demand a raise. Bottom line, though? I still like the acting and characters on GH better. Now, if Tracy would go over to OLTL, I think I'd die and go to heaven. I can't imagine TPTB at that show sweeping a prize like Jane Elliot under the rug. Oh, the fun we could have with Tracy and Dorian teaming up for something wicked.... I know I digress, but ya'll--I'm hearing crickets in here....

Marco Dane. Hands down. She knows in her heart if she hadn't double-crossed him when she ran off with Dillon to Europe, both hers and Dillon's lives would have been changed for the better. Marco was crude and low-rent, but under his felonious shell beat a heart of true gold. He would have loved her the way she needed to be loved, the way she never was loved, and it would have made an indelible mark in both hers and Dillon's lives. My What If Scenario? Tracy meets with a character from another show (NOT a Soap!) It can be drama, comedy, sci-fi, whatever? The lives of both characters are profoundly affected by this meeting. Who is the character, what is the show, and how are they affected? *great game idea, ILTQ, btw?* Mid-Morning ETA: LaineyBev, I'm SO glad you have inspiration for the next installment of "Along the Road." I'm so looking forward to it. I haven't written at all since Sunday--life keeps getting in the way. But I seriously have two more bunnies to follow the AU story. I'm also starting work on my birthday present to Jane. Yup. I'm going to do it.

ITLQ, my memory may be shot, but I think the agreement was not to TRASH other characters on this board, as opposed to not discussing them at all. I doubt it's possible to discuss Tracy/Jane Elliot while completely remaining mum on everybody else on the show. But it is possible to discuss her and the others in a civil and respectful manner. That's what I've been going for, anyway. (Mah Mama always tole me--if you cain't say somethin' nice about somebody, just smile and say nothin'.) JE is not leaving. She's not. *glares at Keith for pulling out the Elphaba pessimism* She's NOT. *stomps foot and gives a pretty, pink, peppermint popsicle kind of pout!* About the fic request, ILTQ, unfortunately, I'm about three bunnies behind at the moment, and my AU story is eating all my writing time. (I'm at 28 pages and only half through....) But I will definitely keep it in mind for one of my future fics, unless one of the more multi-lingual members of the writing force (stares at Staci and Lainey and TracyLuv and Regency) want to tackle the challenge. (I took three-ish years of French and one of German, but all I got was theese shtupeed accent!) And MsQ! Tracypics, Tracypics, Tracypics!!!!! From next week. I'm totally happy..... Now...was the wardrobe from Sears?

*MinervaFan appears in Galinda garb, riding in a magical bubble of light, sprinkling sparkly fairy dust on all members of this LoveFest* Now, all you gloomy Gus types--remember. She's still there. She's not gone. She's OUR Tracy, and we love her! Not one of the reliable sources has said one thing about JE leaving the show, and it's already half-way through the last month of her existing contract. Normally, when people are leaving, it's rumored months ahead of the fact. Also, the scripts have been setting up this conflict forever--every time Luke bails, Robert warns him that Tracy is not going to put up with it. Every time Tracy is with Luke, there is is more and more evidence that the two are getting attached. And the writers would surely want to exploit the MASSIVE dramatic potential of this conflict, right? JE is on record as saying she doesn't mind getting paid more and worked less. She has a teenage daughter and a son in college. She LIKES the income. It's not like in 1993, when she was jonesing for a major storyline that didn't come through. She's comfortable, with a steady income, and lots of time to devote to her daughter. Now, in three years, when her kids are out of school, she might feel differently. But I don't think JE is going anywhere. LuNacy might not survive the transition from October 2006 to November 2006, but I strongly feel that Jane Elliot's contract (and our monthly TQ fixes) will survive. *another round of fairy dust glitters all around you* There! You've been Galindafied! Wasn't that splendicious? Oh, and ladies? What's with the Franglish in the chat room? LOL. Mid-Morning ETA: Somebody wondered in the chat last night whether Tracy spoke foreign languages. I'm thinking, given her education, yes. Here's my rational: English: Obvious French: Lived in Provence with Dillon for a while. Besides, Young!Tracy would totally learn French in school to sound sexy/sophisticated. German: Swiss boarding school; German is one of the three official languages of Switzerland. Impossible to avoid. Italian: Hello? Italian men? Yeah, she knows Italian...several really interesting phrases, at the very least. Spanish: Probably, because of business. ELQ is an international company, and like, 2/3 of the world's population speak Spanish. Now, why doesn't she speak these languages so that we (as viewers) know she can speak them? Possibly because we never see her in a position where it would be necessary. Probably because it gives her a tactical advantage for people not to know she is multi-lingual. I mean, how many conversations can you eavesdrop on when people don't know you understand the language they're speaking? Probably comes in very handy at business meetings. Just a thought, because it's better than thinking about work.

Oh, GACK! My little profile thingy on the left says "From: Kentucky." Just let me clarify, folks. I am NOT from Kentucky. I'm FROM South Louisiana, and lived in Arizona for ten years. I am currently TRAPPED in Kentucky, a sorry situation that WILL some day be remedied. *has to figure out how to fix this, especially since everybody else is from cool places like Boston and New York and SoCal!* I gotta clear my head--think of TQ on today, think of TQ on today! Oooh...think of Tracy/Marlena femslash. Keith, I'm thinking the convention thing would work. How about using the RL thing--both are keynote speakers at a conference of successful women? Break Room folks, you KILL me! I'm older than every person who was on that chat, and you expect ME to have good short-term memory? What is so funny is that last night, I was at the sink doing dishes struggling to remember the little phrase thinking, oh, thank goodness one of THEM will remember! Then I got MsQ's email this morning and LOL! I couldn't remember what it was, so I came up with what I hope is a suitible substitute: Je T'adore! Jane Elliot/Tracy Admirers: Devotees Of Refined Excellence! Or, we could just go with "Jane Elliot Fans: Fangirling (or Fanboying) Sears Apparel Since 1978!" (100% Cotton all the way!) Oh, and MsQ, thanks for posting that link.
