  1. I love that. Cyndi and Bonnie together feels like something that should have happened long ago.
  2. The IDEA of early Buzz was interesting, and I can see why people would prefer him to the martyred Buzz we got not long after, but I just found Deas' mugging and gum chewing/lip smacking to be exhausting. It was never what I associated with GL, which had some of the finest and most restrained soap actors. It was especially bad timing to me soon after Maureen's death. Once Deas just calmed down I didn't care as much about hating Buzz, even when he still got OTT on occasion.
  3. The Washington Post has been rotten for years now. I suppose the only difference is they were more comfortable being rotten with their own group rather than someone dumped on them from a great height.
  4. I liked John Blazo a great deal. He brought a sensitivity and sincerity which was needed as a contrast to the rest of the family. I think he just didn't "pop" enough and that terrible story with Nancy didn't help.
  5. I wonder if someone was just trying to be kind to her... She would have made more sense as Trish, although I'd never want them to have anyone but Rebecca Hollen in that part.
  6. You can see brief sightings of Frank Bernard and Greg Morris in old Hollywood costumes in the first segment on this video.
  7. The first segment of this has a number of DAYS performers in old Hollywood costumes, including Kristian Alfonso, Philece Sampler, Stanley Brock, and Lisa Trusel.
  8. The first segment of this video has a number of GH cast members, including Emma Samms, Brad Maule, and (not on GH at that time of course) Constance Towers. Constance and Brad sing a duet, which reminded me of when they briefly "dated" during Tony's bad guy period that the show clearly had no interest in (Tony was basically exiled not long after).
  9. Jim Muneco has uploaded several more Capitol episodes (all still poor quality but watchable). @SFK You may be interested in this - the video is basically a Constance Towers compilation. Several appearances on Merv Griffin and a segment on Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous. In the fashion parade for the first segment, you also see Julie Parrish and Karen Kelly.
  10. A last gasp before Luke-mania did such damage to the show.
  11. Surprised to see Pat #3 getting focus here given how short his time was in the role.
  12. Nice to see a little more of this period, even just in a promo. So many little touches too, like Tom at his himbo peak, Brooke and her sarcastic kiss, etc.
  13. Per Wiki, she left in July 1982 for maternity leave, and only returned briefly for Mona's funeral.
  14. Thanks for the extra details - I know so little about this era beyond the basics so didn't know Tom Pope. As this had been online before I didn't want to tag a bunch of people but I'm glad some of the other vintage fans were interested. I always associate mid-episode time jumps with ATWT because when I was young I was fascinated by the image of the sun going up during Marland-era ATWT to emphasize the shift to a new day. Glad to see they were still willing to take a risk with the jump back then. I'm half-surprised Irna was willing to do it.
  15. Evans Evans is a great name. Donald was easily one of the most charismatic and fascinating figures in movies. For someone who struggled to get cast because of his looks, he enthralled moviegoers and TV viewers for generations. Here's a clip of the part that got him The Dirty Dozen.
  16. I agree - it was nice to see so many warm moments, especially knowing all the death to come in the show's final year. After 5-6 years of Dancy focus I wonder how fans at the end felt with just Luke there. I wish more of his relationship with Ivie, if there was any, was available. Thanks as always for the extra info. Those two years sound fascinating, and I am always interesting in seeing strike related material on any soap and how much damage it did or didn't do (would any of you say TD was damaged by the strike?).
  17. Thanks @P.J. . I remember briefly being pleased at Crampton's hiring as I had enjoyed her on Y&R. Emphasis on briefly...
  18. Thanks @P.J. and @Soapsuds. I wouldn't even call it a triangle as Tom never had any interest in Barbara. Later on, instead of the degrading and trashy storyline with Emily, they should have had Tom actually develop feelings for Barbara when she was grieving her dead baby and he felt alienated from Margo's life.
  19. And now O'Keefe is still grifting elsewhere. I don't really know why state polls have such a different result for Biden compared to national polls. State polls often have him struggling in places like New York, Minnesota, Virginia, etc. and losing in most swing states.
  20. This is another episode I found on an old disc, something I must have downloaded from Youtube ages ago. I didn't see it up on Youtube at present. If it is up there and I missed it, I will take it down. The date on mine said March 1958. If you have any more information, I will update the video. Lots of the old Irna home truths here courtesy of Grampa and Irna psychoanalysis courtesy of some teen character I hadn't seen outside of this episode but IMDB has being on for two years. Jean Mowry, who played her, was 35, but I guess black and white TV helps hide it.
  21. Thanks. I can't ever get enough of JFP era Buzz... He puts them up later, yes. There are so many I wish we could have had.
  22. Oh wow - so good to see Maeve. I will have to try to make that one. As it turns out it looks like Buzz did dress in drag at some point, maybe just not in 1994 as I had thought. (it's in a promo near the very end of this video). Of all the things for my memory to hold onto from that very alienating period...
