RIP: In Memoriam Thread
I was never able to forgive Xander for the way he treated my favourite character, Anya, but losing a part of the scooby gang hurts regardless. It's a shame he had the issues he did, especially because it seemed like his career was going well initially after Buffy ended. He was a gorgeous man in the earlier years. For some reason, I had it in my mind that Joss basically ordered him to stop working out in the later seasons. Seeing the contrast from early to late Xander is striking. It is a small comfort that he passed peacefully in his sleep and still had a creative output in his last years. Rest in Peace, Nicholas Brendon, you'll always be a part of my happy adolescent memories.

It's a shame that this build-up of Arianna and Liam is all for nought since we know the recast is coming and they'll immediately be at square one again.

Yes, but I would say the wonderful Jessie Buckley for Hamnet is the only real lock of the acting categories.

Happy Oscars day, everyone! I, and probably most on this board, would love to see Michael B. Jordan snag the trophy, even though Timothee Chalamet is the front-runner and look forward to Conan O'Brien hosting.

ARTICLE: ‘The Drew Barrymore Show’ Renewed For Two Seasons, Will Remain On Air Through 2027-2028 TV Season
I know she can be a bit much with some of her guests, but at least she's self-aware, actually listens to her guests, which so many talk show hosts rarely do these days, and has brought meaningful conversation back to daytime. Plus, it just feels right to me that the ultimate heir of Hollywood royalty has such an ongoing presence in our daily lives. I've always been a fan and always will be, so yeah, I'm happy for her.

Lexie coming back could work for me if it's done as a way of ending Rolf's magical serums once and for all. If you play it that people think it has worked, the obvious triangle aspects with Paulina and Abe, play all the beats of what her return could mean, that could be an interesting avenue to explore, whilst ending Rolf and this back from the dead nonsense for good.

SCREAM 7
THERE ARE SPOILERS AHEAD! DO NOT READ IF YOU PLAN TO WATCH! -- Things I liked: Seeing Sidney and Neve Campbell at her kick ass best again. Also, I thought it was refreshing Gail took a break from being put through the wringer. She got to take it easy with this one and she still had some of the best moments, both comedic and human. Mason Gooding/Chad is always a sight for sore eyes and surprisingly for me, this was the first time I genuinely enjoyed Mindy. I remember desperately wanting her to die in Scream 5, but becoming Gail's protégé was a genius move. Her and Chad were highlights, all the way to the end credits. The only new character that was remotely interesting was Mckenna Grace's Hannah, easily habing the best kill sequence of the film. The use of A.I. was smart and nostalgic in how he got to see some people from the past. Lastly, though for continuity sake it was a shame Mark had to be recast, I thought Joel McHale served the role as well as could be expected. Things I didn't care for: I have to wonder if they asked Rose McGowan to return as an A.I. version of Tatum 1.0, because with her being heavily referenced, it kind of served as a downer that she didn't. Most of the new characters weren't characters at all and were extremely forgettable. Sidney's daughter Tatum was an unlikable brat throughout. The Ghostface reveal was the worst one of the franchise. You couldn't have chosen a more halphazard, random, and ridiculous motive that lead itself to a convoluted exposition dump that didn't even fully make sense. Marco's motive basically being ... nothing, other than some weird submissive relationship to Jessica. It was just eye-roll worthy. Not to mention, the writing racing over the fact that Jessica had her own son killed just added to the ridiculous, long-winded drivel of a motive she had even if Anna Camp did her best to sell it. If I had to rank this Scream against the others, it's pretty easily at the bottom of the pack for me.
