Y&R Thursday

I didn't see a Y&R discussion thread for today, so I figured I'd make one.

Anyway, I thought today's episode was electrifying! I'm so glad that Paul and Ashley are no longer together, watching them was as exciting as watching a fishing show. I thought the Phyllis and Nick scenes are very well written and acted out. I loved seeing Phyllis having fun and her dance/kiss with Nick totally took me by surprise, I thought they'd try to withhold their obvious desires. By the end of the episode, I kind of felt sorry for Jack when he told Ashley about waning to propose to Phyllis on his birthday.

I thought it was a good scene cause we seriously saw a little of Michelle coming out today when she was doing the line dancing. I thought the kiss was dam HOT and from what I see its not lust but passion for each other.

Jack nope not sorry counting the days until he goes down and as for Ashley ugh may thet misery continue and Jill/Will really like eachother.

Personally, I liked the Jack Birthday dinner scenes. I loved how Carmen kept stealing looks at Neil, she likes him and it will be fun when Dru comes back and notices it as well. I felt sorry for Jack, mostly because he's still worrying about that woman who doesn't deserve him.

As for Nick and Phyllis, I've had it up to here with both of them. Every scene is the same...every scene almost ends the same. I want Y&R to either put them as a couple (so they can crash and burn and I can laugh) or end them altogether. The back and forth is annoying and it makes me turn the channel to...*shudder* AMC or Days. It's like they regress every couple of weeks and it's starting to become bothersome and boring. I'm interested in every story BUT Nicholas and Phyllis.

A bit of the old Victor made an appearance today when he was arguing with Nikki about his appointment with the doctor. He's not going and that's final. LOL! At the end though, it looks like Nikki might have finally got through to him.

I actually kinda like Paul/Ashley. They're more interesting than Will/Ashley. And if the reason that things didn't work between them was because Paul couldn't feel the huge void that Victor left, as Jack suggested, Will sure the heck ain't gonna cut it, either.

The idea of Neil and Carmen is kinda growing on me. I can't wait for Dru to return and bring on the fireworks.

It's time for Nick and Phyliss to be quarantined and to move on with the rest of the show.

I've waited patiently long enough. I want to see what LML can do with the OTHER stories.

There's still that pesky little paternity story that she ruined miserably.

Then there's the Face Cream Bandit that is now snowing over Jill and Katherine.

Then there's the Internet Pedaphile that is now Head Internet Webmaster for Jabot. If Kevin can work at Jabot on the internet, then I want to see Lily blackmail his sorry behind so that she can sell her jewelry at Jabot! What's good for the pedaphile should be good for his victim.

Then there's the misbegotten/miscast child of The Great Victor Newman held with with Brad. Mayday! Mayday! Paging Heather Tom!

Brad is so darn sleazy now that short of him being Charles Manson's son, I see his past turning out to be something lame.

Poor introduction of new characters. One day I see Carmen, then I don't see her for two weeks, so I have to remind myself who this new character is. But because she's with someone new, I forget again.

Jana? (see Carmen)

The young ladies in GC need to be mentored, yet all of the adult women are just as bad and need mentoring them darn selves. Some days I think perhaps Ashley can take Colleen under her wing: then I see Ashley run to Victor's beck and call while stringing Paul along and getting duped by GloHo and her psycho son and realize that Ashley needs mentoring her self.

Who will help Sharon? She needs help and better writing as well.

Peter Bergman is probably the best darn actor on the show: hopefully LML can find him someting better than trying to use him to make people feel sorry for poor, pregnant, defenseless Phyliss. My how the attempted murderess has changed!

I say quarantine Nick and Phyliss and start writing for the REST of the characters. Or else, Y&R is straying into GH territory with their very own version of Sonny and Carly!!!

Bank on that~

Those glances at Neil told me right then that "She's not that into you Jack" Everytime I see Jack trying to make those sly, seductive comments to Carmen, all I can say is "You dirty old man."

I can't stand Ashley....her relationship with Paul was sooooo boring; and everytime something didn't go her way, she did that whole "pouty" thing.

It's going to be interesting to see what develops between Neil and Carmen...I can see it happening just in time for Dru to come back to explode.

Everything about Nick and Phyllis reeks of an ABC and NBC written couple.

And I hate it because I love Phyllis and Michelle Stafford but this story sucks.

ETA: The way that Nick and Phyllis is written explains a lot why ABC refugees are attracted to them. Because they are written just like an ABC couple is written. Their fans even are calling them "phick." I hate that. I hate seeing that nonsense when it comes to Y&R. That is why for some Y&R fans, the show lives or dies with Phyllis and Nick. I hate that, too. "Oh No. The ratings dropped two points. Must be because there was no Nick and Phyllis"

That's exactly my opinion.

What bugs me the most is that Phyllis turns into this blubbering, mushy, pathetic frail-mess-that-needs-NiClueless-to-come-and-make-it-all-better every time she's around Nick. That's not my Phyllis. I keep trying to tell myself it's just the hormones. LOL!

It doesn't matter WHO Ashley is paired with. It's always boring because she's become quite boring. I'm glad Paul finally told her about herself. She even had the nerve to look him in his face all confident and whatnot after he told her she didn't even have the decency to call and tell him she'd be late. She was just like, "oh, yeah, well." And waved him off. But he stood his ground. Good for Paul. She kills me with how she blew Will off, but once she saw him with Jill (while she was on a date with Paul) she couldn't take her eyes off of him and had her face twisted up like she just bit into a turd.

I like Nick and Phyllis together, but I hate the gushy-wushy-girly-wirly teenage crap she emanates now whenever he's around too. For some reason it makes me uncomfortable.

Of course I had to hop on this train! You beat me to it, so I will just say... I agree. I'm not interested in Nick and Phyllis either... of course until Sharon and some "accident" where Phyllis ends up hurt is involved.

I'm not understanding why Kevin is now getting the good end of the stick, while Lily is being beat down with the bad end. She didn't graduate from school, they haven't stand anything else about her going to design school, she finds out that Neil isn't her father, Dru's gone... what more can happen? I guess Daniel cheating on her is somewhere in the future.

:lol::lol::lol:

Please don't say they'd have Daniel cheat on Lily. Who would it be with? Lawd, don't have Neil pass Carmen to Daniel when he's done.

I had to laugh when Victor said "final answer!" about going to the doctor. For a second there I thought TGVN was back. I hope they keep Zapato when he does emerge.

Nich and Phyllis are pretty hot. If that's how ABC couples are written I have to check out ABC more often. Y&R needs a few more couples like these N&P. It's been lacking in the passion department for awhile with the exception of N&P. That kiss was just amazing, imo. The corporate intrigue is fun and Y&R does that pretty well, but at the end of the day good love stories are what soaps are about for me.

I loved that Paul questioned what's going on with him and Ashley bc they are NOT a couple and dont click at all. I loved that they havent dropped Will from her sphere and I hope they pursue that. It's a good thing Paul has a clue bc those two were going nowhere.

Ugh! I hate Phyllis and Nick kissing. He should have kept his distance from her

It's not the physical stuff that makes N&P like a ABC couple. It is the fact that they are golden while Jack & Sharon are the bad guys. N&P are good while Jack & Sharon are evil. Classic ABC and NBC writing. I am not going to say that I don't enjoy that on the NBC and ABC soaps but I used as Y&R as my escape from that kind of drama because they usually write everyone on a equal level. That's not happening here. Everyone else on this show is getting kicked in the teeth but Nick and Phyllis. They are being handed everything on a silver platter. I use to think that Nick should be the father of Phyllis' baby but now I want it to be Jack's. There is more drama there because of the rift between Jack and Phyllis. Nick being the father would be anti-climaticand drama free because Phyllis kisses Nick's ass. And we all know that they will roll right over Sharon.

Hmmm. I just don't see it that way. For the longest time I thought Nick was being written as the bad guy while Sharon was being written as the good innocent one. Cheating with Phyllis on Cassie's birthday after riding her horse was something the Nick I know would never have done. I sure don't see that as Nick being written as golden. At the moment Sharon is sort of being written as the bad guy, I guess. If it's bad not to take back a cheater, even when he's trying really hard that is. The show hasn't convinced me that's the case. Sure Sharon has cheated too, but the cycle has to end somewhere.

I just don't see Nick/Phyllis as golden by any means, which doesn't stop me from thinking they are the sexiest most interesting couple on the show.
