June 27, 200619 yr Member I only remember one long version. That's the one that has all the vets on it, which is why it's my favorite. And yes, we see that one once every two or so weeks (I haven't seen it in ages, in fact, but sometimes I miss the openings b/c I'm doing chores or making lunch), which really sucks b/c that's my favorite and it used to be on once a week when the new opening started. Also, the opening that they had on today is hardly used too. They pretty much use the same two openings, which is really unfair IMO. Yeah, the only long one I know of is the one that begins with Emily (looking saner than she has a right to look!). The two that they use the most are the one that begins with Lily and the one that begins with Meg. Sometimes we get the one that begins with Katie, and sometimes we get the long one. I dont understand why they have Nancy, Lisa, Lucinda, and Hal all in one each. Makes no sense.
June 27, 200619 yr Member I like it...I've only seen the ATWT version but the background characters reminded me a bit of the last AW opening (circa 1995-1996...there was a shot with Morgan and Courtney, anyone else remember that clip?
June 27, 200619 yr Member Well, at least it's not "The Look That's Got You Hooked." That campaign was so stupid. Of course I will always have a soft spot for the "Get it On" theme. If you wanna get young and sassy bold and brassy You just got to get it on. If you wanna Get your world turning Make your light burn You just got to get it on. Get it on girl, get it on. Get it on!
June 27, 200619 yr Member I liked the CBSD promo for the entire line-up they aired today "Some days are sleazy. Some days are dangerous. (Or something to those effects). --- This is just another one of those days. The day belongs to CBS." I don't remember the exact words, but I loved the use of words.
June 27, 200619 yr Member Well, at least it's not "The Look That's Got You Hooked." That campaign was so stupid. Really? I LOVED that one, as well as the song that accompanied it. At least it made sense(CBS being the Eye Network). Lot better than "Nobody Does It Better" ICK. But none of those beat "Get It On" or "CBS Is Everything" They absolutely appealed to their target audience with those.
June 27, 200619 yr Author Member Too bad they don't make their own songs anymore. And Cla'ence was the perfect voiceover for the commercials. He was hip and happenin' and kept it poppin'! LOL! If you haven't heard him before, check out his Cla'ence Updates for Y&R. http://www.cbs.com/daytime/yr/updates/clarence/
June 27, 200619 yr Member I love the song they used for the new CBS daytime promos. It is called "Come Closer" by Jem. very cool song
June 27, 200619 yr Member I LOVE it. Just saw it and it looked amazing. Anyone have a clip of the one with Sharon/Nick/Phyllis?
June 28, 200619 yr Member If you'll remember, "Come on Closer" was also used in the promos leading up to the premiere of Desperate Housewives.
June 28, 200619 yr Member I have Jem's album, Finally Woken, but Come On Closer is my least favorite track. Could be because so many shows have used it for promos! But she's fantastic. I've finally gotten to see the promos for each show and I love it. MUCH better than the dull one we've been having. I know many loved that, but I though the grey was so ugly and boring. This looks very chic and sophisticated. I could see them using this in primetime, though I know they won't.
June 28, 200619 yr Member Looks like a BETTER version of the ABC promos. Love the use of light on this one. Though you think with a saying like "The day belongs to CBS" they would brighten it up a bit, but I do like it though.
June 28, 200619 yr Member For those wondering about ATWT's opening, they only have one long opening and it starts with Emily and ends with Lily.
