Maury is higher than Ellen!?!? For a while, I thought that that show was cancelled! Every other episode is a "Who's my baby's daddy?" I swear, Maury must own his own DNA clinic w/ all the DNA testing that occurs on that show.

The reason why MILLIONAIRE isn't higher rated is because Buena Vista waited WAY TOO LATE to premiere the show in syndication. If they would have struck while the iron was hot(like 2000 or even 2001(the year they did all those stupid Celebrity shows), it would have probably surpassed WHEEL in total viewers.

The shock for me is that ET is higher rated than ACCESS HOLLYWOOD, which is clearly a more hip and flashy show than ET, IMO.

As far as who will replace Meredith, anyone Brian Frons chooses will probably suck ass at the job. But I don't think she will juggle both TODAY and MILLIONAIRE. Someone else will be announced to fill the chair this summer.

LOL...I love Maury. They air 2 shows where Im from and you're right, every day there's a paternity test. It's trashy fun. I think Ellen is overated and one of the most unfunniest comedians I've seen. I dont see her appeal and find her as interesting to watch as paint drying

I watch Maury too, but I always thought his ratings were bad from the quality of the show.

I like the ones they have w/ a hypnotist, and the ones w/ the couples who are complete opposites (like that 96 year-old lady who was dating a 20-something year-old guy!) Those are always funny! And then the ones w/ the amazing home videos are always shocking!

The paternity test ones are so bad. Sometimes it's like, how many guys could one woman sleep w/ in a 2-3 week period!? And then sometimes they're sad b/c they practically destroy marriages and friendships. Also, the ones w/ the overweight babies are always really sad too. :(

those piss me off, especially when they have those ignorant ass mothers who feed their kids more stuff in one day then I ate in a 1 week period! Are you kidding me? I just want to go off on them bc they are slowly killing their child. Not too mention the ridicule they'll get when they go to school bc kids can be cruel.

The paternity test ones are crazy. I would be embarassed if I were those women. Coming on the show 10 times testing 13 men and not knowing? I hate how stupid they sound saying they are 200% sure and start yelling at the men for not doing anything for their kids when they've already been on the show multiple times testing countless other men.

I also like the hypnosis shows. They had one a few weeks back where this one woman was scared of mustard and acted like a dam fool when they brought them out...lol

ET is an institution...it has been one of the highest rated syndicated programs since its debut in 1981. AH was a blatant attempt by NBC to copy it, coming right after the Time Warner blatant carbon copy attempt with the original concept of EXTRA, which since has been revamped into a hodgepodge mess of a cross between ET and INSIDE EDITION.

Am I the only one who misses the glory days of HARD COPY?

    • The first show I found had Maeve dressed horribly, and I just shook my head and thought she must've been thrilled to be portraying someone much more sophisticated and rich. Vanessa's hats and gloves probably cost more than her AW character's entire wardrobe.
    • It is the least aware sobriety memoir I've ever read. No spoilers, but where was the editor to ask what she learned from all the stories in her life?
    • Well awards like these are certainly different from big name award shows in a few ways but this is an awards show, not a poll. Not the same gravitas, not the same cachet, etc. but an actual awards presentation show is going to happen. We Love Soaps used to have one. The Webbys, etc. various.  But if you are aware of a better place for this to be posted, then say so, but to be clear, NOT A POLL.
    • Ok I just bought Kim's book on Amazon... should be an interesting read.
    • Well, I think she's trying to be funny, and it's technically accurate, if misleading. If you leave out the Sonni part it's "Josh left Reva to (go to) Venezuela shortly before Reva had her miscarriage because of Vanessa." I guess "Josh left Reva after finding out the child she was carrying was his father's, and miscarried because of her drugged out step-daughter-in-law, where he met a woman with split personality..." isn't as "snappy". As for Robert, I thought he clicked with Harley and Annie, not so much Olivia. I'm on the fence about Sonni. Before Reva came to town, he crapped out with Morgan and Hillary, but a) I don't think anyone really had chemistry with Jennifer Cooke, who was not good, and b) I don't think the romance with Hillary was ever much more than filler. (oooh, Josh and Katie might've been cute...) But, after Reva, Josh was never really chem tested with actresses. I know there was some kind of flirtation with Jenna, which still seems odd to me (especially since Jenna was hiding a pregnancy).  But other than Cassie, Josh got involved with other women (from what I recall) when either he was out of town, or Reva was presumed dead. He didn't bust up with Reva and start dating around town.
    • Thanks for the info. Timm was a model for years, so one could speculate he may have done something like nudity etc... that violated CBN's moral clause. He was good in the role. He had an awesome mop of 80's blow dried hair that would rival Ted McGinley.....LOL
    • Before I met Reva, I really did enjoy Josh and Annie. The beginning of their relationship was really cute, the flirting and chemistry was there. I was fully into it, but then I learned who Jeva was and realized it couldn't sustain. I just read a few interviews that Kim gave online, and it's pretty clear she loves her wine, which I love. I'm a wine guy too, so I'm not surprised she had to have a little here and there to get through some things.
    • Opinion polls conducted by soap podcasters are not the same as "soap opera award shows".
    • Unfortunately, that period of the show would likely just put you to sleep. A part of me agrees, as I do think Robert is a good actor (better than I gave him credit for at the time), but I'm not sure, aside from Harley, how much he ever clicked with other ladies. He did have some spark with Crystal Chappell. I know there were claims they didn't get along either, although I remember reading somewhere (I think) a story about how Michelle was panicking when they had to film the rope ladder scenes in Venezuela, and Kim had to help her through...and Kim had also had a bit to drink.  (I hope I have the details right)
