OK, I found this very funny.

So Joy hosts a benefit show every year at Caroline's Comedy Club in Manhattan for ovarian cancer research. Well, as they're going to break, Meredith brings it up and Joy says who will be there. See how Joy avoids saying "Rosie O'Donnell" in front of Star, describing her as a surprise guest. The look on that idiot Star's face is priceless! haha!

I don't like Rosie, but I'll take her over that freak Star.

I loved how Joy shot her eyes at Star when she mentioned why she wasn't going to name any names. Then the camera on Star Jones -- "let's go!" Man, if looks could kill, that whole audience would be dead.

Yeah, it was smart on ABC's part to hire Rosie knowing Star would leave. I can't think of one woman so universally hated, but she brought it on herself with her !@#$%^&*]y attitude.

Well if Rosie had gastric bypass I bet she wouldnt hide it.

Rumor is Star is out in August with Meredith. Rosie in for Meredith and supposedly Gayle King (best known for being Oprah's friend, she has a solid background in journalism) is up to replace Star. I think this would be good, Gayle could step into Merediths role of the moderator. I've also read that Joy might be leaving in August as well. All their contracts are up. Might be a whole new View come fall.

Hahaha this doesn't suprise me Star I think dislikes most female comedians I remember when Kathy Griffin was on there one time and she moved far away from her on the couch and wanted nothing really to do with her.

Rosie should heat up the show a bit with her very vocal opinions. I agree with Roise I don't get why Star can talk about her breast augmentation but won't even admit to having gastric bypass surgery. Most people in the public eye who have had it done talk openly about it, because it is a risky procedure. I mean lots of people die from the procedure.

Anyhow I wasn't aware that some of the others might not return to the VIEW. But I probably with watch at least the first show when Rosie joins. Should be an interesting whole new spin on the VIEW.

BTW ABC upfronts are today.

Meredith is laughing about the trainwreck THE VIEW will become once she leaves.

I hope they offer Star more money to keep her on the show. I want fur to fly between she and Rosie.

Rosie and Elisabeth too....OMG!

I am SO ready for this.

    • It's tough for me because I feel like this has always been Lulu. She used to be even worse, slut-shaming, verbally abusing other women, and always being written as being in the right. They should let Brook Lynn get dirtier, but I think the material of Lulu digging and being self-righteous, making everything worse even while not intending to do so, but also not being as in the wrong as Dante thinks she is, all makes sense for her. But I don't have as much experience with Lulu as a lot of fans as I just could never stomach her beyond the time she was a mute kid, so I don't have much right to speak.
    • Thanks @JAS0N47 for all the ratings!   All My Children hits Number 1 in the ratings for the first time in its history during the week of 8/20/73-8/20/73!
    • I think the writing is slanted against Lulu.  I don't think there is an issue with the character in general.  I just think Lulu comes doesn't get many layers or nuance in her writing.  Lulu becomes obnoxious and a bully to Brook Lynn and both characters SHOULD have flaws.
    • Totally here for Anita dumping Sharon in the past for first Dante Green, and then Vernon...

    • Amanda Setton and Rena Sofer was once again really good in today's episode.  As a Lucky/Liz fan, I didn't like their scenes either.  And they are nowhere near a proposal because they haven't been given a real story.
    • I don't think Lulu is written that badly.  Lucky they do seem to have no real interest in. I wonder if this is another story they have decided to wrap up abruptly as it makes zero sense to have what would have clearly been serious conflict between Liz and Lucky just get shrugged off by her. Maybe the intense viewer negativity toward Kristina got through to them.
    • This is what kills me about the complaints that the show is moving too slow. I don't think any of the other soaps has revealed as much as BTG has in the same time frame. Not only are stories moving but it's rotating as well. Y&R has been teasing that Dumas character since February with no reveal in sight. B&B was one day for the majority of May with very limited storylines. GH had a strong final week of May but the storylines had been dragging for months prior to that. I appreciate that BTG doesn't focus so much on recapping and keeps the stories moving. I have anticipation about certain ones like Martin and Anita's secrets but I'm not worried about it because the writers have proven they will keep these stories moving at a strong pace.
    • John and Marlena's love story is over.

As I started watching in 1993, and they became my favourite couple because of storylines like The Affair, Maison Blanche, The Possession, Aremid, and The Secret Room - just five straight years of amazing stories.  The funny thing is, in all of those stories, John and Marlena were never truly together, but I was fine with that because I knew how much they loved each other - Deidre and Drake just had so much chemistry and made it so believable.   Deidre was fantastic today, especially in that last scene where Marlena told John it was okay for him to rest now.  I agree with @j swift, that having a body for Marlena, and everyone else, to say goodbye to was the right choice, as well as just having Marlena there alone as John dies.   Marlena: John, I love you so…. John: I love you too, Doc. Marlena: I need you to listen to me.  You have put up the bravest fight I have ever seen. The thing is I….I know you’re weary, I know you’re suffering…..If you need to go, it’s okay. I know that you’re worried me, about the children….You have given us all the love we will ever need. We will always have you in our memories. We will always hold you in our hearts. So…it’s okay if you rest now. You can rest now.   Bo and Hope are my second favourite couple, so for them to be part of this episode made it even more special.  I loved the inclusion of Zack - in the flashback and in the family scene at the Brady Pub.  John dies and Bo wakes up.  Two great love stories intertwining and showcased (loved the flashbacks!) in today's very emotional episode.     Great recap @Bright Eyes
