I've been watching old reruns of Law & Order and Law & Order SVU.

Last month I saw SVU, Season 20, Episode 23 from May 2019 "Assumptions".
There was an interesting guest actor. She played an interesting character -- a liberal New York Muslim politician who spoke out for various causes, including Palestine. She was raped and there was a convoluted storyline trying to figure out what happened.
At first it was assumed that this was due to some angry Jewish teens, but it wasn't them. The reveal was that her character was a closeted lesbian, and her exhusband raped her.

I thought the actress did well and had lot of fire. But she looked familiar so I checked IMDB for the episode cast.

It was Nazneen Contractor !

She was so much more interesting there, in one episode, seven years ago, probably well-rehearsed and well-directed.
So unlike her portrayal of the drab ADA Turner on GH.

I was reading these SON GH threads, and someone said last month or the month before, that she had one scene with some fire. Must have been well-directed?

I believe she does come from money. Her dad was wealthy, but she grew up in Indio, CA-which isn't the most wealthy part of Palm Springs. She's not the most reliable narrator but she does have 90210 and Las Vegas syndication deals and maybe just invested wisely.

The amount of time The Rock plays on TV I would assume she gets money for that even if it's like 10 minutes of screen time.

I caught Bold and BTG today(I skipped episodes) but GH I haven't watched yet. I've been behind in all soaps.

She is pretty frugal for an LA celebrity. She bought property during her original GH run, and apparently invested wisely. When she had a podcast with her friend Suzanne that passed away they talked about her being very frugal when it came to everyday things, loved a coupon, thrifting, and inexpensive beauty products. I believe she owns her home outright, has other property, and her kid isn’t a spoiled Hollywood type. She must have some decent passive income because she isn’t desperate to work but also doesn’t seem to have come from a ton of money.

Her dad was abusive and not part of her life for a period of time, they made peace before he died. Her mom lives on her property, I don’t think Marcil was raised with money. She has spoken about the financial difficulties she experienced with Brian Austin Green when it came to court cases about their son.

One of the things about her podcast that I liked was she was relatively unguarded just talking with Suzanne, and it felt like when she did let something out it seemed to be genuine. For someone that had family court cases for years with a celebrity desperate to be seen as a good guy, and her various marriages, she has kept a lot of her private life private. I feel like I know everything about Maurice lol.
