And now BtG is going on a break. Clearly budget related.

It's not budget-related.

BTG is contracted for 238 episodes in season 2. The standard is 250 episodes, but BTG isn't there yet.

That alone means we're going to get 12 more days of repeats than the other soaps do.

The problem some of us have is the way BTG is scheduling these "encores." I just don't think it's the best approach to take off an entire week.

The show definitely plays it too safe quite often, which I think can be detrimental to both stories and characters.

Well at least with the early renewal BTG will get the average episode number of other soaps.

Last year we got two full weeks of repeats, but I don't think that will be the case this year. I think the remaining repeats will be sprinkled throughout the rest of the year. Last year is the 4th of July week and the week of Labor Day.

I agree with you. While I understand that BTG's episode count requires a few more preemptions throughout the year, I don't think a full week is the best strategy especially since the holiday is on the weekend. I think no episode this Friday would have been a good idea and a more scattered approach with the rest.

Had you asked me 20 years ago, a preemption like this would have been more annoying. I actually looked forward to the breaks last year. The way we consume TV nowadays is so different that it can be overwhelming with all the streaming and constant access to new content. We aren't sitting down at a specific hour to watch something or limited to a few networks or channels that appeal to us. We have full libraries accessible at all hours. So a break to catch up or watch other things can feel needed sometimes.

Personally, being on holiday this week, it'll be helpful with BTG having repeats all week, but that sure is a shocker. I expected maybe 2 days...

Lord...if Tomas don't exit already...

I expect the show to rebroadcast the Y&R crossover episodes, possibly during Labor Day week, if they do another week of repeats later this year.

That was the week they did do a full week of repeats in 2025, so I suspect that to be the case again.

Well, I would think that since it's a week of repeats that my system would have last week's episodes on my system, but alas. It's app viewing for me the next few days to catch up.

Outside of the dream episode, I've been liking this week. I'm just not sure how I feel about the resolution so far on Eva and Kat. I did like that Eva ADMITTED that she be playing victim like people have been saying. I just wish someone other than Kat was in the room to hear it. I do worry this puts a stopper in Eva vs Kat, and I feel that is a mistake. There is still so much mileage to get out of their rivalry that I feel it's too easy to stop right now. And unless the dream episode was some form of foreshadowing (baby switch?), I really didn't get the point.

I do like that Andre/Dani/Bill continue to be the B story so far. And sleeping with Bill is giving Dani all kinds of guilt. And they continue to build up the closeness of Dani/Andre (oooo some sexy time @kalbir with essential r&b music!) to make the reveal that much worse. If GH does pull the trigger on Chase/Willow/BLQ...I hope the guilt and stakes are written the same way as how it appears to be written here.

I tell you. If Tomas proposes to Kat...I am just going to add that on to a clue to his exit storyline.

So...that whole plot with Madison, Bill's old partner, and Chels is going to be completely off screen? smh.

While I am happy Nicole popped up before the end of Monday's episode for her baby, it was so weird to me to hear Nicole's name, but not see Nicole as Kat was dealing with surgery. Is my Daphne the most paid actress on the show? I just kinda went hmmm.

Dani might have been with Andre, but she could have been thinking about Bill.

We know Andre will eventually find out about Dani/Bill, and he's going to be devastated.

Yeah you’re right, scheduling a full week of repeats is not the way to go. Instead they could have just had 12 weeks (most of them holiday weeks) with 4 episodes instead of 5. Also, live viewers would probably be more likely to actually watch the repeats if they weren’t all clumped together like they are this week.

BTG has really been firing on all cylinders. I have thoroughly enjoyed season two. However, as much as I find Hayley amusing, I need this storyline with her killing Bill to wrap up and I'm not a fan of Joey & Vanessa as a couple.

I agree with you about the Hayley poisoning plot going on way too long. And I’m saying this as a guy who grew up on Bill Bell soaps where, for example, the court case for custody of Cassie went on for almost a full year! How can Hayley have been poisoning Bill since last autumn and he STILL shows almost no effects from the poison? He passed out that one time but besides that, he’s been fine. A viewer could have stopped watching last year before Thanksgiving and decided to start watching again this summer and the viewer wouldn’t have missed anything except the Lynette tangent of the story, which seems to have led to nowhere anyway. So when it comes down to it, there has been ZERO development in the poisoning plot in almost a year.

I am already suspending my disbelief that there is some magical poison that is lethal and totally untraceable (if such a poison really existed, I imagine EVERYONE would be using it to murder others). Then again, the poison seems ineffective anyway, which leads me to believe the yearlong poisoning of Bill exists solely to extend Hayley’s storyline until the writers decide to bring it to a climax. And I’d bet my next paycheck that the storyline will conclude with Randy and Hayley trying to dispose of Bill in some “accident” that has nothing at all to do with the poisoning.
