Alexis with a boy would be a lot of mess.

Especially when that boy grows up and becomes involved with someone who makes Alexis' teeth itch. ;)

Believe me, there's plenty of drama to be had from a feminist attorney who nevertheless dominates her son and only child.

I could understand the fans putting up a fuss*, but actors like NLG need to get it through their thick skulls that it is their jobs to play what they are given to play and nothing else. If they want to dictate stories, then they need to quit acting and become writers. And I say all that as someone who still adores NLG, drunk tweets and all, lol.

I tend to agree, but I do wonder if NLG was worried she was about to be fired. Alexis was in a real hole during those years. Having one of Sonny's kids (and I think this was actually Sonny's first biological child to survive) was great insurance.

(*Well, I could understand up to a point. I do think there comes a time when the fans just need to sit down, be quiet and watch the show (or not). Similarly, I wish TPTB would realize that you can't always cater to fans' demands; that, to paraphrase former Y&R EP David Shaughnessy, even if the fans cry bloody murder over something happening today, they'll get over it in time).

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Alexis Davis never should've had any children. And if she had to have children, she should've had a boy.

I don't disagree.

The Alexis/Carly/Sonny wars got rough.

I am not going to solely blame NLG although she largely took credit for it, but there was BTS changes at the time and NLG fully got her punishment by having to play Dobson the butler for a long while.

Or what if he embraced his Cassandine heritage and wanted all of it.
