Not a bad episode, but also a bit of a momentum lull after last week. Yes, it's weird for a non-Brady to have their memorial in the pub, but given that this soap runs on a penny budget, they did the best they could. Nice switch-up with some different character interactions, as well. Nice to have a DiMera-lite beginning to the week.

And thank f**k Melissa Reeves was not in some oversized farming dress like she's been the past few times we have seen her. However, I could do without seeing her period. It's a crying shame they let Cady McClain slip through their fingers, but their loss was Beyond the Gates' gain. And JJ needs a storyline. An actual storyline, not a rehashing from the previous sh*t regimes. Casey Moss is too good to be playing supporting.

Honestly, we are lucky to even see Casey Moss at this point. He airs like once a month. It's been time to use him and Brandon Beemer more regularly, but instead we have JPL doing a vaudeville act using as many goofy faces he can muster 4 times a week.

And all three are recurring to boot, so it's surprising that Lavoisier is on more. Guess they want to use Philip more as a character. 🤷🏻

Yeah; he's been recurring since his return in 2024. Wouldn't know it by how often he's used, and at this point, I wouldn't be upset in promoting him to contract. Although, on a penny budget where you just demoted Elia Cantu and Galen Gering to recurring, lmao...

I meant to ask this the other day so thank you for clarifying about Casey Moss. I wasn't sure if JJ was in town currently.

Ehhhh... he's grown on me... except for the facial expressions 😂😂

Some people on here were suggesting Scott Clifton would be a good Philip, but I wonder if anybody else could be good in the role

JPL is such an odd choice. I am sure JPL is a fun guy and cool and whatever, but Phillip isn't this weird jokester of a character making wisecracks and silly faces all the time. Even Real World Star Kyle Brandt played Phillip with appropriate seriousness. It has never worked and it never will. JPL seems to be playing himself?

Also, Days did JKJ dirty his last run making him practically a psycho so I doubt he will ever come back.

That's because Brandt was too busy looking up every word of his dialogue in the dictionary to put any other spin on his part.

I understand how others feel about JPL, but I like him in the role. I know I'm in the minority on this board.

Is he Quirky? Different from other Phillips? Yes -- but I don't have a problem with that at all, especially on a show that can use a jolt of something different onscreen that isn't Leo acting like he walked out of The Birdcage in every scene.

Is JPL bringing parts of himself to this role. Sure. I OK with that.

Days should be ashamed of their Memorial Day episode! Absolutely disgusting that Days tried to do Memorial Day and failed. Having Philip dress up and be Semper Fi and recount his anti Semper Fi acts was ridiculous. Always faithful, always loyal. Then they did a Memorial Day board??? What a slap in the face to those who did serve and lost their lives. Do better next time, Days.
