I don't really care what some viewers elsewhere want or don't want. I do think they should've done a real triangle with the sisters and a viable man already. Tomas is not it, and the Eva/Izaiah relationship has been written terribly bland despite the heat between two attractive actors. Izaiah was supposed to be the roughneck Hawthorne brother and he is written like Archie Andrews. Playing with the Kat option is a no-brainer to me even if it isn't the final story path. Or bring on some other dude. Something has to make Eva and Izaiah heat up at least.

The Kat/Eva fandoms online are a classic soap fanbase scuffle where the fanbases are partly populated by new people who legitimately don't know how daytime soaps work. Keeping the sisters in a love/hate relationship is gold for the show. The problem is it hasn't been properly utilized onscreen in awhile. Izaiah should've gone to work around Kat long ago or with Dani at the agency as was hinted at, and Eva and Kat should've been thrown together in a work environment. These are fundamentals which can pay out for years to come.

Its stupid that Vanessa would even take Lynette as a client. No realter is going to do that if the person cant prove they can afford to pay for the property. She has no pay stubs coming in nor does she have money in her bank account right now. A background check would likely disqualify her anyway

LOL! You did not say Archie.

I do agree Isaiah is a bit tame. When I think bad boy I think Vincent Jones from OLTL or someone in that vein.

960px-Beyond_the_Gates_%282025_logo%29.s

original release date: Thursday, April 16, 2026 | writers: Jamey Giddens, Jazmen Darnell Brown | director: Anthony Pascarelli

Thoughts:

  • Not Dani avoiding entering her tradwife era! Hilarious. But it is enjoyable seeing Andre integrate more into the Dupree family mould.

  • Hayley is slapping on the compliments like thick molasses. Hilarious. Her efforts are so excessive that they border on absurdity.

  • Vanessa in business mode is wonderful. She is not one to mess with when it comes to her real estate.

  • Damn... Lia is scary when she is making demands of Ren. Looks like she really is not the person you want to be on the bad side of.

  • Hilarious that Hayley thinks that Nicole's love life is messy when she is simply playing the field, which is allowed.

  • Wow... so ChelseaKat is truly going global and international. That is a massively major step for their company.

  • Naomi being so uncomfortable with how mushy Andre and Dani can be is hilarious. But you can also sense the disappointment in the idea that Dani and Bill were not reconnecting beyond friendship.

  • I appreciate the growth and maturity Martin has gone through in the past nearly thirteen months and that he is now supporting Bradley in his career return.

  • The grief for Douglas is still all over Vanessa's face. Hopefully once whatever she is working on against Joey is done, she can fully process his loss.

  • I doubt Lynette is gone. That just seemed far too easy to be true.

  • Jacob... you are officially in way over your head with this plasma ring! BE SAFE!

Notes:

  • Not another writer2 day in one week... ugh. This is unfortunate. Thankfully, Brown is a masterful scriptwriter who can turn s**t into gold.

  • Barbara Ryan Originals? Spectra knock-offs? Hilarious today! Great use of CBS history.

No way Lynette is dead or gone. That would be such a mistake on the showrunners part squandering the character and actress like that.

Poor Jacob I knew that beat down was coming. Maybe he needed it though to really get his head in the game.

Also stupid is the intense level of anger Vanessa had over the Lynette situation. And then going into a rant about her work as a realtor while she paces around the backroom at the Golden Corral Casino? GMAB

4-10

Well darrrrrrrrrrrrrrrnnnnnnnn!!! Vanessa vs Nicole was vicious. But that is how real friends can fight from time to time so I found it true to life even as I was gasping at the low blows. I was Team Nicole of course.

I found this such an odd episode. The weakest of the last half of the week which has been surprisingly good at momentum. Momentum was even here as well, given so much was place setting. But again, it also FELT like it was place setting.

I liked Joey pot stirring. Even if he doesn't know everything that is going on, he knows something is going on and sitting back and waiting to see if it will be something he can use to his advantage. And it was funny to watch him with Randy and hearing Vanessa's call to Lynette knowing that Joey knows Hayley/Randy are in cahoots, some of their lies, and of course, the truth about Hayley's 'attack.' It really amps up the Hayley storyline as the walls continue to ever slowly close in on her. And I love how Timon continues to play Bill's scenes as of late...you can really see the wheels turning in Bill's head slowly, but surely. Meanwhile, Deanna zeroing in on Joey continues to be exciting for me to watch. Both are building the anticipation.

Awwww June. That was well acted. And June ain't wrong to not want to go and embarrass Samantha and Ty. But it looks like she's going to the cotillion.

So a new story for Madison? Or old? They have been teasing Madison's mother as much as they have teased Deanna and Darlene. So I hope this does bring her to Fairmont Crest. Still hope in the form of a soap vet.

I did like that Smitty wiggle his way out of the cliffhanger from last episode. But he is being so stupid by winding up dragging Nicole into this plasma ring storyline.

And yay! Cliffhangers with Nicole's discovery on her computer that will lead to trouble...and of course I am living for Deanna confronting Joey about Vanessa.

Vincent was an idiot tbh. Played by a guy who by all accounts did not work hard. They tried to use him to replace R.J. but R.J. was one of a kind and Tim Stickney dissed Tobias Truvillion years later. But yes, Shemar on Y&R came off tougher than Izaiah does.

-- Vanessa's meltdown was bad enough, but then we got Chelsea's spiral, which seemed to be completely over-the-top. This ridiculous lawsuit -- one that doesn't sound legit on any level -- can hurt ChelseaKat? Come on.

-- Vanessa can keep mentioning Doug until the cows come home. None of it makes me believe she cares about him or ever cared.

-- And here goes Lauren Buglioli with that hitch in her voice again to show she's emotional.

-- So Joey gets major props from Vanessa for "caring about her friendships with other women." The bar is really low.

-- Martin's security detail is hilarious. Having the guy stay THISCLOSE to Martin is hilarious.

-- Randy AGAIN meeting Hayley at Uptown, the highest profile place in town? They are such dumb criminals.

-- Meanwhile, Jacob gets a new hangout, this one all wood instead of all brick. I mean, what the actual hell? 😂 But at least we had Jacob using ANOTHER variation of his street accent. 🤣

-- I was happy to see Nicole spitting today -- first at Hayley, then at trash Vanessa, and even at Lia about bringing in corrupt cop Marcel on the hacking case.

-- To me, that Marcel move makes Lia another dumb criminal in town. And I kind of love it that wardrobe puts her in the most boring, ugly pantsuits from Chico's.

4/13 Episode

It's a shame that a short term/recurring character such as Lia is played by someone that can act and has presence.

Ashley works so well in supporting realm and this episode highlighted it.

I hate the Dupree propping. MVJ still hasn't shaken the stench of working in modern day soaps and constant character/couple propping.

SPS works best when opposite someone that at least pretends to enjoy her company.. she becomes more restrained, secure, and able to show a fun side.
