Not to judge anyones right to have an abortion but I would hate if they wrote this and Naomi would get even more hate than she does now. She has enough reasons why she would have an abortion but tying it into the BRCA gene would not sit right. Its not a death sentence nor does it affect quality of life like lets say some genetic disorders like Down Syndrome. This would not be a strong enough push to have her abort a baby. She's already doing too much lying about her results adn that would just take things too far into territory that would make it hard to salvage the character. That wouldnt just cause problems for Jacob and her; its grounds for divorce

I do get what you're saying to some degree... I don't know... I guess I'm just frustrated. They clearly have no idea what to do with Naomi as a character and they never have. If they really want Naomi to be child-free, then they need to stick to it, but if she's just insecure and afraid because of her upbringing and the way she was raised, then they should've made that clearer. Otherwise it's just going to make her look even more hypocritical and wishy-washy like she doesn't even know what she wants. They should've just left her a lot more ambivalent about having kids and never made this big show about her wanting to be child-free, like Jacob was. That's my two cents.

Naomi and Jacob are often boring period. Which is why I would've had (and still might have!) her and Izaiah have a torrid affair, which would be a precursor to something with Jacob and Kat, and/or Izaiah eventually settling into a more interesting long-term pairing with either Eva or Kat. Naomi with her husband's outlaw brother would be a drama engine, not an endgame pairing. And what Eva and Izaiah have going right now is more bland than it needs to be for those two.

Well I expect with Darlene on canvas to be disapproving on Izaiah/Eva and locking horns with Silk Press Sheila, Izaiah/Eva won't stay bland for too much longer.

BTG is definitely planting the seeds for what I believe will be an explosive May and June. I'm loving it all.

I just need that renewal announcement already, so I can breathe a sigh of relief.

I agree with that. I just wish the journey had not been tedious versus last year same time where I felt it had more flow to it and a build that felt organic.

Same.

I can breathe a sigh of relief, too, knowing that JHC can finally stop jammin' on the one or whatever the hell she said.

960px-Beyond_the_Gates_%282025_logo%29.s

original release date: Tuesday, April 14, 2026 | writers: Natalie Minardi Slater, Skyy Sandifer | director: Michael V. Pomarico

Thoughts:

  • I can only imagine how much Anita's heart must be beating in her throat with new test results coming in. But it is always better to brace oneself.

  • Hayley and Randy are getting more and more lax in their deception. They must be following the basic principles of deception (a.k.a., How to Be a Con Artist for Dummies).

  • Randy needs to be careful: Lynette is smarter than he and Hayley combined. The true con artist.

  • Moments like this, one's life flashes before their eyes, and her words with Dani show just how far their relationship has come in the past 12½ months.

  • Naomi, if you wanted a drama-free day, I hate to say it but your sister is not the person you should have gone to. 🤣

  • I get why Bradley is trying to ignore Jacob's persistent texting (this is why I hate texting in general), but it is just making things look more suspect to Nicole.

  • I know Bill told Tomas that he believes Hayley is being manipulated and conned by Lynette... but I hope that he is able to see through Hayley's less-than-stellar and believable lies.

  • Anita relying upon Sharon is still wonderful. And I love that Sharon is able to give Anita a solid laugh at Tracy's expense.

  • Okay, Lynette, get yourself some Randy. Enjoy that romp in your hotel room.

  • The maturity of Dani has been breathtaking, and I love seeing her as a voice of support to Nicole right now.

  • Thank goodness it is good news. Knowing that she is inching closer to a lumpectomy is fantastic news! What a relief!

  • Not the split screen of the conning cousins at the end. Whew. What a visual.

Notes:

  • Breath of fresh air with Slater as a breakdown writer. Classic soap script with ease of flow. Nothing felt out of place. And despite Sandifer's background, she is quickly becoming a fine scriptwriter.

  • Tamara Tunie (Anita) continues to shine in this storyline. Her delivery is authentic, heartfelt, and most importantly, real. There is nothing flowery about what is being told, and I appreciate that through the writing, Tunie is able to keep everything rooted in realism.

  • The continued use of FaceTime is so refreshing. And it is done in such a realistic, seamless way that it feels like they're being done in real-time. Amazing.

I haven't watched today, but I am surprised Randy and Hayley are getting lax considering that Tomas is catching on and Lynette and Joey threatening to expose or derail their plans.

But you're right about Randy and Hayley not being the brightest con artists despite having pulled this same stunt multiple times successfully.

Too bad Wonder Twins is taken already, because that would be a fantastic nickname for Hayley and Randy's idiotic selves.

-- Really weird decision for Anita to warn her daughters of her chemo results BEFORE getting those results. All it did was give us repetitive scenes with Dani and Nicole, and it doesn't seem like something Anita would do. Good acting, but those are beats that don't work for me.

-- Jacob yelling at Smitty again and now declaring he's in charge. This has become so tiring.

-- How does Jacob hanging in that brick-walled alley help his connection with Grayson? Get this plasma story moving, because the slower it moves, the worse it looks.

-- Marcel Malone is the cop assigned to investigate the hacking. Are you serious with this?

-- The Hayley/Randy/Lynette mess is fun, and I like it. I don't think any of them come off as particularly smart, though.

-- Cringe lines of the day: when Lynette asked Randy to go with her to buy a bed because they'd be going through a lot of them. That was clunky as all hell.

So am I.

I'm really starting to like Haley. The most inept con artist.
