It's unfortunate, but as @Errol explained previously, contractually, ABC/CBS/NBC are to report on these things as they are news networks, IIRC.

It's very unfortunate especially after looking at the highlights he wasted everyone's time, but yeah you're right.

-- This entire episode was such a heavy anvil to tell us Jacob would be hurt or even killed. I hope they don't go for something so obvious and are really subverting expectations.

-- The hair department worked overtime for Naomi's wigs alone.

-- I'm glad the show is finally letting us see that Jacob and Naomi love each other. We got months and months where I wasn't really sure, which I think was a mistake.

-- The Izaiah backstory was interesting, but I still don't think they've explained the distance between Izaiah and Elon. Not buying it.

-- Just watched the first half of the show that was pre-empted. Jesus, they're REALLY laying it on thick about Jacob.

I think all this talk about the sets would be lessened if the writing was better. People would be more focused on the action/dialogue than drifting off wondering "why doesn't Naomi have an office?". I agree, I'd watch a show that had one set if the writing kept me engaged between the characters.

It's definitely the writing for me.

Whoever thought an entire show revolving around Jacob and Naomi was a good idea was seriously mistaken.

BORING! WTF asked for a Naomi and Jacob episode? This was easily the worse episode of the season and one of the worst since the show started. I can appreciate flashbacks but this should have been sprinkled in over time not dedicated in its one filler episode that you really can skip as it does nothing to advance the plot

Yeah today's show was good and very welcome... seeing the flashbacks of events/moments that were established in the past was great to see (similar to what we've had with Bill/Dani).

Really? Im on the complete opposite spectrum where this is concerned

I'll be honest. When I watched the last 25 minutes of the network broadcast, I was ok with it.

When I watched the first 35 minutes online, I thought it was way too much Naomi and Jacob and tried way too hard.

It's really ok to skip the entire episode.

I kind have wanted to know their backstory so I guess me LOL

Granted, I'd take an episode like this over love scenes between Joey/Vanessa or Dani/Andre. Gotta have something for the more chaste viewer :)

I guess I'm going to be criticized for not having anything negative to say, but I though it was insightful and that Mama Hawthorne is kind of out of control.

Exactly. It's like they realized that no one liked Naomi and Jacob, and tried to gaslight us with one episode. One episode talkin' about Detective Hottie does not excuse most of the last fifteen months.

And thumbs down on Naomi throwing out "Cabrini Green" to prove the Duprees aren't snobs.

Saw this on Facebook. I would really love to see Darlene and Leslie go head to head. I don't think Leslie will stand a chance.
