Didn't Leslie get into the Country Club by funding a new sports center or something? Has that been mentioned again?

I am a little disappointed in Nicole of late with the antics of her 2 bf's. I was hoping originally that she would be forgiving of Ted and try to make the marriage work, and over the months we would go on that journey.

With other stuff happening that would see her ultimately deciding on divorce. Maybe meeting Kiall while still married but vulnerable and having feelings for him that would make her realize whatever there was with Ted has gone, but also facing the fact that just like Ted many years back she fell for someone else.

And that unlike Ted's brief fling, she has deeper feelings for Kiall.

And Kiall saying that he's there for her when she leaves the marriage. Which gives Carlton a chance to make his play.

And Ted and Carlton should become sworn enemies.

I'm guessing the Plasma Storyline is heading in that very direction. I believe the story is designed to facilitate a reconciliation of some sort between Ted & Beautiful Nicole, and some sort of pregnancy issue with Naomi and Jacob. That seems to be what all the foreshadowing points towards. The rest of the "plasma talk" almost seems like intentional debris to muddy the waters of where they're actually heading.

Leslie and Derek's constant back and forth gives vibes that they might end up sleeping together. Nothing says soap like characters who are at each other's throats sleeping together.

It's not like this soap likes to dare that much...

I'm tired of Leslie. She's a completely different character than she was initially. And that's because they decided not to reign in Trisha's acting choices. I'm sorry but it's too much. She's the show's Phyllis.

Naughty Nicole is pathetic, been saying that from he start - glad it's dawning on most. She's right to enjoy the moment until it lasts, give her 10 years and unfortunately men will find women that age invisible.

Judging by next week's preview, there's still a lot of conversations and talking... nothing happens. Oh Jacob and Smitty have a heated phone call. Interesting.

Nicole has really annoyed me with Kial and Carlton. She’s literally pitting them against each other and then gets made when they compete for her? How does that make any sort of sense at all.

After watching the show daily the first six months, I'm only drifting in and out now. I like a lot of the characters and actors, and some of the individual scenes. But, the show as a whole, just feels low energy to me as if nothing of any real importance or urgency has happened in so long. Honestly, some days I'll start an episode, but I don't even finish it. I keep waiting for something, anything to really happen.

I so want this show to succeed, and it clearly has its fans, but I feel like I can skip weeks at a time and nothing has really happened.

Anita's cancer has been well-written, but it can't be the whole show.

Nothing seems to really happen in the Leslie/Eva story anymore and Kat treating Eva like dirt has just gotten old.

I don't really care who Nicole dates.

I got excited when we first heard of Hayley's true plans and intentions, but nothing besides tea drinking has happened in so long.

Whatever is happening at the hospital I don't really care.

It's hard to like Joey and Vanessa as characters as neither is sympathetic.

There's no against the odds couple I'm rooting for. I felt that for Dani and Andre early on, but now they're married.

Is it just me that feels this way? I keep turning back in to see if it can catch my attention, but it just doesn't. And, I SOOOO want to!

So I used to actually watch the show live every day while I was working and now I choose to watch GH live now and get caught up on BTG whenever. I still enjoy the show but it truly does feel like absolutely nothing is happening a lot of days.

They built up Winterfest like it was going to be these epic situation and literally it was just a nice party where Vanessa got drunk and cried because Joey didn’t show up.

Speaking of Joey, I’m so sick of him being the smartest person that ever lived. His hands are literally in everything and it’s still boring. And the casino set is one of the worst sets I’ve ever seen.

Deonna came in with so much fire so naturally she’s gone until god knows when.

We have to Keep hearing about this damn cotillion for 2 more months where I guarantee nothing Major will happen and if it’s anything like this clinic they spent all these months on, it’s going to happen offscreen.

Don’t get me wrong I still enjoy the show but it’s no longer appointment viewing for me.

I've had a lot of similar feelings, and I so, so want to love this show! I wonder what the thought process is to having such little drama and such few twists and turns on this show is about.

Sometimes it feels as if BTG goes out of its way to avoid dramatic storytelling just as Y&R seems to be going out of its way of having any leads under the age of 50.

I, too, watch GH every day now. It's not perfect, but the stories all feel like they move and stuff is happening.

Watching the soap reminds me of when I was in college and writing short stories & episodic screenplays where the professor would tell me 'You have strong scenes, but little action'.

I truly feel once Guza jumped ship, the pacing and action declined. I can safely say that is a big difference since he's been gone for 100 episodes.

Here is the evidence:

Joey/Vanessa/Doug - For the first 150 episodes, you had Joey basically using both Vanessa and Doug's addictions to get them under his thumb. You liked Joey/Vanessa in scenes together, you also liked Doug/Vanessa in scenes together, and the stakes were high. Once Doug was killed off, we met Donnell .. a Donnell that was determined to find out what happened to his father and not being keen on Joey. Since then, Donnell has come and gone with him accepting Joey with his sister Deanna coming in for two episodes and now gone?

Eva/Tomas/Kat - Classic triangle with two half-sisters that don't like one another, A working class guy working to climb the ladder going for the socially acceptable sister while having a good rapport/connection with the other sister. You play out the beats and right after the guy and the working class sister hook up... the triangle is killed off. Tomas/Kat are a couple while Eva was spun off into another relationship with no stakes.

Nicole/Ted/SPS - The first 60 episodes built up to the bombshell of Ted having an affair with SPS in the past and having a daughter together. The sudden recasting of Ted sort of derailed the story, but the show insisted on playing out this story for a bit before finally breaking them up.. and both Ted/Nicole are in new situations with little to no stakes with SPS just being a thorn.

Hayley - For a 150 episode, there was a thread that we finally got to see where it led on episodes 150/151 where things that didn't make sense suddenly made sense, the random comments from Derek, Ashley, Jacob, Dani, Naomi.. where it sounded as if she was a new arrival vs someone that knew the family for years (i.e. Ashley). And the pregnancy/miscarriage drama was interesting.. it was almost like playing detective and/or putting puzzle pieces together. However, after we got the full picture... the story seems to have stalled though the arrival of Lynette is promising.

One big improvement:

Derek/Ashley - Breaking them up has done wonders for both characters.. moreso for Derek than Ashley. Ashley is mixing it up with the hospital crew and having good chemistry with a new guy, whose kind of shady. Derek has mixed it up with SPS (he pushes her buttons so much), Eva, Vanessa, and Naomi more than before.

However, as others have said, there is a lot of talking and little action.

Yes, yes, yes! Why did they do that?

They still need to recast Tomas but I think the ladies could have carried it. This storyline had TONS of potential and it just...DIED. After pushing Derek/Ashley/Andre on the audience for almost a year when no one wanted them, why they did this, I have no idea.

I was hopeful the pairing of Eva and Izaiah would be great, but...yawn.

That's it. No stakes. That's the problem with a lot of the storylines.

I agree with this as well. It just goes to show how debilitating a poor pairing can be to a soap. Derek is way, way more palatable since they separated him from Ashley. I literally used to cringe when he came on screen, now I am actually interested in what's happening to him. I still don't like Ashley, but she's more of a side character than the third side of a major love triangle, so she's also more bearable.

I also think the cancer storyline is being done very well. It shows how when you give them strong material, the actors will meet the moment. But, as been said, the show can't be all about that.

These different perspectives are quite interesting. I feel the total opposite. Although, BTG has nothing really major going on, I pay close attention to everything, whereas GH, I FF most of the time. It seems like the same storyline over and over and they never move along.

I think BTG is trying not to use the same old soap tropes, but inserting one or two here and there might be a bad idea.

I haven't had time to share my thoughts... and I'm so behind on all discussions... that I just feel kinda lost where to join them... since I'm 10 episodes behind. But I want to say that in my opinion... the show has never been better . Maybe I'm in the unpopular opinion camp. I respect you guys opinions about what you like and dislike. I like that it's calm and I'm feeling the slow burn and the characters developing. I DID NOT LIKE the headline of the week type of storytelling they did in the beginning... to me it cheapened the entire show. Now it has a more authentic atmosphere. It's almost like I'm watching a show from the past. It has more class and dept. One huge negative is the mob angle - it's completely irrelevant and NOT needed on this show. But other than that... I love it and watch it as much as I can. I have close to 10 episodes to catch up to you guys. I don't know if I'll even be able to catch up so I can comment on what is happening right now. Maybe that's why I loved @Errol 's idea of making a different forum for each soap. Because not everyone is at the same place at the same time... some people are behind... and more discussions could be started simultaneously without everything being in the same place.

I also have struggled to push through episodes since the new season. I fell behind at one point, not because of disinterest but as episodes piled up I found myself with no desire to really get through or watch more than one to catch up. Eventually, I did and I have enjoyed it for the most part, but lately I will literally stop half way through an episode and come back later to finish it or I will keep checking the time to see how many minutes are left. It can really drag and as you mentioned, it feels like nothing is happening.

I also agree with your point of avoiding drama. I have mentioned something similar before. It feels like there is no urgency or stakes. Everything just feels muted and I wondered if they didn't want to play into the melodramatics of soap operas or if the writing is lacking.

I have to also add, Eva and Leslie were originally my favorite characters and actors on the show and I just don’t know what we’re even doing with either one of them anymore. Leslie is just an annoying cartoon, and I’ve actually been watching another show with TMG so I know she doesn’t have to play a clown, but that’s exactly what Leslie is now. I had some hope first when she started being menacing as hell to Laura once she Laura popped back up whenever she was around her and then the breakdown on Valentine’s Day. But neither thread has gone anywhere.

The Tomas actor completely killed the triangle for me but at least it was ten times more exciting than Isaiah and Eva. I thought maybe we’d get a second triangle with Eva/Kat/Isaiah but Isaiah clearly finds Kat annoying so no go there.

I want so much better for the two characters that when they did the special before the show started, I was instantly drawn to.

With that being said, I agree with what you said above. Some people rave about GH's sets. I think they look bland and completely too industrial looking lacking warmth, except for one or two.

OTOH, horrible storylines and just unwatchable for me, but I will give B&B their props. Beautiful colorful warm sets.

Yeah the GH sets from the 90s and 2000s were awesome. I guess B&B can't slack due to the premise of the show, being located in Los Angeles and it's all about fashion.

Are you serious with this? I don't even know where to begin 😂 😆

Yeah I'm serious. Rich people (or people married to rich people) have no excuse for living in blank spaces.
