original release date: Friday, February 27, 2026 | writers: Naalie Minardi Slater, Jazmen Darnell Brown | director: Steven Williford

Thoughts:

  • For once, I am on Dana's side. Take down the self-centred, spoilt bitch and put her into the place where she belongs since no one else has the hutzpah to do it themselves.

  • Hello, Dr Monica McCormack! You look professional and fun at the same time. I hope you do make more appearances in the coming months.

  • Looks like Nicole is having some conflicting feelings and that feels beyond natural, especially after as long a marriage as she had with Ted. And she loves them both? Love?!

  • I hope that Dana's feelings towards Izaiah and his relationship with Eva are genuine and real for them and not in some kind of pull for her attempts to lure Elon into her cobweb.

  • Ugh. She needs to shut the fück up. Her overdramatic reaction(s) and inability to not see beyond her own need for attention, etc., are gross and off-putting.

  • Ted continuing to have no time for Dana gives me the giggles. I love it. Was he down that bad back in the day that he was willing to sleep with her? No one less... psychotic around?

  • Looks like Eva's conscience is beginning to kick back in regarding Dana's involvement in Laura's accident. Come on, Eva, finally do the right thing and let someone know what happened.

  • Chelsea has some nerve? CHELSEA HAS SOME NERVE? If Dana needs someone else to run off the road, I know the exact person she can aim for and succeed with this time.

  • Yes, Nicole, show Dana exactly who she is messing with. We love to see it. The claws are coming out!

  • Poor Vanessa looks like she would rather walk back out of Uptown than deal with her client. And I do not blame her. At all.

Notes:

  • Yes! It is a Slater day and she is paired with Brown. Yes. Yes. Yes. This is a WIN!

  • Oh my God. What the Hell happened to production? The post-production for today's episode is cold as Hell. I wonder if it was a one-off error. At least I hope it was, because this visually looks bad.

  • The coffee shop set has a place called 'A Place to Wine'. I would not mind seeing that at some point this year.

I'm getting tired of both Leslie and Kat. Leslie used to be fun but now she's become annoying with the same over-the-top antics day after day. Kat is just written in such a spoiled brat way that I can't root for her even though I understand why she hates Leslie/Eva. At some point, you just have to move on and let it go. You can still hate them and not trust them, but stop putting yourself in their business. Just walk away.

The Smitty/Naomi scenes today. I appreciate the moments to show how the undercover work of Jacob will effect Naomi, especially if Smitty was in on it and kept secrets too.

I was pretty meh on today's episode overall.

I saw a post on social media showing a picture of Kat and a picture of Anastasia, saying she is Kat in 20 years. I thought that was LOL because I see it.

I remember a scene where Anita briefly talked with Eva and didn't hold SPS/Leslie being her mother against her.. and she had a look of compassion. It also told me that she remembers being from the 'wrong side of the tracks' and views Eva differently than her elitist daughter (Dani) and grand-daughter do (Kat).

Seeing Kat reminds me of the movie 'The First Wives Club' where the three women turn against one another and become the very thing that they're fighting against. I'm seeing Kat is making herself look like the bad guy while Eva is looking innocent in comparison. Kat... don't be a Tamra Judge, just give SPS/Leslie & Eva enough rope to hang themselves.

Kat was so over the top nasty to Chelsea and it's not even possible to root for this character anymore.

Speaking of nasty, Kat comes by it easily because Nicole was pretty rude to Ted when he asked about Anita. Even if Ted is divorced from Nicole, Anita is still his children's grandmother and he's not wrong for not wanting to be kept in the loop. But I think Nicole's anger is more about the fact that Ted is moving on and not begging her for another chance.

Iona Morris is a good casting choice. One of those actors that is not a huge name but is recognizable from decades of guest spots on shows.

-- This was not a good week.

-- We got too many scenes with characters trying to one-up each other with snark and insults, and after awhile, it's boring when it goes nowhere but to the next scene with two more characters in attack mode.

-- Eva has been at Orphey Gene's for 3 episodes in a row while other characters -- especially her mother -- are all over the damn place.

-- Did I miss the announcement that Orphey Gene's has a liquor license? I don't remember characters getting alcohol there.

-- I don't know what writers are doing to Kat. They have her in manic mode and spinning out over everything. Leslie is even worse. She's become a cartoon, and this was her worst week since the show premiered.

-- The one-year callbacks are fun and they're fine. The only way any of it works, though, is if any of the callbacks go somewhere and propel the plot. If the Laura story again goes nowhere, it's a fail.

-- Is it really sweeps month?

Has anyone else noticed -- part of the Coffee Shop back wall looks like a log-cabin??. What the heck? Where is this place supposed to be? I've thought it is probably in a food-court of some kind. But after seeing the log-cabin wall for a few days, it makes me reevaluate that assumption. Would there be a business of any kind near DC that has a wall made from visible logs?

Today was so much filler. I kept looking at the time. The same superficial conversations, over and over. Events that are only talked about, taking place off-screen. I know it didn't take place on today's episode but, this blood plasma story, for example, is so poorly done (Jacob plying his trade, while supposedly undercover but in a place where his brother can casually run up on him on the way for lunch?? 🫤🙄).

Question: Do today's daytime soaps know how to write an episode that actually has a genuine Friday cliffhanger anymore? Something that actually makes a viewer want to tune in on Monday, besides the preview for next week with the hope of something interesting?

And this show has some serious continuity problems too.

I was more shocked to see they had a smashburger there which seems to conflict with what Orpheny Gene's seems to be in terms of soul food. Though that price was right. I don't think I've seen a cheap smashburger.

Same.

Speaking of today's episode...two things can be true.

TeamKat against the Cartoon and the Spawn which she has every right to be. But her taking it out on Chels is where I had an issue and wanted her to STFU.

I agree about the price of a smash burger not being inexpensive, but that OG price seemed high for the type of establishment it's supposed to be. I mean, they're pretty high.

And I still think showing Eva and Izaiah drinking beer was weird. That makes no sense.

When you've got a character like Leslie, it's best to use that character sparingly. Or else she becomes a complete annoyance to the viewer. Today's episode exemplified that.

Also when you've got a rather spoiled and entitled ingenue (such as Y&R's Lauren Fenmore in the 1980s or BTG's Kat Richardson in 2026), you wanna tone her DOWN from time to time so she doesn't become as tiresome to the audience as she becomes to her enemies on the show. Today's show exemplified that.

Come out here to Cali. ;P That is not high at all. :) I was as shocked to see it as you were that Eva and Izaiah were drinking beer there. I expected them to head to Uptown.

I see what you did there. ;)

But let's be real. SPS has been like THIS for THREE DAYS STRAIGHT. THREE DAYS.

I've officially turned on her and need her in jail. Dare I hope that the writers pick up the Kat/Joey thread and she gets her hands on his blackmail material so she can nail SPS to the wall?
