Well that's fine. Perhaps she and Spin will just recur. Or she will pop in for arcs. Kinda like how Kristen on DAYS started off as when they recast with Stacy Haiduk.

Them wrapping up the Nathan /Maxie story in one day 🙄 This show really tries hard some times to have as little drama as possible. This just shows that they could care less about any of the characters involved; they are not invested in them at all.

I could care less about these characters too. I don't know why they ever brought Nathan back and for me Maxie was played out decades ago. But by them going with this, what drama is there left to do now? Will that be better than or more soapy than having Maxie act like a normal person and take some time with her decision?

Maxie making this decision right after being reunited with Nathan is absolutely insane. This should have taken much longer to figure out. They have bungled this story from the beginning, and I say this as someone who liked the idea of Nathan coming back to his old life while Maxie was in a coma.

First, Nathan should have been the one who Maxie woke up to. It would have been awesome to see her wake up and think she was dead and in heaven.

Second, if Maxie/Spinelli was the endgame, then she should have started out by choosing Nathan. She could have attributed it to an unwillingness to dismiss the importance of marriage vows after what happened with Lucky. BTW, we are overdue for a scene in which Maxie gives a heartfelt apology to Elizabeth. That part can still happen.

Right now, I am having flashbacks to early 2003 when Dena Higley first took over at Days of our Lives. She quickly reunited Jack and Jen, got them remarried way too soon (in an absolutely terrible wedding), and removed all conflict from their story. After that, she was done with them. They were mostly off the air for next few months, getting about one airdate a month in fluff scenes. It probably won't be that bad for Maxie/Spinelli, because the writers don't hate KS and BA the way that many of TPTB at DAYS had long despised Matthew Ashford. But it doesn't seem like there is going to be a big story for them.

It sounds like I'm going to wind up reading them when I get to this week.

I honestly wonder if Frank just really wanted Paevey back (on top of them already resurrecting Britt which necessitated Obrecht, another longtime fave) and didn't know Kirsten was gonna go AWOL again.

Even then, Spixie was always more popular.

Whether he did or not...sounds like he took a story that was not rushed, but stalled, turned it into a B&B storyline (as in rushed it and thus giving a viewer whiplash), and now the actor it was done for might as well be as DOA as his on screen sister.
