I personally wasn't impressed with DG as Peter, but, hey, it's only been one day. The vibe felt off to me. There was something hotly sinister about Peter even when he was "good". I know DG can pull off a darker edge, but it all felt too suburban dad next door yesterday.

I actually thought DG was surprisingly smarmy and sinister. It reminded me of his early Kevin Buchanan at OLTL, where Michael Malone wisely leaned into the mess JFP and others had made of the character (a philandering manwhore sleeping through multiple women in the same family) by having Kevin return to town a schmoozing politician out to bed his wife's last relative.

There was a darker edge to it here for me based on the situation and who Peter was, and also someting in his eyes. It's giving Scott Peterson. But I could be projecting wildly based on the DiMera background, esp as Peter may well be some sort of red herirng.

The scene with Peter and Theo before the reveal was lame.😂

So, all the Dimera captives finally appeared in the same scene today 😂

I'm glad that finally happened, and I'm sure that it was a budget issue, but it would've been nice to have more scenes involving every person trapped in the crypt before the story reached its climax, instead of just giving us the "they're sleeping" excuse. But at the same time, I'm also glad that this finally ending. And that I was right about Peter. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens with Peter in the aftermath of all of this. He also brought up a lot of good points about EJ, Stefano and the Dimera family as a whole. Points that could be used to drive future story, IMO.

And I wonder if Chad revealing that he still hasn't forgiven EJ for everything that happened with Abigail was meant to be foreshadowing of something.

Brady was douchy again in the beginning, but I enjoyed his scenes with Belle and Marlena. He brought up a lot of good points today with both of them. I liked that Belle reminding him of what John would have wanted one of the things that led to Brady going to see Marlena. And now Brady knows the truth about Kristen and has forgiven Marlena, I'm interested in seeing what happens. Luckily, it doesn't look like Brady is going to forgive Kristen for all of this lol the ship has still sailed for them. And I'm also very happy that even though he did forgive Marlena, he still said that it was time for him to get his own place to live. Btw, if Brady saying that there's a skeleton crew running Bayview right now was just meant to be a way to justify that ridiculous Sophia sneaking out episode, it's definitely not going to work.

Tate and Holly were a little boring though. I figured that Holly wouldn't have had a problem with him being on academic probation or that he couldn't go to Paris with her. But Tate did look hot at the end. He was looking more natural too 😍😂😂

The cliffhanger ending, with Theo and with Peter was really good though.

Please let Theo die! He’s annoying. Cannot stand the actor. The rest of the show: Cwikly and Ford are not a good fit for Days.

Doug III suuuucked. I haven’t seen an actor that lifeless in years until Tomas on beyond the gates decided to give him a run for his money.

Today was a bit of a misfire. The dialogue was a little lousy too.

And there was too much Javi and Leo. He was so stupid today that I was totally Team Cat 😂

Between Javi and Leo, Gwen and Gabi suddenly becoming drunken bff's, the poor dialogue and all the historical references, I'm assuming that today was a Jamey episode. And I seriously cannot wait until we never see this bum's work on Days ever again 🤮🤮🤮

Surprisingly, the crypt stuff was the best part of today. Peter's reasons for why he's doing what he's doing were actually a surprise to me as well. I think it makes sense based on everything that's happened over the years. And I'm glad that we didn't get the same old cliche of a random Dimera relative popping up out of nowhere to take over everything. I thought that Dan Gauthier did a good job as well. And even though I still think Kristen is played out, so did Stacy Haiduk. But I do have to admit, it still feels a little odd hearing Kristen talk about her past, and not have Eileen Davidson be playing her.

Yeah, I admit he did seem bored sometimes. But he was nice to look at 😂

And I really think he came alive in that episode where Doug III and Tate argued and Tate hit him. And from a character perspective, at this point, I'd rather Doug III possibly cause problems for Tate and Holly than a psycho Sophia.

Honestly, if the show is willing to keep Rachel Boyd as Sophia around, I don't see a reason to ditch the actor/the character of Doug III. He wasn't amazing, but I would have given him more of a chance at least to play out the Holly story.

What is the show like now with Ron Carlivati long gone from the show?

Better? Worse? Different but the same? Etc

I’m likely taking on more soaps next year and want seeing the lay of the land.

It definitely would’ve been a better story for the younger crowd.

Despite the acting, Doug III was almost the type of complex character that you don’t really see on soaps anymore; the bad boy with the heart of gold, often giving in to his impulses or not being able to control them, which in turn, drives conflict for all the characters around him.

I liked what he did get to see but the storyline could have played out for so much longer or led into something really good. It’s too bad the new team didn’t like him all that much.

It’s definitely better, even though the new team has made some strange choices, or the flat out wrong choice, like writing out the character of Doug III, for example. Or giving some characters backstories that ultimately lead to nothing. And there are some things that are still very Ron-like, but I think that’s mostly due to Jamey Giddens, who’s literally just Ron at his absolute worst times 10.

But there’s a lot more heart in the show now. It feels more like Days again, not some cruel, toxic, reality show ripoff.
