Yeah, but you know how soaps work, right, lol?  You could always explain that away.

Very. Just look at the current Nathan story.

If I’ve learned anything with modern day soaps, if the writer brings back a 30-40+ year ago character, they’re going to die pretty quickly.

Who shot Drew? Who is Ronnie, is it all a fake? What is Britt Hiding? Is this really Nathan?

I still think it's Willow. Cuz they can't seriously have her go back to being normal...right?

Ronnie...so far...I'm not sure. Though it does sound like I'm going to be very annoyed in the next set of episodes I watch.

I do like that Spin and Jason (kinda) has called Britt out on that. When is she going to answer what is going on. RIght now the only secret it seems clear she knows is who Nathan really is.

And no.

The miscalculation with Britt seems to be noticeable to lots of folks this time. Usually only here at SON do I really see anyone that dislikes her. But this time the Rocco stuff and her attitude seem to be annoying the vocal part of the audience online elsewhere too. And if she is supposed to be back so Jason can have a pairing they are butchering that.

Yeah, good start to her return IMHO, but now she's just...well...a cartoon that needs propping which is a soap no-no. And while I like the character...she ain't Sonny/Carly level of importance if I was to be objective to be needing this much prop.

Now how is Diane Jenkins in this conversation? 😜

This is one that perplexes me as Frank knew Kristen wouldn't be available. I'd say this was the only time Ryan Paevey was available but he doesn't seem to be doing much in recent years. If we find out he's not really Nathan, as seems inevitable, it won't hit the same without his wife being there to react.

Same.

Imagine how on fire the show would be if it was AJ returning instead of who cares Nathan.

Probably the only way Frank would ever be interested in AJ is if he could pull off having Michael Easton play him.

Both true.

I really loved that. Tracy’s relationships with Cody and Stella are some of my favorites but they rarely get played these days.

And they worked so hard to establish both. Which is a shame.

If McKenna isn't written out maybe they will pair him with Anna.

Well...the chemistry was there. Before and post recast.

They should have the steam room made into a permanent set and have a rotation of the cutie dudes bumping into each other there and having long conversations.

It is rotated when it is called for. Sets is the one problem this soap does not have.

Wow, Spinelli has come a long way (for me) after all these years. Those were great scenes with Jason. I'm curious to know where Maxie is and what happens with her now that Nathan is back. I'm guessing she'll be back soon since they're talking so much about her today.

I still don't remember Lois having this Fran Drescher accent back in the 90s, but that was long ago and I was a teen, so maybe I'm misremembering.

Now I see why fans hate Drew haha, he was in villain mode today with those kids (although I don't know the full backstory).  Was that Jake with Danny at the end?   Laura said her grandson, which would be Jake right (through Lucky/Elizabeth)? But they're brothers because of Jason... I really need a family tree LOL.

It was there. But back then Rena was used more in light stories. Labine described her and Ned as romantic comedy, and that’s true for the most part. Compared to the rest of the show at the time, you really had Lucy providing one kind of comedy, and Ned/Lois another. Now Lois is more involved in drama and not the joyful character she used to embody. So I think the accent sticks out more.

I definitely remember Lois/Ned bringing that vibe... this makes sense, thanks! :)
