And again, as I said -- although I dislike some of Jamey's writing preferences, I still support the guy.  I will never bash Jamey.

Were you a Daytime Confidential stan, too? I loved that podcast and site when Jamey was there (sorry Errol, I just discovered you). I think his favorite show to watch as a kid was Days, so I'm surprised he messed up there, unless he injected some Reilly back into it. He is similar to me in age and I think he enjoyed that era of the show specifically. As for Jamey and RC (loved his OLTL and GH) on BTG, i think they toned down what they were doing and have done a great job. Only Leslie and Dani seem campy to me, but they are both balanced with pathos and their characters are better for it.

Confirmed! Elon has three sons. Izaiah isnt a rewrite name as some suspected

I saw. Which I've said all along. Though given how I worded my previous post...to be clear...I was not the one saying it was a rewrite.

Since I have hoped and theorized that the second major family would either be the Hawthornes since the first time we saw the Elon/Anita scene OR a family for SPS through Dante Green, I was happy at the news of Izaiah.

Interesting Halloween episode with Nicole/Vernon hanging out... I wonder if TT wasn't available to film so instead of an Anita/Vernon scene.. it was a father/daughter scene.

Samantha trying to manipulate 'granny' Nicole with that whole patriarchy BS made me roll my eyes... but good on Nicole for being smart enough not to fall for it.

The Derek/Ashley scenes were filler except for that one brief statement from Andre where he basically said unless Derek takes a very dark turn into villain territory.. nothing would change if his marriage to Dani doesn't work out.  @Taoboithe Kristen Dimera/Billie Reed turn is coming along nicely for our Derek.

Wanda would've made a great Peaches.

The Peaches casting continues to bewilder me. But this is the same team that continues to employ the Tomas actor.

I loved today's episode. And yesterday's while I'm thinking of it *cough*danivanessa*cough. It really makes me wonder how aware Production was that this would be airing Halloween week. And that I love.

Samantha can shut up. Moreso now that we know June was right about Nathan. That said...Ty and Jessica were so cute and adorable with the matching chess costumes. Since I'm not getting young couple cuteness from Emma and Gio at the moment over on GH, I loved we got it with them. I'm a fan. Don't hate me. :) But I love the whole family unit.

I really love the Nicole/Vernon scenes with special guest SPS Febreeze. ;) We don't get them often and the horror fan in me was loving all the references.

I have so much mixed feelings about the Ted/SPS scene. First of all...ugh told you...straight man to her crazy. And I can't believe he would even let her anywhere close to him. That said...I also liked the talk at the same time. That was the MOST mature she has ever been with him. NOW if she was like THAT, I could believe she could organically get Ted back. Okay, I can still believe SPS can with her shenanigans, but I liked that talk and the friend attempt even if at the same time it's ridiculous.

And yes @Soaplovers, I totally rewind when Andre said that. But Derek is clearly in 'hide the truth' mode...he sat back down quick when he heard Ashley's voice. And then Ashley not helping her case by turning into Neurotic Ashley (ugh) when Derek was trying to set the date is only going to fuel his insecurity, making him hide his secret even more. Add on what just happened with Naomi/Jacob, Derek will feel justified to keep it. So giving 90s Kristen/Billie. I am really liking it as a solid C plot.

Oh...and Samantha vs her parents has a solid C plot as well. And now Kat's about to get a stray. hehe. Well, we are due another Martin/Kat scene this week.

Awwwwwww Tyrell.

He's such a nerd, but I like him. And I really liked him standing up for Samantha today. He and Jessica were sweet too. Although those scenes were a little cliche, I didn't mind it. Teens, in any generation, are hard to write for. But I'm curious to see what's going to happen now, for all the teens.

Same. Cliche for sure, but it's so hard to find adorable teens on soaps these days that I don't mind it.

You can add me to the group who like Vanessa.

She's highly watchable...whether she was with Doug, playing mindgames/power moves with Joey, or just having a ki-ki with Dani 'LONGLEGS!!'. And whether I feel for her or just want to shake her, I definitely feel invested in her. She (along with Doug and Joey) did have the most well paced of the B stories on this show from 'go!'

And we still haven't even scratched the surface with her. And the actress most definitely is a find.

I think his breakdowns for BTG have been great.

So have I. I was worried about Jamey due to what I've read around here, but outside of maybe his second breakdown...which was still good...I have liked his stuff so far and find it highly entertaining.

PS. I will keep that in mind about Danielle and Jazmen. ;)

Danielle Paige's scripts feel so warm and P&G like to me. Everytime I see her name in the credits it reminds me of ATWT or GL at their best. I don't know if it's from her experience on GL or her books or both but she does romance and family scenes so well. Jazmen, on the other hand, gives a modern and youthful feel to his episodes and lots of Black cultural references. They don't always land but I love that he consistently tries.

Danielle was on a few of the Locher Room interviews, and she said Claire Labine mentored her and that her first assignment was writing the filler scene (i.e. anytime a script needed an extra scene to fill time).. so she would write a friendship scene and/or a family scene.

I'm currently reading BLOOD AT THE ROOT and I totally see that. LaDarrion Williams is doing the same. I love it with Jazmen, but I know it can be very hit or miss with some.

See? Now you are making me want to study her episodes when I watch them next. I bet she's responsible for some of the family scenes I've been loving then. :)

I agree; both Jazmen Darnell Brown and Danielle Paige are the best scriptwriters this soap has, and it makes me so happy Brown is not exiting as originally speculated.

Countdown to Tyrell being the one "shooting up the club" with Jessica resulting in the clichéd "oops" moment when she announces that she's pregnant. I mean, it's the "payback" for Martin and Smitty "watchdogging" and grounding Samantha who at least had a condom in her presence.

I love when people make up their own stories about what the show is going to do so they can insult something that hasn’t even happened.
