It reminds me of Loving and its many attempts to re-center around Alden University(?). Except here BTG has a strong core, and it's just smart to maybe introduce the Banneker end of the canvas.

Expanding into the University means a new setting and some extra sets (hopefully) which is a good thing because are we getting a little bored with seeing the same backgrounds?

Hopefully Deanna will be included and the youngsters can be more anchored.

Will Donell become involved with Samantha ? Makes more sense than random dayplayer boyfriends she wants get freaky with.

And it will give more depth to Vanessa beyond lady mobster.

As for Nicole (and others) I still think that seeing them in professional situations would add depth.

Imagine if Nicole had a patient whose situation mirrored her own? The feedback she gives could give her perspective on her own situation.

I know we are tough on AA but watching him 'emote' is awkward. His body language consists pretty much of moving his hands once in a while. Compare that to say Timon, who uses facial expressions and body movements to inhabit the character, even when he is background. Are directors/producers giving any sort of feedback?

Well that would explain those extra sets we have yet to see, but we have all discussed existed. I guess we know why now.

I honestly don't want Donnell with Old Sammy. The character is younger than Donnell despite Sam being 35, and I'd just rather see them invest in new talent and maybe write one or both of Martin and Smitty's kids out for awhile.

lol. It took me a moment to realize who Sam was.

 

I feel like they are going to bring in mostly new people for those sets so I don't know how that will work with the young'uns we already have. Yeah, we have Ty and Sam, but I do wonder if they will tie...say Chels and Kat...even Eva...into that set since they are still young, but above college age at least?

Completely pointless character to introduce. Dani’s best friend that is literally never around. Vanessa as already shown is perfectly capable of being besties with both sisters.

I wanted more of them all the way dating back to the wedding episodes. It may have taken 6 months or so but I’m happy it seems to be a regularly appearing friendship now that Haley desperately needed. Now we need to learn her Randy connection but as the show has proven time and time again, this will definitely be picked back up on. I’ve learned to not even worry about things being completely dropped with this show, as they’ve circled back to practically everything including Dani’s reliance on alcohol today.

I can understand this but I also don't see how he can do anything worthwhile appearing once every few months. It baffles me when you look at the male cast and the areas of opportunity and they take a seasoned, well liked primetime actor and give him a dayplayer role. I can't even understand why he would take such a small role. He's less prominent and developed than characters like Mona and Jan, so it's hard to become invested in anything he has going on with Nicole.

We really need to see him and Nicole conversing and hanging out outside of scenes just to make Ted jealous. Like can we get some insight as to why it was so easy for him to betray Ted?

These last few eps have been pretty strong. I should check the dialogue writing credits again lol. I loved Andre calling Nicole on the dynamic between her and Dani, and Dani having it out with Anita.

I'm honestly more interested in Caroline and maybe some family for her vs. Hayley and the inevitable Randy thing.

Nicole did once tell Carlton he could always make her laugh, so maybe they had some sort of tryst. But my sense is that Carlton is a fake friend that secretly wanted what Ted has and really hates him. That would be a classic soap plot.

Yeah, I love, love, love they have really started to maintain Hayley/Caroline even when Caroline isn't physically in the episode. I guess we have gotten to the episodes where they got some feedback perhaps?

 

I think they are taking too long with Randy/Hayley and could be doing better maintaining that plot thread since the baby lie is THE current A story. Which probably explains today's ending as well as Hayley's growing insecurity and need for more of Caroline to show Kristen Dimera...I mean Hayley's POV.   

 

Same. Though with the Dani drinking thing, unless most of their plot threads, I honestly thought it was dropped...which would make it the actual first dropped plot thread. Cuz there have been several times before the Vegas wedding that Dani has been with cocktail. So I assumed. So given how many people have asked and how many times I've said that...you know I had to mention it was FINALLY brought back up.  But yeah, this show always circles back around. It's why I know Laura and the accident will pop up again as well as that little conversation Smitty/Marcel having a hint that Kenny will probably come up again.

Vanessa vs Pamela won’t work because Pamela literally disappears for weeks and weeks at a time. Dani’s child was kidnapped and this heffer hasn’t popped up once or even been mentioned. Let alone this modeling business they were in the middle of starting up.

See? And I can see Vanessa getting on Pamela about that just like she got on Pamela (for no reason mind you) when Diego kissed her to make Vanessa. And then...we are off to the races.

Apparently Cady looked to be filming in the studio per her instagram.. but I do agree that Pamela has been a miss because of the lack of airtime and playing a character that acts and talks as though she came from 1920s upper crust New England with a Transatlantic accent.

Dani's drinking is the one plotline that I can accept when it's 'dropped' and then bought up because in real life.. people grapple with issues with alcohol for years.  While Dani doesn't drink daily, her problem is that she over-drinks to the point of black out.. which is more of a concern than if she had one or two drinks per day at night.   

Anita does talk to Dani like she's a teenager, but Dani does seem to act more like she's younger than her own daughters.  Chelsea and Naomi have more sense and maturity than Dani does.. and I hope that this dynamic is explored more.

And Donnel referring to Jan as 'Aunt Jan' checks out because she probably was more of a parental unit to him and his sister Deanna than either Doug or Vanessa were.  And I do wonder when sister Deanna will be showing up.. perhaps at Christmas?

And Derek's journey into being a grey character is continuing.. and I think this adjustment is also probably due to feedback.. and I wonder if it's a way to try to save Andre/Ashley.. which seems to be end game in MVJ's mind.

I still don't know if Hayley was faking the pregnancy because she did go to that doctor appointment after her 'miscarriage'.. and Bill went with her.   I have a feeling that it will come up again, but perhaps closer to the 'Season 1 finale'.
