I don't see this show having a Vegas drag queen swap places with Anita in some major imposter story lol. I can see it being a mistaken identity gag briefly during a holiday event or something, which is fine.

Yes, that could be okay.  As long as the confusion is brief -- like one scene.  But are you sure Jackie is a drag queen?  Of course it is implied that she might be.  But it wasn't mentioned during the wedding, and I don't believe Anita or Vernon have made any reference to her being a drag queen. If Jackie is not a drag queen, but a cis woman, then all bets are off!

Based on Tunie doing a deeper voice among other things, I'm pretty sure.

I always took female impersonator to mean Drag Queen

Well, I don't think she's been referred to in the scripts as a "female impersonator", but an Anita Williams impersonator. But I understand what you mean.

But in Vegas, most (if not all) Elvis impersonators are cis men.  So who knows??

So, Hayley & Randy are family??? Hayley is such a gold-digging opportunist and I hope she loses everything. I wonder if Doug knew Hayley??? Inquiring minds would like to know.

Was this turn by Hayley intended from Day One or do you think this might have been an adjustment based on reviewing stuff.

Hayley was sort of ill defined and maybe that was one of their options, waiting to see how things were playing out onscreen?

Surely MVJ and others are smart and experienced  enough to deviate from original plans if something more viable/interesting comes up.

From the very beginning!!! And every comment that Dani has made about her was some form of foreshadowing like a lot of the first month.

That said...HAHAHAHA!!!! FINALLY GET THE REVEAL BETWEEN RANDY AND HAYLEY!!!

And Bill HAS to have done something to them in the past. Or someone in their family.

That episode was great!!! And I know I missed some things so I'll try to rewatch later when I get a chance because there was so much to like. Dani/Bill/Hayley/Andre. Martin/Smitty getting back together. Vernon/Anita having a cute romantic moment. The Dani/Bill flashback! Joey continuing to cover his tracks. Loved everything about it.

I did think the sweet act was all an act, but I'm hoping she has an axe to grind against Bill and not the Duprees.

I feel it's toward Bill, but she fell for her mark.

she better not get a sanctimonious ol mama like Hannah

If news ever drops that she's joining the cast anytime soon as some unnamed character, let the speculations begin..........

MVJ said that they have a plan and are not just making it up as they go along which is indicative that this direction for Hayley was the intention all along.

She sure did and they've been leaving breadcrumbs all along.

I can believe it, but on this one I can also potentially believe they may have changed direction. Either is totally plausible, as the Randy inclusion in her story wasn't that long ago. Still, most of the other recent big twists I do think were baked in from the jump and in her original bible, so why not this?

What I'm trying to remember is if we know exactly when Hayley and Naomi met. Was it college or earlier (and how many years out of college are they)? Because if it was earlier and this is a scheme it would have to be a very, very long con.

This show has leveled up considerably in the last month, starting with the hostage crisis (however silly I found a fair amount of it) and the Vegas wedding - the scripts and character development over the last couple weeks have gotten much stronger for me, particularly the material surrounding Martin and Smitty and then Dani and Andre. The McBride story has obviously ramped up and Donnell is very strong (and I still am ten toes down for Vanessa/LB - I think she's one of the most layered characters on the show, however terribly flawed). They've managed to tentatively begin to salvage June and Ted by going full Agnes Nixon with an unlikely match of rich and poor. And now this. It's a lot of systemic improvement to start taking stock of, even if we're still dealing with The Tomas Zone dragging the two young female stars down.

Yep.

I mean...wasn't it mention how much Hayley was an orphan with no family and was taken in by the Duprees from the jump? Which made her betrayal with Bill really bad.
