Today must have been a Jamey episode. It was bad. 

Chanel and Javi just moved into new homes.  They have both been in less than stable relationships.  Their current relationships have only been solid for a few weeks.  

Why is everyone in Salem suggesting now is a good time to add a baby into the mix?

I mean, that poor baby's only been to the pub in it's whole life.  Maybe, it would be served by parents who have their own home and kitchen?

I've decided that the music on this show is the worst thing about it. Forget about the pieces that are just downright awful, but even when they are decent they're played through every single second, sometimes going completely against the scene. It's jarring, and makes the show come off even cheaper than it needs. Noel Maxam is our last hope in this department, but I don't have any faith things will change.

Chad and Cat’s scene today immediately comes to mind 

I find it odd and random that Javi just happened to mention he had a kid that died unless that was supposed to be some sort of foreshadowing of Tesoro's ultimate fate. 

-- Rachel's snake is such a pathetic and lame plot device that I have no words.

-- I'm not buying Javi and his paternal feelings at all. They've done a complete 180 on his character and the idea of him and Leo being parents makes me gag.

-- Chanel and Johnny aren't ready for kids either. Does Salem hand out babies like firefighters hand out candy at a parade?

-- Chad has been looking very good. I think he lost weight for the Y&R role, and that was a mistake.

-- That music used for Chad Telling Cat he cares about her made no sense. None. That was music to be used when someone visits the graveside of a loved one.

-- I hope we get another trip to miniature golf and that everyone in town shows up on the same day.

No follow up with Chad and Cat? That’s weird. Today should’ve picked up immediately from the end of yesterday. 

But it was move in day at Salem U. There were a lot of nice family moments lol especially with Marlena/Tate and Maggie/Holly. And Gabi/Ari too, even though I still think Will and Sonny should have been a part of the move.

Now that Holly/Ari and Tate/Aaron are going to be rooming together, I’m interested in seeing what happens next. It was nice to see the college kids actually acting like college kids. That hasn’t happened in a while on a soap. And I did expect both dorm rooms to be shoeboxes.

Tate did look hot at the end though 😍

And, Ari and Aaron met as well. I wonder how that’s gonna play out 😂😂

Xander’s therapy session with Marlena was ok, but I felt like something was missing from them. I expected a much more in depth understanding as to why Xander is the way that he is. The Victor excuse got a little tiresome as the episode went on. Xander telling Marlena the truth about Philip’s letter could lead to something interesting happening though.

The cliffhanger was also pretty good too.

What, we're getting dorm rooms? The show has truly gone crazy with spending!

Some fresh interactions today between Cat/Brady, Maggie/Gabi, Ari/and the only guy she's not related to, and even Xander/Marlena, the latter two I'm expecting much more from in the future. 

Going on a tangent about friendships, I was hoping for a small Gabi/Cat scene, where they agree to get a drink/night out to catch up. Both of them need a girlfriend, and they should have been written as such ever since the Vancouver adventure.

In fact, Belle needs a girlfriend, too, oddly enough. Stephanie has Jada and Sarah, but Jada and Sarah don't have any kind of friendship. On the male side, Alex has zero friends as well. And who the heck do Johnny and Chanel hang out with? It's all so disconnected, until the plot calls for it not to be. Of course, those are just a few instances, but you all get the point.

On another note, I would definitely be stunt re-casting the Greene's mother with a classic soap star. Someone born in the late 1950s/early-to-mid 1960s, someone we haven't seen for awhile, but I haven't decided who yet.

I wasn't suggesting that it be revealed that Diana is the Greenes' mother, I would've wanted GF to play Caterina.

-- They're repurposed shoeboxes. I get saving money, but what's up with that drab and awful paint color in both rooms?

Stories are out everywhere about how decorating dorm rooms is a real thing and a viral sensation, yet Salem U. looks like the rooms are out of The Grapes of Wrath.

-- Aaron is looking good, and the haircut was a great idea. More recent photos on his IG show him with longer hair, but the cut is good.
