NuTheo is a bit Mumbly McGee right now, but he's not awful and probably just confused by the characters backstory (he's autistic! and also...). I hope he'll settle in soon enough.

I thought Tyler Joseph Andrews more than sold Theo's complex emotions towards JJ today. They were the best scenes of the episode for me and made Theo one to watch. Fantastic find by the casting director.

JJ also getting that intense moment with Gabi makes me hope that 1) we will see him more frequently and 2) that him and Gabi are still not done, especially with Gabi's longing look towards him as JJ walked away from her. Also, shamelessly happy everytime we get a crotch shot of his badge in whatever tight jeans he's usually wearing.

Tony wanting Titan too made me annoyed. Let's not become boring Y&R with all these company merry-go-round dramas, please.

Does anyone remember when exactly Basic Black started? Was it under Cwikly's previous run? I do remember finding it completely laughable that Kirsten Storms' Belle wanted to be a fashion designer, because she was as fashionable as a glass of water. And then it all resulted in Bo and Hope being attacked at the Basic Black fashion show? They were Belle's designs right? And then all that chaos started off the infamous Salem Serial Killer plot. You'd think that would've been the end of the company then and there.

I guess we'll have to find out Monday if that was Michael Roark at Stephanie and Alex's door. If so, I'll be so disappointed if he isn't Jeremy Horton, especially with it confirmed that

Spoiler

Roark Critchlow is returning for a guest stint.

I’m with the consensus on the Jada and Theo material. It tracked that Theo could accept JJ as long as he stayed out of the force. They’d worked together, earned mutual respect, and then JJ comes back to Salem and slides right back into a cop’s badge. And he’s hired by a Black police commissioner, which only underscores the injustice. That’s a sharp idea for DAYS to play with.  --- Sidenote: If JJ has gone to "diversity" training, then shouldn't he be a bit more capable of talking with Theo directly?

Meanwhile, we got one of the strangest business negotiations in recent memory. Tony files a lawsuit, then gives the defendant 24 hours to sell him their company, or he’ll expose secrets he obtained illegally. Xander and Philip, (rather than calling their cousin Justin, an actual lawyer), offer to hand it over. No board of directors, no Maggie, no Mr. Shin, not even Bo in the mix (I understand leaving out Brady and Alex 😎). Just two dum-dums giving away their company. And the cherry on top? They sell it to Tony, the man who spent years trapped on Melaswen Island in a snare Alice Horton’s crew dismantled in a month.

I’m still thumbs down on the baby story, mainly because I’m not convinced the punishment fits the supposed “crime” (and yes, I know it was legal—I’m speaking metaphorically). In another frame, you could argue Sofia was sparing Tate (and Brady) the ongoing pain of knowing Baby Tesoro is in Salem. The same pain she feels every time she crosses paths with them in the square. That pain is only sharper because it could have been avoided if Johnny, Amy, Sarah, and everyone else she trusted hadn’t failed her by denying her the chance to make her own decision about carrying an unwanted pregnancy. With that context, it’s worth asking how superior Steve, Brady, and Tate should feel about manipulating a college freshman just to satisfy their own curiosity.

Finally, good news for Julie.  And bad news for all you neysayers, who doubted her investment in the bookstore.  Everyone in their world, has a hardcover copy of Stephanie's book.  Nobody in Salem reads on their Ipad, or listens to the audio copy.  They all bought the hardcover version of that book (that looks pretty slim, and easy to knock out in a month).  And, the mystery guy carries it everywhere he goes, even on a plane from overseas.

No way do they sell Titan with the whole John legacy chat. In court they could definitely keep Titan given Xander didn't know. Tony is getting evil edit. Weird we never see him and Anna together

I hope they reject Tony's offer too, and the case goes to court. That would be fun to see.

Plus, Days has gotta get their money's worth out of that courtroom set 😂😂

I've sometimes wondered if that's Tyler's way of playing autistic.

I think Basic Black was started under Tom Langan.

Bo and Hope getting attacked at the fashion show was Higley.

I like it, but I think they kinda missed the mark a little bit with this storyline.

Maybe it would've worked better if Sophia had lied about the baby in order to punish Tate because he had reunited with Holly. Or because he was preoccupied with her and Doug III

I'm not exactly some Days scholar these days, but I was watching back then and I don't think it was. IIRC the Bo/Hope attack was Reilly's first salvo upon his return. It was there to kick off the Salem Stalker saga. They hyped it up in the mags that way too.

I wasn't sure either, so I checked the dates lol

The fashion show was Higley's last week as solo head writer. Then she shared one week with JER, who then took over on his own.

I am sure some of her material was mixed in, but all I know is I remember the mags trumpeting that the assault on Bo and Hope at the BB fashion show was the kickoff of JER's big new umbrella storyline. Of course it's been almost 25 years so I could be wrong. We do know HWs often insert material before their name is officially on a show, too.

Bo and Hope getting bonked at the fashion show was definitely the start of the SSK storyline. It was probably technically a transition week, but that was absolutely JER’s big return. The entire episode was like a hard reset of the show.

It’s funny you mention the Basic Black fashion show when Bo and Hope got attacked because that’s actually the very first episode of Days of our Lives I ever remember watching.

Maybe Higley was promoted for those few months in order to ease the transition between Cwikly/Brash and JER.

There was definitely something weird there. The talk has always been that C&B's show was too expensive, and Higley pitched a bible that was way more affordable and producible, but she was out almost as soon as she started. I think JER's arrival was the first "Plan to Save DAYS!"

Then again, maybe mystery goop wasn’t as popular with fans as they thought it was going to be 😂😂😂
