I'm not sure if Doug is dead, either. The body was burned beyond recognition? Please. I have been watching soaps for 45 years.

Oh, Joey! Heading for a fall.

Hehe. That's right, Hayley. STAY...PRESSED.

And so it begins. Another turn in the Dani/Bill/Hayley storyline.

I admit that I felt a way about Jamey joining BTG because of all the discussions around here. But I felt this was a good start. It kept the focus where I feel it should be this week with Doug/Joey/Vanessa. Like I said earlier, Dani/Andre was a nice counterbalance and solid B plot. And while he was really in the main story...the ongoing tension between Jacob and Marcel give a good C plot.

Meanwhile...nice to get the twins' name.

I saw some of those pictures while I was running errands earlier and hollered.

Reminds me of how everyone was when Monique unleashed the Binder on Gizelle during the RHOP Season 5 reunion.

Great point, I didn't think of this (shame on me!) haha!

What an episode.

Yes, Dani is an utter lunatic, but when she does something ridiculous, she's awfully cute.  Loved her advice to Big Bill ("Go home and cut up some bananas for your child bride's Frosted Flakes!'), and his response ("Your new husband was still playing with blocks while we were on our honeymoon!")  And the whole deal in which she "critiqued" the quality of her leaked wedding photo.

I always had a suspicion the annulment would get "delayed" indefinitely while Dani and Andre make Big Bill and Dull Ashley jealous.

I expected Vanessa to go over-the-top with her reaction to Doug's death.  She didn't.  The girl who plays Vanessa is REALLY good.

Do y'all look at the closing credits?  The name "Donnell McBride" and the name "Peaches" jumped out at me today when the cast list rolled.

Doug's not dead. It's a set up to flush out Joey.

Hahaha, dead.

That's just as good as when Dani described Ashley as "she makes vanilla look spicy".

We'll see. :P

Hehe. Dani stays with the shade.

I think Marcel is acting as a double agent... and he and Jacob's dad are in on it with some input/help from Vernon Dupree is my theory.  We always see Vernon coming and going while handling business and I wonder if that business is dealing with Joey.

Marcel said 'You won't be needing that where you're going'... which could either mean Doug is 'going to heaven or hell where money doesn't matter' or he's going to a shelter to hide in order to set up Joey.   I'll be curious if perhaps Randy/Doug were aware of this since the two have been plotting.

And yes... yesterday and today were a meaty episodes for Lauren B as Vanessa... and she played them just right.   I wonder if Nicole/Dani will comfort her while making it all about them since we know the Duprees like to make everything about themselves.

So with Jamey's work finally seeing the light of day and his hiring was announced in March/April... I can only guess we might have another ten to twenty episodes or so left with Guza as co-headwriter.

I looked up the Donnell actor after seeing his name in the credits today.  He's an Atlanta kid named Alexander Cheeks.  And he looks like we would expect Vanessa and Doug's son to look.  He's a shade darker than Vanessa and about two shades lighter than Doug.

I think Doug is deader than a hammer.  (The reason he was "burned beyond recognition" is Marcel Malone killed him in the casino and then staged the car wreck.  He had to be burned so the autopsy won't detect his actual cause of death.  Just my humble opinion.)

To be on the safe side, @Broderick, you might need to spoiler tag that, but thank you for verifying what I've have long suspected. And given all the hints in the writing the last few weeks, I'm so excited.

I also feel Doug is dead dead as well. I will gasped though if he pops up outside of a flashback.

Yeah, if I'm not mistaken Errol has mentioned that Guza's name should be leaving sooner rather than later with Thomson's name appearing. With the Doug/Vanessa/Joey storyline getting the spotlight, I definitely feel that was his story and it's about to climax/turn.

I probably should've "spoilered" it, but they popped him right into the credits for all the world to see.  (They also gave the Anita Williams Impersonator a character name -- "Miss Jackie Tyree".)

Oh, Doug could always pop up later, I guess.  But that last shot of him Wednesday, his eyes were all blurry, and he seemed very confused.  Marcel had been bringing him drinks.  I believe the drinks had a sedative in them, they knocked him off, put him in a wrecked car by a tree, and set it on fire.

Jamey’s first episode as a writer for BTG was pretty good (best of the week so far). Maybe he’ll do well on this soap bc he certainly sucked on DAYS
