It’s interesting. We’ve seen a lot of conservative and even puritanical takes on sex from younger people in recent years. Like how a three-year age gap between adults is a “power differential.”

Yep. Like I said...that moment of weakness is soooo a norm.

I'm fine with it because I wanted to see them struggle their way back to each other. And so far, so good.

We see a lot of takes on sex in ostensibly left-leaning circles that would have been unthinkable even 10 years ago. I give BTG some credit for bucking that trend.

I know. I see quite a lot now that most definitely was not the case decades ago. I mean...25 is OLD now? Really? When? lol.

I am definitely happy that BTG is being good at exploring what's out there for sure. Some of which I would have never thought of as possible when I was young. It might not even be my thing, but it's just nice to see it out there and some idea of open-mindedness. Even in these times.

  • Oh no. Is the child bride feeling insecure and jealous about the man she took from Dani that he is spending time with... Dani? Sweetie, that is called karma making her sweet way back around to Y-O-U!
  • Oh, it is Ashley and Madison! I like seeing co-workers hanging out together outside of the workspace they are usually in.
  • I love seeing Vanessa feel something towards her children (who I hope show up), as well as the bond that she does share with Douglas.
  • Randy... I was hoping you were gone for good. Alas, you are here, and now we must deal with you.
  • Derek, you are bullheaded as frick... and I have a feeling that you trying to push this will backfire in the long term for you.
  • I am going to need Katherine to back off of Chelsea; you can tell she is hovering far too much, and the anxiety is written all over her face.
  • Randy really is saying, "I don't want what is happening to you to happen to me," and I do not blame him.
  • Babe...? When did Ashley and Derek officially become official again? Hmm... okay, then.
  • I can appreciate what Dani is trying to do; however, this feels like gaslighting Chelsea into keeping her social media, which she has stated she does not want to do, in order to fit in with what they feel she should be doing.
  • Aw, Caroline is so cute obsessing over Chelsea Kat. And I hope her friendship with Hayley is genuine, because I do like seeing it take place.
  • Douglas, I do feel like your plan is going to backfire hardcore. You are not thinking properly, and you are way beyond erratic.
  • Miss Vanessa... what are you doing, sweetie?!
  • Not the Hoodsie-looking ice creams! But in one set flavour... and not split like in my childhood. And where is the wooden "spoon" I can still taste to this day?
  • Not Bill slipping the "babe" in regards to Dani, and both Chelsea and Katherine noticed it. Yup. They are inching closer and closer to each other.
  • Uh-oh. What are Caroline and Hayley cooking up? This could surely backfire in the long term for the both of them.
  • I appreciate that Bill is walking into this conversation with openness and is accepting of Chelsea and her relationship with Madison.
  • So, a surprise birthday party for Bill? That will likely mean Dani is excluded, and both Caroline and Hayley are roping Tomas in on it? Oh.
  • Welp. There is Douglas... walking in on his wife and Joey doing what they do best! And I know Joey is loving every single second of it.

Notes:

  • I appreciate that we are seeing characters interact with those we normally do not see them with.
  • I love that we have people not sitting in the same spot within Orphey Gene's every single time. Hell, in any of the community sets.
  • I love seeing the advertisement we have seen online featured in the show as a real-life cross-promotional technique.

I hope this means we see more of Caroline.  I really like her.

So Hayley's plan is going to involve Tomas, Bill, Dani, Kat, and probably Eva too. I love all the messy implications Hayley's insecurities are about to create.

Man I hate to say but I don't think Doug is making it to season 2.

Chelsea, Bill, and Dani made quite the cute family today.

Doug is dead as hell, soon. I still suspect that when the smoke clears ultimately Vanessa will be the only one left standing in Joey's empire, though I don't see them getting rid of Joey right away.

I would absolutely bring on younger relations for Caroline (and bring on Vanessa's kids when Doug is dead), but then my brain is already far too ahead of itself thinking of recasting Sharon and doing a Therese Lamonte/Another World (or Nell Beaulac/Ryan's Hope, I guess) riff with someone young in the cast falling in love with the tragic, aging songbird.

Those folks at Orphey Gene's have put up with enough as is. From June's Tyler Perry touring show antics alone idk how some of those people just sat there still eating their pie.

That sucks because I think Jason Graham has emerged as one of the better male performers. I hope both him and Ted don’t both end up in body bags.

    • This is DAYS, the show that said you could brainwash anyone with simple kitchen appliances.  An actor's nail polish or lack thereof should be the least of our concerns, lol.
    • It was not that she wasn't wearing nail polish, it is that she managed to get a manicure in prison
    • "We're Knot Done Yet": the name of this lovely podcast AND what JVA tells her plastic surgeon at every appointment. In other news, Michele Lee is reminding me more and more of my old music teacher from elementary school, and I couldn't STAND that bitch.
    • I apologize if this has been covered already, but does anyone know whether Douglas Marland was HW'ing by that point?  If he was, then I see what he meant when he said (in so many words) that he had inherited a mess when he started at GH.  Aside from Alan and Monica, none of that material seems very promising.  The story with Mark Dante and the Corbins is the wrong kind of predictable (y'know, the kind where you know what's going to happen, but you just don't give a crap?), the stuff with Scotty and Laura is cute but toothless, I don't know WHAT the hell Gina and Steve Carlson's character are arguing about and Rick Webber has to be the dumbest man alive not to see David Hamilton practically twirling his moustache over how to make a killing off Lamont Corbin's declining health.  (By the way, "LAMONT CORBIN"?  What is this, "The Shadow"?  And "Corbin Limited" sounds like some jive I'd hear over on Y&R.) In a way, it's kind of like watching today's GH, right down to the dialogue that's serviceable and pushes plot along but says nothing about the characters' inner lives.
    • It absolutely was; the narrative was there, and they followed it promptly. Maybe that's back when women had babies at young ages?!?!?

    • Thanks for asking that!  Back when we had another major event upcoming (a party or the concert), I had intended to ask what everyone here was planning to wear.

    • Lol. Right?  I mean the show could have framed the 60th anniversary in a different way, but the narrative was celebrating Tom and the hospital. Also, what a weirdly sexist bunch of posts about women's nail polish.  Like, yes, this is Days problem lol.  Stacy Haiduk isn't a good Kristen because she doesn't wear nail polish?  Are we in the 1950's???
