The thing about Chase and Brook Lynn is they have very little in common.  Not even in an opposites attract way.  They are so different in almost every aspect from career to style that they never seemed like an endgame couple to me.  The pairing is relatively harmless yet AS and JS don't have enough chemistry to pull the pairing off and Chase frankly has more in common with Willow.

Awww. I would say they used to have a spark. Granted it was sucked out for the most part by gimmick writing, but it was there. I'm not against a break-up now, but I have been impressed by how much of a ride-or-die Chase has been for BLQ. To think there was a time that any hint of a secret and he would throw a tantrum for months on end. It's small, but nice growth.

Yeah, I remember people being excited about the pairing and wanting Brook and Chase to hook up and I think I recall liking them.

Idk, the pairing got stale really quickly for me.

I understand. I know I was. I still like them, but they are kinda...there.

And I'm sure the BTS stuff has not at all helped.

Between Sonny harassing ADA Turner and Stella browbeating Trina into giving Kai the second chance he hasn’t earned, a theme of today’s episode was “No doesn’t really mean no.”

It's unfortunate to see Stella used that way. They seem to go out of their way to degrade Trina in this relationship.

I'm watching him mugging the screen with amateur level intensity whenever he has to express anger/surprise/shock.  He was fine during the Nurse's Ball story climax, but his line readings are terribly stilted and his facial expressions are distracting and too goofy for dramatic GH scenes.  He'd be fine as a comic-relief character if he was playing Spinelli or something, but he is certainly not the second coming of the actors that played Spencer Cassadine.

I wish I could screen cap some of his goofy mugging (like Kristina falling into the pool), but I'm not tech savvy or invested enough to rewatch that crap.  This clip was edited to remove some of the seconds, but he's still the worst actor in all these scenes:

Thursday's show was terrible because it's the first time where I couldn't stand Laura Spencer.  I cannot believe a foundational character that built General Hospital is propping up that useless urchin Sonny saying she's "the problem" in their relationship.  WTF are these writers thinking/doing?!  I wish they'd retire Sonny permanently so he doesn't keep ruining all of GH's great characters.  The other gross thing this week was Brooklyn calling him "Uncle Sonny" repeatedly now that she knows she had a son with the son of her "Uncle Sonny."  Ick!

Drew was delicious, as usual, but I wish he didn't shut down Molly so quickly.  They could definitely do a messy, soapy story of Molly hooking up with her dead sister's ex the way Hunter Biden hooked up with his dead brother's wife.

Willow breaking up Chase & Brooklyn would be great, too.

Loved Jordan's new apartment set with its great windows and exteriors.  So cool that this effortlessly elegant character has gotten multiple dedicated fictional homes and career advancements on this show.  It's so refreshing to see GH not have a colorist bias and realize what a dark & lovely (and superior) gem she is (nice of them to rectify the unjust way they treated Keesha Ward or Vanita Harbor's Dara on GH).  This rekindling of a triangle with Curtis and Portia really salvages those 2 usually loser characters.  The best part of that story is, obviously, Dr. Isaiah Hannen Gannon Buchanan.  Even though he'd be better with Elizabeth, Willow, Molly or virtually any female on the show, I'll take him on GH as much as possible.

Yeah. I know Stella has been established as a fan of Kai and his football career, but I can't help but look at her and think...PROPPING.

And yeeeeah NOPE.

All Stella seems to do is prop. We've never been given a reason to care about Kai. It's just endless telling that we should at the expense of Trina who has little POV.

Laura is another character who only exists to prop. It's sad to watch one of the foundational characters reduced to a mob doll. And then there's Liz who is only a glorified day player.

I'd be here for a Chase/Willow affair, especially now that she has a spark of life to her. Brook Lynn is dull as dishwater. So is Chase, but if he were to cheat, it would compromise him and make Brook more of a force. Her drab wardrobe could also use an improvement. Also, count me in as another person who has lost interest in Gio being so OTT about Brook/Dante. He grew up with a loving mother, which biology doesn't erase. But he's so angry, as though he'd been abandoned and can only confide in St. Sonny. And Rocco's obsession with Britt (who is still a bore) is a choice.

I'm ready for the Drew murder mystery to commence. He's been a cartoon for a while but wanting to throw Danny in jail?!  He's got to go.

I'm at least intrigued that she's about to be collateral damage in the Curtis vs Drew fight. But prop duty...NOPE.

Same for Carly honestly and I don't even like Carly, but she deserves better.

I DO like Liz and agree. The ways these writers try everything under the sun to not use her in places she would fit in at is hilarious. I was shocked she fell right into the Willow story at all and is giving that crazy girl grace.

    • Some of those 1988-ish episodes are up. I'm not really sure she did much else. I think I recall something along the lines of she and Rusty had been suspended over the investigation of Nicky, George's supplier. I'm not sure she even gets some kind of goodbye. I think she just disappeared when Pam Long returned.
    • I did not care, just clarifying that was the discussion point. If there are ice cream bars in Statesville I am sure there is a full spa
    • Seeing Peter Bergman (Jack) and Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki) act opposite each other really makes me mad that their short-lived reunion in 2012 was just that... short-lived. I've always loved the Jack/Nikki pairing.
    • No.  I recall there was also a mention about how distracting it was EOB's Gwen wasn't wearing nail polish as well.  That it was someone's pet peeve. And, yes, the fact characters can have a manicure in prison is the wildest continuity issue here.
    • Can anyone remember Mary Ellen Stuart's run as Jenny? I'm trying to fill in the cracks for missing stuff that we overlooked.  Bulletpoints:  * Dated Ross * Rusty's police partner * Directly responsible for Dinah coming forward about George Stewart (Cam's father)
    • But that's not weird... nail polish is allowed in prisons via commissary. Same with general makeup, haircuts, and hair colouring products.
    • This is DAYS, the show that said you could brainwash anyone with simple kitchen appliances.  An actor's nail polish or lack thereof should be the least of our concerns, lol.
    • It was not that she wasn't wearing nail polish, it is that she managed to get a manicure in prison
    • "We're Knot Done Yet": the name of this lovely podcast AND what JVA tells her plastic surgeon at every appointment. In other news, Michele Lee is reminding me more and more of my old music teacher from elementary school, and I couldn't STAND that bitch.
    • I apologize if this has been covered already, but does anyone know whether Douglas Marland was HW'ing by that point?  If he was, then I see what he meant when he said (in so many words) that he had inherited a mess when he started at GH.  Aside from Alan and Monica, none of that material seems very promising.  The story with Mark Dante and the Corbins is the wrong kind of predictable (y'know, the kind where you know what's going to happen, but you just don't give a crap?), the stuff with Scotty and Laura is cute but toothless, I don't know WHAT the hell Gina and Steve Carlson's character are arguing about and Rick Webber has to be the dumbest man alive not to see David Hamilton twirling his invisible moustache over how to make a killing off Lamont Corbin's declining health.  (By the way, "LAMONT CORBIN"?  What is this, "The Shadow"?  And "Corbin Limited" sounds like some jive I'd hear over on Y&R.) In a way, it's kind of like watching today's GH, right down to the dialogue that's serviceable and pushes plot along but says nothing about the characters' inner lives.
