Peaches learned somehow that Barbara's family trust has this money. (I don't know how Peaches would know this.)

Thanks for the trust fund information that does offer an explanation, although it also opens up other questions such as the one you mentioned about how Peaches would discover this fund  after decades and only when near death.

Anita must have put a lot of money into that trust. I understand interest, but wow...it's a shame Anita didn't make sure Sharon and Tracy were given a dollar or two over the years.

But I get it -- we're not supposed to think about all this stuff.

After Barbara died and sent the suicide note to Anita, as soon as Anita had money, Anita set up a blind trust to pay off Barbara's family with a lot of money anonymously.  Some sort of fund that still exists and probably accrues interest.  It was set up in a way that the family was never supposed to know the money came from Anita.   This was Anita's internal emotional way of rationalizing that she was paying off her own karma for abandoning Barbara and causing Barbara to die of despair.  (I'm not saying that that money actually solved the bad karma.  Just saying that this was what *Anita* used as her motivation).

Anita recently said that she donated her personal share of the Articulettes reuninon concert to the same blind trust, so that it would go to Barbara's family.

Peaches learned somehow that Barbara's family trust has this money. (I don't know how Peaches would know this.).  Now that Peaches is dying, she wants Leslie/Dana to know that  her bio-mother was Barbara -- as Peaches wants Leslie/Dana to have access to the money from Barbara's family trust.  Peaches says it's a lot of money.

I understood the whole Anita donating to a blind trust throughout the years to support Barbara's family.

What I am confused about is how these inheritance letters have found their way to Leslie?

It seems like Barbara gave the baby to Peaches and cut all contact and Peaches did a good job of not telling anyone. So how would attorneys know that Leslie is Barbara's daughter and entitled to any of this money?

Also, if it is assumed that Barbara had no children, wouldn't her money already be distributed to her other closest relatives? Or are we to assume this money has been sitting there for decades with Anita adding more throughout the years and those running her blind trust haven't informed her of the issue with tracking down Barbara's family?

Great questions. I think it's a problem if writers don't address this stuff.

In Friday's episode, Anita said to Vernon, it would have been good if Barbara's family were in the audience at the reunion concert.  Anita said that she didn't think to contact them to invite them, so they could see Barbara honored, and she wishes that she had thought of it.

Of course Anita would remember where Barbara's family lived originally, since all four Articulettes grew up in the projects.  We know they started singing together as teens, but the video at the concert showed the four as girls, maybe elementary school age, so they'd known each other for many years.   Anita would have identified the family to the attorneys setting up the blind trust.

But does Anita know where the family lives now or how to contact them?
I guess she could have asked the attorneys for the contact info, and then contacted them herself with invitations.

what SilkPress might be entitled to if Anita were to try what she was mentioning this week about remastering the Articulate songs with Barbara's vocals which I believe now she would need SilkPress's permission to do as next of kin.

So then Anita would likely try to contact Barbara's family for permission (or ask Devon to arrange that).  And then the word would eventually get back to Leslie.

I think these are all good questions and makes me want to tune in to see if answers come. Heck, at this point RC is still there so they have a lawyer in the house.

I could see that.

In a way, it was. Someone else mentioned it online and I don't like the tongue-in-cheek of it to be honest...but...

Eva's cover story for the whole town that SilkPress had Eva practice at the time at the start of the show IS SilkPress's story. But the fact that SilkPress did not know she was adopted just means that the writers were hiding the truth literally in plain sight. But definitely referenced. Haha, writers...I get it.

Leslie knew she was adopted; she just didnt know the identy of her mother and thought she was abandoned

Peaches told them. In their first scene she told Leslie that "they told me ho you keep ignoring their phone calls and letters". Presumably she told the lawyer about Leslie and shared her contact info and after hearing that they couldnt locate her, Peaches came to DC personally to tell Leslie what that was all about

So truly it was out in plain sight.

Okay.  I agree that Peaches told the inheritance attorneys about Leslie.  But how did Peaches know about the inheritance to begin with -- how did she know that the inheritance attorneys existed?

Peaches wanted to tell Leslie she was dying.  She sent out an investigator to find where Leslie is living now.  Did the investigator somehow learn about the blind trust?

And really. Leslie's original plan-running Laura off the road and Eva taking her pace, doesn't really make much sense. What was the purpose of having Eva work for Nicole?

I've been thinking this for a while...
